Eyelids slowly opened, revealing two soft blue eyes, that immediately shut once more. The bright light that flooded into the room from the window was far too much for the just woken girl at the current moment. An odd wave of fatigue had overwhelmed Jessica the previous night, though thankfully she got a fair amount of sleep, sound sleep at that. No dreams had interrupted her slumber, which she was quite thankful for. Dreams were something the girl never had herself, being a mind reader the only dreams to play in her subconscious were those of others. Often times others had rater intriguing dreams, but usually she found it quite tiresome to have to watch the tales of others lives. Not only that, but whenever she had to deal with the dreams of others she always woke up quite exhausted, considering her mind was actively working to somehow transmit the dreams of whoever was close to her. In order to sleep soundly she had to be far from others, which could only mean that her new roommate wasn't there yet.

Pedro that is. The name of the boy had become engraved on the door the night before, which couldn't help but give the girl a fright. Whether or not the suicidal boy hated her she didn't know, last she had seen him she had prevented him from the demise he wished upon himself. If it wasn't for her the pain would've gone away. Had she been wrong in saving his life? Maybe, but she knew she couldn't have lived with herself if she had witnessed Pedro plummeting to his death. The well being of others was important to the girl, and even though she barely knew the boy she still wished for him to be okay, and in her opinion suicide was not the right answer. However, that didn't mean she was looking forward to seeing Pedro.

Maybe the boy would be grateful for her actions?
Ha.
That was a false hope and she knew it.

Sighing, the girl finally allowed her eyelids to remain opened, staring at the wall next to her. Moving from her position was something the girl had no desire to do. Getting up meant she would have to get ready for the day, and getting ready only meant the inevitable meeting between her and Pedro would happen. If she stayed in bed he probably wouldn't approach her, but staying in bed all day wasn't an option. However, lingering for a few more moments couldn't hurt. Besides, Jessica had made herself comfortable. The soft bed seemed far more like a cloud in heaven than a mattress, the fluffy comforter had only helped envelope her slender body all the more. Yea, she wasn't moving. Not yet.

Bright Shiny Morning

Unnoticed by others, the Hispanic managed to make his way into the dorm hallway, only to find he was replaced into the first dorm. With the same girl who'd ruined his plans. An anger reboiled inside of him at the thought of the meddling girl he now decidingly hated. There was no way in hell the ******** headmistress decided to put him with her. It had to be some kind of cruel, sick joke. Maybe there was another Pedro in the school... As much as he tried to tell himself that and convince his racing mind they weren't damned together for the year, Pedro knew his roommate was that same ******** girl who interfered too much. A low growl escaping his lips, amber eyes shifted to their blacks, which as of lately, was pretty damn usual. The mostly fragile boy pushed open the door open, falling forward into the semi-darkness and cold silence. The annoying girl was nowhere to be found, thankfully, so, perhaps she was already gone for the day. Glancing to the balcony, which not only held his plants from the previous room but soon familiarity, Pedro decided against giving it another try. It would be best if he did it when he could be sure that b***h didn't intervene and ruin his trip to a better world. Pulling a menthol cigarette from the pocket of his jacket, not usually his first choice mind you, he headed to the balcony and lit it up, taking a slow drag which held no need or interest.

"Good morning, my beautiful flowers. Did you miss me?" He muttered, smiling slightly when the flowers seemed to lean towards him in a greeting. A calloused hand reached out to gently thumb one of the petals, which were soft and smooth. Pedro looked toward the sky, eyes draining of black and slowly becoming replaced with a greenish-blue as they squinted in the sun. It was hot outside today. Finishing off the cigarette, he took the watering can and filled it to the brim, proceeding to feed his babies before heading back inside to the unaltered emptiness of the living room. Taking a deep breath and figuring the girl was not present in the room, even at this time of morning, he plopped on the couch and tilted his head to the ceiling, blinking softly before nodding off.

Not only did the creak of the door opening alert the motionless girl that her roommate had her arrived, but the thoughts of his that flooded into her mind told her so as well. Words that she wished she couldn't hear rampaged relentlessly in her mind as if someone was screaming in her ear. Being a mind reader had many down sides, anger of others causing one of them. If someone thought while they were influenced by wrath it would engender an excruciating headache to be inflicted upon anyone listening, which at that moment was unfortunately Jessica. Groaning in pain, the girl moved about in her bed, wishing even less to move from where she had been resting peacefully. When the pounding began to subside she knew that the boy's thoughts had softened to something less fierce, which was good news for her for two reasons. One, that meant the headache would begin to fade away until it was barely there. Two, that meant that he wasn't so caught up in his anger. That meant it was most likely somewhat safe for her to roll out of bed, which she found herself doing moments later.

