Youth today have been given the short end of the stick without a doubt
however we can not expect change unless we do something
and as young leaders we must act

my question is
are any of you interested in taking some sort of action
what kind of action and why

I'm not sure what you mean either...

I mean...I'm out saving the world...or Korea for the time-being..And was complimented for joining the AF young...XDD

It's just I think in today's world people are way too lazy...so that's something we would have trouble with in the future...but we have many opportunities to change the world...and help it...

I'm currently volunteering at the Animal Shelter here..where there are not enough people to take care of the little animals that don't have a loving home...

I also try and help people whenever I can...

I dono if I answered your question.....but...as I said before..a lot of people are just content with what they have nowadays...I try to wonder away from that though XDD

Ah, I see.

I would like to change the attitude around here in the Christian community.
We try to do things for the town and for the organizations around here, but it seems like our actions are being drowned out by some of the so-called Christians and what they're saying.
Some are very judgmental, and catty. They're rude to people who are different, but act like they're in the right to say such things. So what if that family is gay? You're not teaching them God's love by insulting them. So what if that family is Hindu? You're not making them want to be Christians with that kind of slander.
It makes me sick the way some of these 'leaders' around here seem to forget that God said to love thy neighbor as thy self! He never gave any exceptions or exclusions, like love everybody, except that guy cause he's different. No, we're supposed to love the people, but hate the sinful actions.
If I made one impact in this small town, that's what I'd want to change. The attitude in the Christian community. Because it seems like we're pushing people further away instead of welcoming them in to get close to God.

^_^
Sorry for the slight rant.
I really needed to get that off my chest.

Well..the obviouse is that it's a good bullet on my EPR...but mostly because I wanted one volunteering things that I can do and grow to maybe be one of the key people there while I'm here. I'm not really sure why I volunteer..It just kinda..the person I am...I feel incomplete if I don't volunteer...even though it doesn't make me feel all happy inside...but I feel like I should be helping out somehow...and volunteering here is convinient..it's close to the dorms and they seem to really care about the animal...and are organized...and replied to me pretty fast when I asked about it.

I guess I just like helping people and animal...Sometimes I think that I like animals more then people XD

I'd help victims, any victims. Extinction, mistreating of animals, hurricane and earthquake victims. And spreading God along the way, for people to WANT to be with God.

Hm, well, so far I've simply tried to explain my position and to point out that when they say or do things to hurt those non-Christian families they are not doing God's will. They're actually sabotaging any future attempts to become friends to those families, to show them God through our actions.
I try to calmly tell them they're not being very loving, but they take my words as insult and won't listen.
>>;
But... I think, perhaps, something is getting through because even though they're against letting the gay family and the Hindu family join the Graduation committee, they mostly kept their comments to themselves when the chairman announced that she had invited them to participate with us. As she pointed out, it is every one's right to be apart of the graduation committee, not just the Christians. They've worked hard just much as your kids have, so stop trying to not include them.
^_^
Same with the prom committee, they were about to throw a fit because a black woman was running the show. But, they kept their comments, mostly, to themselves.
O.o
Small towns can be annoying sometimes.

How can you show people God through your actions?
you have stated in a round about way you would include where others choose to exclude but it seems like the root of the probelm is much deeper

how can you enable others to see what you see? how can you show them the way?
