An after story of Matsuribayashi-hen, which takes place on August 1983 in Hinamizawa. This should not be considered as a "Chapter 9" per se, but more like "The Chapter After Matsuribayashi-hen."
The main lead is Rika Furude. Rika gets into a car accident after coming home from the swimming pool with her friends. When she wakes up, she finds herself in a world that she has never been in; a perfect world where nothing went wrong. Rika at first appears happy with this, in spite of feeling that all her struggles to fix the world were useless. However, without the tragedies having happened in the past, club activities never existed, Keiichi never appeared in Hinamizawa, Satoko bullied Rika, and the friendship that the main characters shared was never forged.