On her feet, she cautiously moved towards her door, hesitating before opening it. Her head peeked out first in order to see if the boy was anywhere in sight, which she found to be true considering the boy was plopped onto the couch in the living area of the dorm. From there he wouldn't be able to see her, which meant she might have been able to get ready for the day without him knowing. Of course taking a shower and everything would cause noise, so he would know she was there. But as long as she didn't have to speak to him everything would be okay. At the moment the boy probably just wanted space, which she would give him. She quickly slipped into the long hallway, moving quietly towards the bathroom. Once she entered the small room a sigh of relief escaped her lips as she allowed her slender body to rest against the door frame. Unfortunately, her moment of realization only lasted a moment, as Jessica then decided to quickly begin her morning routine. First the girl brushed her teeth, hating the taste that lingered in her mouth after sleeping. How anyone could stand not brushing her teeth she didn't know, for hygiene was something the girl cared about greatly. She always made an attempt to brush her teeth after every meal. Cleanliness had always been important to the girl.

Moments later, a frown became fixed onto Jessica's lips as her blue eyes failed to see her face wash on the counter next to the sink. Where was it? She hadn't remembered moving it.. Ah wait, she had washed her face in the shower the previous night, she had just left it in there. In order to retrieve the face wash, Jessica moved towards the shower, of course failing to notice the small puddle of water she had left the night before. When she did notice it was to late, considering she was already on her way towards the ground. However, instead of her head meeting the cold hard floor it decided to slam against the edge of the shower instead, which hurt like a b***h. "

Pedro didn't even have to look to know the girl had awoken and was trying to avoid catching his eye. He pretended to feign current interest in the blank television screen. He felt her pass by the living room door, which was slightly ajar. Sneaking. He knew she knew what he felt. Listening intently as Jessica shut the bathroom door, he stood and made his way to the window of the living room, looking in disgust at the sunny world below. What happened to the overbearing storm from yesterday? Had it vanished when they did? At least Pedro knew the weather wasn't in tune with his emotions. Other wise, there would be a tornado ready to tear down the school. Blinking away irritation from his eyes, which were now shifting color constantly in a roller coaster of uncertain emotions, Pedro decided a change of clothes was in order. Slightly sharp nails scrapping against the happy blue wall, he passed up the bathroom. Just as he reached the bedroom door, there was a loud thud, indicating that something or someone had fallen. Pausing for a moment, he traced the signature of pain back to Jessica. Normally, the boy would do something about this. Go help her, send someone to get medical help... But, since she'd interfered, he was pretty pissed off at her. Severing the quick bond he'd formed with her, he headed into the closet, deciding on maybe helping her if she still needed it by the time he got ready for the day.

After changing into a pair of black Dickies pants, white converse, and a black T-Shirt with silver, 'H-Town'-centric symbols and words on it, a far stray from his usual theme of red, he stood in front of the mirror, opening the vat of hair gel. There was just barely enough to spike his whole hair, which reminded him that he needed to go into town at some point and buy out the whole isle. Fixing his hair in it's usual fashion, Pedro cocked his head at the reflection. Staring back at him was a Hispanic with eyes that couldn't make up their mind, though, in their depths, remained only sorrow. Retracing the signature, he found that Jessica was still in pain, still in the bathroom. Putting on his best apathy face to hide his slight concern and show a little anger, he opened the door and looked down to the floor. "Clumsy much?" It was more of a Justin thing to say but...

The fervent pain in her head continued to ring. Pain was a horrible thing for any mind reader to experience, for when in pain their powers tended to go haywire, only making the pain worse. The angry thoughts of the suicidal boy and the unfortunate position of the shower had made her head bang with with a ferocity worse then any headache. It would soon be over though. Usually she had more of a tolerance to pain, but when it came to head injuries she was quite the weakling. I should clean up this mess... The girl then thought to herself as she rubbed her palm against her pained head. Reluctantly, Jessica then crawled towards where her towel was hanging on the towel rack and pulled it down, finding it pointless to stand to her feet. Moments later she found herself soaking up the puddle of water that had caused the fiasco to occur in the first place. Once the towel had successfully mopped up the collection of water she sat down on her butt to wipe of the water that had decided to cling onto her skin. Not that she really cared, considering she was going to get in the shower soon anyways, but she figured she might as well. However, she was soon interrupted by the arrival of Pedro in the small bathroom.

