Hey all! You may know me from around here for some scathing comments and lots of insults. Well guess what, now its your turn to insult/help me!
I am in a bit of a bind. I have a lot of pokemon raised but I have no idea what to put in a team. So here are some of the pokemon I have raised and I am always happy to make more. Help me build a team so that I have something to fall back on instead of just picking random pokemon. I usually take place in Double Battles so try to keep that in mind, it does make a difference. We also usually play with the rules no switching unless its a move. Several other rules have been put on because of me as well but I won't get into that. I don't use legendary pokemon either.
Obviosly these are not all my pokemon, these are the ones I use the most though. Always open to suggestions so thanks for your time.
The list
Jetstream Lvl- 100 (Woo the only pokemon I have bothered to do this.) Ability- Serene Grace Nature- Modest Item- Shell Bell (probably going to change this) HP-320 Attack- 132 Defense- 240 Sp. Attack- 331 Sp. Defense- 277 Speed- 206 Ancient Power Air Slash Shadow Ball Aura Sphere Notes: The ONLY pokemon I have loved enough to raise by myself to level 100. I really do love my Jetstream. Air Slash is FANTASTIC! Ancient Power, don't look down on it, its handy to take down other flying pokemon and such.
Monkey D. Luffy Lvl- 45 (yes it is low I WILL be raising him up though since he is one of my favorites) Ability-Technician Nature-Adamant Item-Silk Scarf HP-132 Attack-132 Defense-80 Sp. Attack-70 Sp. Defense-73 Speed-127 Fake Out Double Slap (rarely used) Double Hit (rarely used) U-Turn Notes: Oh Luffy my baby! Dispite his low level Luffy has taken care of some much higher level pokemon for me. Fake Out with STAB, Silk Scarf and Tech can do a lot of damage and a garuntied Flinch. That can mess up a lot of trainers plans and it works perfectly.
Steve Lvl-57 Ability-Lightening Rod (usually paired up with a flyer) Nature- Brave Item- Not decided HP-204 Attack-237 Defense-169 Sp. Attack-73 Sp. Defense-68 Speed-64 Stone Edge Hammer Arm Mega Horn Earthquake Notes: Don't use him all that often but eh. Usually I have him paired up with a flying pokemon to take away a weakness.
-Puffball- Lvl-50 Ability-Chlorophyll Nature- Timid Item-Big Root HP-143 Attack-69 Defense-86 Sp. Attack-64 Sp. Defense-94 Speed-165 Sleep Powder Giga Drain Leech Seed U-turn Notes: Puffball can't really take a hit. However Puffball moves first pretty much all the time and will put you to sleep before you can do anything. Puffball usually is one of my openers, switch with her and Luffy using U-Turn a lot. Sleep Powder and Leech Seed can do a lot of damage over time and it is very wonderful.
Kamina Lvl-53 Ability- Intimidate Nature- Adamant Item- None still looking HP-172 Attack-163 Defense-106 Sp. Attack-119 Sp. Defense-107 Speed-141 Aerial Ace Fire Fang Extreme Speed Thunder Fang Notes: Not that fond of fire pokemon but Kamina has won me a lot of battles. I like him and I like all he does for me. Not sure if there is a better set but whatever.
Tabula Rasa Lvl- 52 Ability- Download Nature-Modest Item-Life Orb HP-157 Attack-105 Defense-90 Sp. Attack-148 Sp. Defense-94 Speed-114 Psychic Thunderbolt Recover Tri Attack Notes: With all the boosts and his pretty good speed Tabula Rasa can do a lot of damage. Usually he can take down at least two pokemon before going down.
Some crazy Japanese name Lvl-51 Ability-Pressure Nature- Bold Item-Silver Powder HP-138 Attack-84 Defense-127 Sp. Attack-99 Sp. Defense-123 Speed-54 Attack Order Heal Order Power Gem Toxic Notes: I don't use her to much unfortunately. I should use her more. To bad she isn't fast. I was not the one who raised this little girl.
Elite Beat Lvl-64 Ability- Rain Dish Nature-Lax Item-Leftovers HP-226 Attack-111 Defense-124 Sp. Attack-141 Sp. Defense-119 Speed-130 Toxic Surf/Substitute (not sure if I should change it.) Leech Seed Rain Dance Notes: Ah Elite Beat how I love you. Elite Beat can make a turn last for 20 minutes with his healing and poisoning. This guy can take A LOT of hits, usually one of my first pokemon and usually one of the last pokemon out Elite Beat has the ability to gain 1/3 of his health back in one turn. I love my baby here.
