Have you ever noticed that every main character to the sotryline of Hellsing wears gloves? Why is that?

I second Inu.
Gloves are sexy.... Pullin' them off with your teeth and such... OM NOM NOM New random fact, the only person to ever take their gloves off is Integra. From this we learn that, gasp, she actually has hands... And they're damn sexy hands too.
xd
Anyway, seriously though, I think everyones already noticed that they all wear gloves. ninja ...Alucard seems to be the only one who has to wear them... Perhaps Intega's commanded everyone else to wear gloves so he doesn't feel all alone and emo? xd

I have noticed.
Have you noticed that just about every single Hellsing character wears either a suit or a uniform of some kind?

The primary and practical reason that the majority of Hellsing's characters wear gloves is because Hirano has trouble drawing the details of their hands.
If you want a deeper answer, you could say that gloves, in general, are symbols of nobility, high status, and a desire to set oneself apart from humanity. However, this description only applies to some of Hellsing's characters, such as Alucard, Integra, and the Maojor. It does not apply to all of them.

It's close, but it's not a true repeat as far as I know. Your thread on Alucard's gloves, Dita, was more specific and much deeper in content.
While not all Hellsing characters are nobility or of high status, as NLK mentions, many of them are military in orientation and combat gloves could be a common part of their uniform, hence the tendency to see gloves everywhere. I will agree the answer is probably simply Hirano didn't like drawing hands, but it's fun to come up with sound seeming retroactive explanations.
@Suni: Would you believe I'm trying to let my nails grow out a bit with Integra's hands in mind? It started as an accident. I just didn't trim them for a while and for a miracle they looked good long, not broken or chipped for once, so I decided to let them be and take care of them to keep them looking good. *shrug* Why not? I can always blame it on being "one of those fangirl quirks".

Wearing gloves can distance a person. Hands are an important part of society - look how we shake hands to greet each other. When gloves are worn, it takes away that intimate feel and look of skin. Just look at how many people have remarked about Integra's hands when she takes her gloves off - it's important to human beings to see and feel bare hands.

xDita Von Teesex Well said NoLifeKing. Isn't this one of those excessively repeated threads? rolleyes Not so much a repeated thread, but it's a topic that's arisen many times in other threads. =/ One of the reasons I was not too keen on it when I saw it. xD Inu of Baskerville Suni moon I second Inu. Integra's like: Okay, so let's all where gloves and cover our skin... Alucard can't take 'em off, so let's not let him feel left out, kay? ...and all her soldiers are like: This is what she called us into a meeting for...? Thank God, I thought she was going to yell at us. crying Sir_Catherine @Suni: Would you believe I'm trying to let my nails grow out a bit with Integra's hands in mind? It started as an accident. I can always blame it on being "one of those fangirl quirks". Yeah, I can believe it. xD I'm actually trying to make my nails look healthier and nicer for the sake of gloveless cosplay. I've always been a nailbiter, and that's a habit I still end up resorting to if things get uber stressful, I've only recently started coming out of the habit... but despite the new length of my nails, my cuticles are a mess, yeah... that still needs work... May cosplay and fangirlness fuel us, eh? 3nodding

the answer is actually multi-part.
a surprising thing to notice in japanese culture is the fact that a lot of "official" types wear gloves. from the police on the streets on up to some corporations wear gloves. i myself didn't realize this at first until it was told to me, and i looked it up. it's also an english cultural thing as well, though it's seen a decline for the sake of "modernity". a lot of official and important people in many countries wear gloves for similar reasons.
it IS also in fact a kind of symbolic seperation as well, a physical symbol of distance and the "i'm too important to get your dirt on me."
also, in hirano's world, they just look cool. if you'll notice, even most of the soldiers and geese wear gloves of some sort. and quite possibly also the fetish thing, because it IS hirano, and we already know he's got a thing for catgirls, magic boobs, and nazi orgies from his other works.
aand a bunch of other crap, i'm too tired to dig out the fashion symbolism books to go through, and too tired to post.
sorry for rambling.

I think my favorite hypothesis for the whole glove thing is Suni's explanation with Integra's "support" for Alucard X3