The blue gaze of Jessica only averted to him for a second after he spoke, as if she was making sure that the words had come from him. For they seemed to be nothing that the boy would say, from what she knew of him at least. His attitude seemed to have been replaced with that of her former roommate, which was far from a good thing for Jessica. She figured it would be like that for some time, but that didn't mean she was going to allow herself to be walked over. No. The boy had to know that she didn't regret what she had done, or that she at least wasn't going to let him know that she did. "At least I don't fall off balconies." She said coolly in response as she stood to her feet.

Pedro chuckled. "Oh think we're clever now, huh? Got a s p i n e ?" He dragged out the last word to add emphasis and venom to his words. To be honest, the Hispanic had no idea why he was acting this way to the girl. Any normal suicide would be crying, whimpering and thanking her for saving their life. Then again, who said the Navarro boy was normal? Shaking his head, he turned on heel, purposely emitting strong waves of overwhelming guilt within the radius level. Particularly aimed at Jessica. She may have been a telepathic, but, emotions effect everyone. No matter the strength of their mind capabilities. Blinking and keeping the waves present, at least until he got far enough, Pedro stuffed the key into his pocket, deciding to get something to eat from the cafeteria, considering how heavily his stomach was growling. "Adios. I'm going to the cafeteria now." He called out, wavering slightly in his power as distraction broke. As soon as he reached the end of the hall, Jessica would no longer feel such powerful, unneeded guilt... Waving it off, he slammed the door shut and strolled the opposite way...

[ Pedro to the cafeteria? ]
PostPosted: Sat Aug 30, 2008 8:07 pm

His words continued to sting her, not because of what he said, but because of who he was. If it was Justin she would just brush it off, that was who he was. Pedro being so bitter just didn't seem to fit; had saving his life really been quite the mistake? Honestly, she continuously asked herself said question, only to feel guilty in the end. At the current moment the guilt seemed to overwhelm her for whatever reason, which she oddly couldn't shake off. Thankfully, the boy had said he was going to the cafeteria, meaning he was going to get away from her. It was only moments later that he left, the guilt disappearing and her her headache subsiding. Relieved, she turned toward the shower, turning out the water. Quickly, Jessica stripped herself of her clothes and stepped into the hot shower, enjoying the scalding hot water that was pounding against her skin. She allowed herself to stay in the shower for quite some time, finding it quite the relaxing moment. Once she stepped out she would have to face more people. Though she would try and meet new people, get her mind off things.

After stepping out of the shower the girl immediately went to finish her morning routine. She threw on an outfit that was nothing special, just a white dress and a pair of pink heels. She then applied her make-up and put her various hair products into her hair. Sitting there and blow drying her hair was something she had no desire to do, so she decided to let her hair dry with it's natural loose curls, which she would probably pull into a pony tail later.

Pushing the thoughts of Pedro aside, Jessica then walked out of her dorm, not quite sure of her destination.

xXx Jayden xXx

User ImageJayden stepped into the dorm cautiously. Empty. The door had been locked, so she had figured as much. She found an unnoccupied bed and set her backpack down. The girl began to acquaint herself with the dorm for a moment before she decided to unpack. She folded her clothes pointlessly, knowing they would only become a wrinkled mess later, her things never stayed neat for long.

As she worked, Jayden put on her headphones, humming along to the music. She stopped only when she got to the framed pictures at the bottom of her bag. She hadn't remembered packing any photographs. She felt her throat close up as she fought tears when she examined the picture. When she had erased her father's memories, Jayden had no choice but to take away all of her father's pictures of her mother. She couldn't bring herself to destroy a single one. Her aunt must have taken the liberty of framing one of them, and sneaking it into her luggage. It was a photo of her mother and father, just after their wedding.

Jayden brushed her fingers agaist the glass frame where her mother was smiling up at her. She was so young in the photo, so vital. Jayden looked just like her mother, the same red hair, gold eyes, and thick lips. It was a bitter-sweet moment as she stared down at the picture, on the one hand Jayden loved having pictures of her mother around, it made her feel closer to her, on the other hand it was a reminder of how happy her parents had been before she'd come along.

She set the photo down on the nightstand and examined a second one left in her bag. This was one of her aunt and uncle, a reminder that she still had someone. She smiled to herself and set this photo down next to the other.

She had been taking her time packing, which was odd. She should be excited to go and meet everyone, but somehow she wasn't. It was almost as if she were afraid. "Heh, I haven't been afraid of meeting people since I was ten," Jayden laughed at herself. "I better go try and meet some other students."With this, Jayden left the dorm without a clue to where she was going.
