No, in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, you find out that Dr Robotnik is actually the grandfather of Dr Eggman

I watched the episode like twice to make sure. I'm pretty sure he was called "doctor" by Eggman.

Also, sorry guys I completely forgot about this once the 2nd answer was given and I never updated. I was pmed the answers :/.

Then that's a 4Kids Dub error there because it's Professor Robotnik in Adventure 2 and in Shadow. Then again 4Kids likes to screw up everything like my personal favorite Maria was Kidnapped. Everyone who has played the game knows that she was shot and the Japanese Version of Sonic X clearly said she died...
