but I love to run.
However I am slow. My average 2 Mile is about 16.20, I can run a 15.00 but that kills me to do. What should I do to improve my time.

run more.... or work on your endurance type things like the eliptical or stair stepper. At least thats what Tony does, he hates to run though, he can max out his pushups and situp but his run is still a minute slow, thats all that kept him from going to the board for his e-5, now they are just finger jamming it to get him to the board.

Well if you don't wana look as dorky, with a parachute behind you (even though it would look bad a** at a track), wear ankle, and wrist weights under your pants legs, when your walking around. If you want your cardio better, do what i found out myself. Go swimming, find a nice deep spot, and go to the bottom. Try to hold your breath for as long as you can (you can use weights to hold your self at the bottom). When your at the surface, take 5 deep breaths then do it again. It helped me in cardio alot, it increases your muscles oxygen deprivation, pretty much your muscles can keep going even when your breathing heavily, also you won't feel like your going to die, after you push yourself to the limit. I don't know if it will help you, but it helped me.

For a run you should always be able to do twice the distance. So you should try jogging 4 miles when you work out on your own. It helps build up strength and endurance, it would be good since you said you like to run, and it makes doing your 2 miles seem like nothing in comparison.
For speed, sprints can help a lot. If you can hit a track, you could try jogging 2, 3 or even 4 miles and then do as many laps as you can where you walk the curves and sprint the straights. As that becomes too difficult or too far to sprint, try splitting the track up even more. Walk half a curve and then sprint the other half. Walk half a straight and then sprint the rest of the straight.
Machines at the gym can be good exercise and all, but they tend to work out different muscles and they just aren't the same as hitting the pavement. So unless you are allowed to do your eval on a machine, I would say it's better not to get used to one.

The only way to improve at running is to run. Wise words from my NCO. Dunno if you've ever done them or not, but 30-60s and 60-120s helped me out a good bit. I'm no runner myself but I'm at a 1420 (which still isn't that great) and it all came from that. Still can't sprint worth a damn though. Also, you can try finding somebody you know is a damn good runner and pacing them on a run, you do that long enough you'll definitely improve.

like everybody has said you just need to work on strength and endurance. I'm only 15 but can get 2 miles out in like 15 because i spent a lot of time trying to get a skill i have that my family doesn't, but yea try for it all and and far as the shut thing yea it would look cool but im not sure it would really help.

you really have to build up strength... I'm up every morning at 430, i run as far as i can, and walk back... i do that normally two or three times a day, along with my normal work outs, and fights with my friends...

The fastest I've ever ran my two mile was 11:40. xp
That was in 7th grade. I was 12. Now my foot is broken so I'm not allowed to, but I'm sure I could pull off WAY faster. So...
Really, best way to improve your running time is by running and doing other exercise. Lift weights, eat right, run, and exercise, basically it.
Also you can do sleds and parachutes (although that's basically the same as running). xp

My creditably is a 19:00 3 mile last pft and a 1:38 800 dash in highschool with shin splints in both legs and 2 bum ankles (had ACE bandages as socks). Like a few have said before, run more. In doing so you need to run far for endurance and sprint for speed. Swimming works wonders too. I have never worn weights around ankles and that can actually hurt you too by putting stress on your feet and also causing tendentious (inflamed tendons). You don't want to run all the time either, running is an impact exercise meaning it actually harms you by doing it ALL THE TIME (not scaring you from running just don't run ever day of the week i.e. run 2 days, swim 1, run 2, rest, go to church and pray for better time xd ). If you're gonna run with weight do so with a vest or well fitting pack (YAY PACK RUNS!), that being said, running with weight will slow you down over time, I got to train with Scout Snipers before I decided to do it or not and with my 19:00 3 mile before hand became a 19:48 self timed, and we ran a lot so it wasn't that i had gotten weaker. So overview: Run long distance at your pace steadily increasing distance, go to a track or known distance and sprint i.e. 100m 200m 300m 400m 300m etc., Swim to work endurance and give joints a break, breathe in nose out mouth.