Scorpnic Lvl-61 Ability- Sniper Nature-Impish Item-Scope Lens HP-179 Attack- 166 Defense-16 Sp. Attack-94 Sp. Defense-108 Speed-150 Ice Fang Cross Poison Night Slash Earth Quake Notes: I used to use this guy a lot, I forgot why I don't use him that much. Good pokemon, Sniper is a wonderful ability.
Gant Lvl-67 Ability-Inner Focus Nature-Serious Item-Persim Berry HP-215 Attack- 208 Defense-152 Sp. Attack-159 Sp. Defense-150 Speed-160 Dragon Dance Outrage Waterfall Earthquake Notes: I do like my Dragonite, I should use him more then I do but oh well, I put him here because I do like him.
Kratos Lvl-78 Ability-Steadfast Nature- Naive Item-Razor Claw HP-225 Attack-228 Defense-134 Sp. Attack-138 Sp. Defense-183 Speed-214 Psyco Cut Close Combat Night Slash Leaf Blade Notes: Now, most of you are thinking, what is she doing? No Sword Dance? Trust me I know what I am doing with this. Gallade can't take a hit worth s**t, no better way to put it. By the time you are finished with your boosts you are almost dead if you haven't died all ready. What my Gallade does is hit hard and fast. His attack is all ready high, I have an item that boosts crit hits as well as high crit rate attacks on him. Gallade usually takes down two or three pokemon before going down. He does his job and he does it well.
Rosewell Lvl-62 Ability-Sturdy Nature-Modest Item-Magnet HP-178 Attack-110 Defense-168 Sp. Attack-196 Sp. Defense-142 Speed-119 Magnet Bomb Tri-Attack Thunder Wave (Might replace with Magnet Rise) ThunderBolt Notes: I like Rosewell. He can take a hit, he does a decent amount of damage. He is a UFO, what isn't to like about him?

Alright, let's start by commenting on your pokemon. Melphaligal the Challama The list
I'm sure you've heard of "para-flinching" before; thanks to serne grace and a nice flinch move in Air Slash, Togekiss can make it incredibly difficult for your opponent to attack. Thunder has the highest paralysis rate at 60%, but it can learn Thunder Wave and eliminate the chance of it failing. Paralysis helps it out by giving it an edge where it normally wouldn't have one due to a low base speed.
This vicious little guy is in need of some kind of coverage. Switching to a Ghost, Rock, or Steel Type pokemon completely counters it, and while it can take a small chunk out of the opponent while running, there's a large chance that your counter-switch will itself be countered. I have never used one, so I don't know what it can learn.
Meh, average Rhyperior, although that low defense stat worries me a little. Alot of people have been replacing Mega Horn with Avalanche to take out Dragons dumb enough to attack it without stat-boosts.
Puffball really shouldn't have a defensive moveset, but that wonderful speed stat is begging for some use. Substitute is a fun move that can work with your stalling/annoyance strategy, plus it comes with the added bonus of saving Puffball incase you screw up somewhere.
There is a better set, but it requires you to train a Growlith untill it learns Flare Blitz. STAB Flamethrower, Fire Blast, or Overheat deals more damage than Fire Fang, despite the difference in stats, and priority moves, while useful, shouldn't be your "heavy" attacks. Apart from a couple of unique tricks, Arcanine is a pretty shallow pokemon.
Awesome pokemon, but it lacks the power that makes Porygon-Z feared in competitive battling. Without Adaptability, it loses the ability to one-shot Blissey with Hyper Beam or boosted Tri-Attacks. Without Nasty Plot, it doesn't have the brute force to take out a special wall. That large special attack is still going to hurt, but not as much as it should.
It looks pretty solid, believe it or not. Defend Order would make this infinitely better.
No comment; never raised one.
16 DEFENSE! HOLY CRAP! Jokes aside, sniper is really a crappy ability, but it's the best he gets, plus 4x damage off of a lucky Night Slash is nice. Their stats are meh and I never liked their design, ergo I never raised one. I do know it gets Swords Dance.
Good moveset. Nothing you could really add here except something to take out Gyarados and other nasty walls. Thunderbolt or Thunder should pack enough sting, and Stone Edge hits a weakness as well.
His attack is already high, I have an item that boosts crit hits as well as high crit rate attacks on him. Gallade usually takes down two or three pokemon before going down. He does his job and he does it well. Gallade's job is to kill special walls and tanks, most of which use special attacks. That's his niche; no pokemon can do this job the same way that Gallade can and many, many more pokemon can do a better job at sweeping than Gallade can ever hope to do. Gallade suffers from crappy speed, but is blessed with status attacks, including Hypnosis.
