After a long hiatus of inactivity, I've decided to renew my participation with a new topic of discussion.
So, in all of the Tales games that you've played, of all the characters you've run across, good, evil, or indifferent, which clicks with your particular mindset? Are you a straightforward, honest hero-type cliche, or do you share sympathies with a villain who had a perfectly good reason? Or perhaps you are the nameless NPC that wanders the world, doing nothing more than surviving.
So I pose this question. My answer is that I am of the non-adventuring crowd. Unnecessary save for the minutia of knowledge gained from conversing with me.
So, fellow guilders, whom do you identify with?
This is not a "who do you wish you were," by the way.

Villains.
Dhaos: He was never really scheming, people were just retarded on Aselia.
Hugo: Corrupt businessmen always have more plans than meets the eye.
Miktran: ....okay, lame villain, my bad.
Shizel: She got pissed at the death of her husband (who wouldn't?) and then got possessed by a weird evil thing. That sucks.
Barbatos: Hitler goes down in history as one of the worst men ever, why the hell can't Barbatos be able to do the same?
Elraine: The extreme of religion
Mithos: Discrimination? War? A not-so-great long term plan could at least fix the problem for a bit. (Cause like, it all went back to hell in a hand-basket in Phantasia)
Rebirth: ....no comment
Van: ....I forgot what he did. He was a younger villain though, and he has a goatie. That's pimpin'
Ricther: .....what the ******** is your problem? No one cares about your dead friend and--- ew...... You look digusting.

Generally though, they get more trash-talk than the hero characters (and every game has at least one, if not more, hero characters that are pointless (COUGHTPRESEACOUGH) or bad).
....and they kill for fun. Yaaaaaaaay for homicide, =D.

Presea wasn't completely useless, though she probably was better off as an NPC...
And which was the one from Eternia? I never really got that far in it, so...

But why do you have a hero complex? More often than not they're jerks. If it weren't for the villain, they'd never have left their hometowns.

Hmm, this is hard to say..
I want to say the neutral npc crowd , but I want to say hero too
I would only really get involved for personal goals...
Much like a Tales of Legendia playable character, (using this as an example), Norma
She stopped Vaclav and Maurits so she has a world to look for the everlight in.
Wait wait that made NO SENSE
All the characters do that.. in most of the games..
Geez wasn't thinking

Eh... I'd probably be with the heroes...Sorta
I mean I even had a dream where I was some girl named Larsa that looked similar to Zelos but with dark hair....I had been sent to kill him to somehow prove that humans were easily manipulated and idiotic, but in the end I turned on the people that sent me *coughsomeweirdpsychodude* even though the guy had given me one of those nifty spheres which gave me wings like the Chosen get....
I'd be one of those anti-hero type people...I'm usually told that's the feeling I give off. Even my little cousin said I'd be one of those characters that goes bad then good.......Tch, yeah. put me under heroes xD
Although...I felt bad for Yggdrasil and I did feel bad when you choose to kill off a certain character....I have ties to both sides, really open minded.
As for which character? I'm not sure, I fall somewhere in between Zelos and Sheena.
I don't act how I really feel, had a bunch of people like me (lol,not intentionally...Happened in high school) and I am really not trusting with other people, even though I say I am... Oh and my childhood wasn't all that great. XD I have taken sides to get out of something I didn't want... I've taken back something I had been told to do that involved someone getting hurt, and in the end became friends with them...
O_o;; dang...Odd I am~!

I've come across this question thousands of times and have finally come to a conclusion
Pierre de Chaltier (Tales of Destiny, Leon's Swordian)-He's Goofy, easy going, carefree and devoted.
-That pretty much sums me up all together
As for Villains...do not ask me how my friends came across this but APPARANTLY
