8th and 9th grade I was amazed I made it to the next grade

9th, I barely passed

and I'm going into 10th
a whole different school (which is f'ing huge, seriously eek )
trimesters instead of semesters
and..Math...
I'll be in one trimester of algebra 1b and then straight to 2 trimesters of Geometry
which I've heard is pretty easy, but math still scares me ><;;

I'm looking forward to being back in Japanese class and LA class
but I'm nervous that I'll screw up this year like I did last year.

And I want to change, and I know I understand everything
my final exam grades could've told me that
I'm just too lazy ><;;

..Help?
like..suggestions to help me beat my procrastination and laziness?
please? >.<;;

OMG we must be like soul twins. I was like that too. and am still. I'm going to 10th. I used to hate myself because I knew I was smart and I knew if I tried I could be the best in class, but alas I never "try" so I hated myself. I knew I was probably the smartest in class, but laziness and procrastination always got on the way. and they still do. -I was late to school EVERY DAY for the whole 3 years of middle school- I'm not sure how to battle it myself. However, I have figured some things out. What we need is motivation. something that moves us. I would say get help, but the fact is, no one can actually help. No one can force us to do work or anything now that we are grown up. When we are little our parents have all the control. They can spank us if we misbehave. But the older we get, the less control anyone has over us. The only way to change is to "set your mind to it". There is no trick to fighting being lazy. You have to get up and move on your own and it stinks. So right now, I am still a loser, but I have found that I am getting better. Sure it is REALLY REALLY REALLY slowly, but its better than nothing. but i still hate it cry . ok enough ramblings. onto the real advice.

1) change your attitude. you have to decide deep in your heart that you are going to change. You are going to have to fight yourself, and your going to hate every minute of it, but in the long run, you will thank yourself. I always sat around crying and look where its got me? no where. so I have decided that my step one was to stop crying. change my attitude. next time I get depressed and start thinking about how I've failed, I will stop myself and do something else. get up, do chores, play with my little brothers, and then feel like I've done something in my life, and feel good.
When you feel good, you feel energized, you feel happy, and you want to do everything. Feeling good about yourself can motivate you to do your work.
2) Find your motivation. one word: Music. it can take you from feeling depressed to feeling energized and you just wanna swing with the beat. If you have something you need to do, like clean your room, but you really and I mean really dont want to, play your favorite energized song really really loud and instead of dancing to it clean your room. works eveytime. once you see that your room is spotless, you'll feel so good. you'll be "on a roll". Whats next? doing the dishes. vacuming? how about homework? yeah! get a timer and set in front of you. say ok I have to finish this in 1 hour no matter what.
3) set small goals. then eveytime you finish one you'll just keep feeling better. baby steps. 1 at a time. being on a roll feels very good mrgreen and dont get discouraged if you dont meet them. just keep trying your hardest. and if something seems to be taking too long, skip it and come back to it later. If you end up only finishing 1 thing in the whole day, your gonna feel depressed.
4) reward yourself. have you met your small goal? thats excellent thats stupendous! give yourself a break. let yourself feel like you did something wonderful. even if the goal you finished was only creating the project's title. let yourself play 1 game of solitaire, then back to work. make sure you reward yourself according to the amount of work you finished. if you folded the laundry, watch 1 half hour program. If you finished 1 page of math homework, eat some m&m's. if you charpened your pencil, you get nothing xp
*make sure you dont reward yourself too often. you'll end up wasting a lot of precious time. seriously, be reasonable. and set your mind, thats once reward time is over its back to work immediately. savor every moment od reward/break time cuz once its over its back to work. no questions asked.

!!IMPORTANT!! DONT WAIT. NEVER WAIT.

If your reading this in the afternoon, dont say, I'll start tomorrow, say I'll start right now. if you keep saying tomorrow, your never going to start. One day you might wake up late, and it ruins your plans. Dont use that as an excuse to cancel everything. change your plans, but dont cancel. I've been saying tomorrow for years, and I'm still no where. say right now. I'm going to change now because I know I can and I will because I can and because I should.

there were some other things I wanted to say, but I can't remember sweatdrop . oh well biggrin
