I decided to play through this one again because I needed some RPG love. it's not my favorite FF but it does the trick. though I don't really like the different jobs since you really only need a few and some of them are pretty useless.

The SNES one wasn't called FF3. Unless you live in the country where game companies are truly retarded.
I only found out it was called FF3 in the U.S. when one of my friends started talking about it and it sounded not a s**t like the FF3 I had played. Then it hit me. "Oh, you mean FF6." "No, 3, the one with Locke." "Yeah, that's FF6." "Oh really?" "Yes, really, you dubbie." rofl

It's not just 'different' but the real numeration of the series.
Square U.S. were just a bunch of pricks back then and just have to mimick bad dubbing companies and give the series mixed numers.
And they never really explained why the first PS FF was 7 when they had only released FF 1, 2 and 3. As I always say, if you're gonna slaughter something, make sure it's not twitching anymore once you're done with it.
And still, since I don't give half a s**t about the remakes (no, seriously. Square's remakes are always a ship full of fail,) I don't really know if you're talking about FF3 or FF6 yet.
It shouldn't really matter, anyhow, as both kick serious a**. And if it's 6, then... "FF fanbois, my Kefka thinks your Sephiroth is a winny little b***h."

yeah, it is pretty ridiculous. I just go by what I know which is the alternate numbers (2=4 etc.) and I'm talking about 3 (not 6 here) it came out on the DS about two years ago around christmastime I think. it was the first DS game I got actually. 6/3 was a GBA port it doesn't focus on the story very much (the story and characters suck actually) it pales in comparison to 6. 6 imo was better than 7 I must say