Once again, shamefully, no comment.
Now I'll say something that you've probably heard before: Just pick your favorites. If you want to win, then visit smogon, download shoddybattler, or get some experience and build a team completely from scratch. If you want to do well against competitive teams, then simply pick a winning formula. The ones I know of are: 3 Tanks, 2 Sweepers, 1 Wall 2 Tanks, 3 Sweepers, 1 Wall 2 Walls, 1 Tank, 3 Sweepers Most Competitive battlers keep in mind the eight offensive types when building a team. These are the types that score the most super-effective hits and have the most neutral coverage, they are: Ice, Electric, Fighting, Dark, Rock, Ground, Psychic, and Dragon Almost every sweeper in the game is going to carry one move that is one of these types, if two or three. When building team synergy, it's usually a good idea to make sure that your sweepers can cover your tanks and that your tanks can switch in for your sweepers. Walls usually don't concern themselves with type match-ups. I hope this helps.

Mirri the Sneak Alright, let's start by commenting on your pokemon. Melphaligal the Challama The list

Paralysis helps it out by giving it an edge where it normally wouldn't have one due to a low base speed.
Jetstream here is a last resort pokemon. I only really use him after all my other pokemon are gone. I have taken a full stab blasted thunder with this guy and unless its a critical hit he lives through it just fine. I have never been to much of a fan of Paralysis, to unreliable that its actually going to work. Plus my Ludicolo usually makes it to the end of battle as well and they are usually Toxic'd by then.
I have never used one, so I don't know what it can learn.
You do raise a good point, I do need to stick something other then a normal attack that doesn't cause me to flinch. One of the rules that we have when we are battling is the no switching unless its a move rule. So I don't really run into any danger of getting a counter-switch.
Meh, average Rhyperior, although that low defense stat worries me a little. Alot of people have been replacing Mega Horn with Avalanche to take out Dragons dumb enough to attack it without stat-boosts.
Yeah, I don't really have much say in what to really do with him. He can hit hard and all. I just don't use him to much. I will take your advice into consideration though.
Puffball really shouldn't have a defensive moveset, but that wonderful speed stat is begging for some use. Substitute is a fun move that can work with your stalling/annoyance strategy, plus it comes with the added bonus of saving Puffball incase you screw up somewhere.
Adding Substitute, thats a pretty good idea. Usually he comes in after Luffy for Sleep Powder and Leech Seed. Starting out with Substitute would work well on him. I might just have to do that.
I really don't like moves that damage myself, I just don't think the damage delt is worth doing damage to yourself is all. Hence me putting in the only other physical fire attack move. I don't use Extreme Speed all that much. I really only use it if it comes down to a speed battle and I want to ensure victory.
That large special attack is still going to hurt, but not as much as it should.
Hyper Beam makes me loose a turn though, can't really afford that. As for Nasty Plot, as you can probably tell I am not all that into stat boosting moves, oh I use them occasionally but not all the time. While he is a strong sp. attacker he isn't my main sp. attacker. His is lower, much lower, then my Togekiss's was at that level, Togekiss being over 200 at level 50.
It looks pretty solid, believe it or not. Defend Order would make this infinitely better.
It probably would be. I dunno, I should really use her more.
You should its awesome! I never fail to make my opponants mad at me!
16 DEFENSE! HOLY CRAP! Jokes aside, sniper is really a crappy ability, but it's the best he gets, plus 4x damage off of a lucky Night Slash is nice. Their stats are meh and I never liked their design, ergo I never raised one. I do know it gets Swords Dance.
Haha to lazy to look up whatever defense it was, I think 165 or something I dunno. I get crits a fair amount of times that Sniper works pretty well. To each their own though.
Good moveset. Nothing you could really add here except something to take out Gyarados and other nasty walls. Thunderbolt or Thunder should pack enough sting, and Stone Edge hits a weakness as well.
Well nothing really lives after the DD and Outrage combo. The other moves were just kinda thrown in there.
I don't know what it is about my crazy Gallade but speed is never a problem with him. He usually goes first, the exceptions being if there is a Jolteon or something on the field. I do like Hypnosis but I think I will keep his moveset, I just like his moves to much, it covers a lot of pokemon types and I know I would regret replacing it with something else.
Once again, shamefully, no comment. Thats ok, you have helped a lot.
Now I'll say something that you've probably heard before: Just pick your favorites. Walls usually don't concern themselves with type match-ups. I hope this helps. It does help. I only do raise pokemon that I like so there is no worries about that. Usually I just take ones in that I feel like as well. Just kinda want a team to go into as backup if I ever need it. Thank you very much though.
