Okay, I’m mad, confused and I’m about to go nuts. If someone doesn’t explain some things out for me, I’m really guna snap. I have some questions that I really don’t get. In Hebrews it says if you accept God and continue to sin, you will stop receiving his grace. That being said, I have some questions..

In Lev. It talks about not cutting your hair, not cutting your arms because it harms your body, no tattoos ext. Those are all old testament laws. So answer me this, why is it that people will say now, “it’s a sin to cut, its harming your body” yet they’ll say “its okay to get a tattoo caus its an old testament law” Their both old testament laws!!! Whats the difference?? On top of that, why is smoking not a sin, but cutting is? And will all of that, what if I don’t want to stop cutting, will God send me to hell for that? (Hebrews, continuing to sin, you’ll stop receiving grace) someone tell me. Am I going to hell? After all the years that I’ve prayed to God, God being there for me…if I can stop cutting but I don’t wan to, I’m not ready to…will I go to hell? Would God do that to me? Why is tattoos and smoking okay but not cutting…their both old testament!

I don't know what part of Hebrews you're talking about, but I think it means that if you sin while you're saved he'll maybe take a blessing away or something, but also not on all occasions. I do not believe it means that if you sin when saved you go to hell because no one on the planet gets saved and doesn't sin afterward, unless they are saved perhaps a fraction of a second before they die.

The rest of your questions can all be answered in one. It says somewhere in the Bible (not sure where) that your body is a temple of God. You are supposed to take care of it. As to whether or not those things are still exactly a sin, I'm not sure. I personally don't think tattoos or smoking or cutting is a sin, but it's something you shouldn't do in the last two cases. I don't see anything wrong with tattoos and I want to get one of a cross and a Bible verse when I'm 18.

Smoking is extremely bad because unless you take a shower, change clothes, and stay away from any other person at least 30 minutes after smoking each time, you can affect people because they are breathing second hand smoke that is still on you. I know this is true because my doctor, allergy/asthme doctor, and the doctor at the hospital all said so and I can also vouch for it because I have a VSD (a hole in my heart) asthme, and am allergic to smoke, so I am very bothered by it.

Cutting isn't bad for others around you, but it is bad for you. Another reason it's not good is because cutting is something that one does when depressed and that isn't a good sign to non-believers because they seem to think then that God doesn't bring the peace and happiness he promises. He does, we just don't always recieve it for several different reasons. There are a few methods that can be used like cutting but that don't actually harm you, while they still create some pain. I will admit I have done them before, though it's probably still not a great thing to do. I have never cut, but I have seriously considered it.

The method I used before was scratching myself on the lower arm with the finger nails. It causes quite a bit of stinging and while I suppose it might hurt your arms somewhat, it isn't nearly as dangerous or as bad for you physically. I've also heard, but never tried, holding and ice cube against your arm, in your hand, or wherever. If you hold an ice cube long enough, it certainly does sting, so that would be good too. These two things could be good to use if you want to try and quit. Just cut back from cutting and do these, then cut back on these so you aren't doing it. But it is totally your choice to cut or not.

No, I definitly don't think God would let you go to hell for that. Once you are saved, you are saved and there is no changing it. He still loves you, and sin will still get us while we are on the earth.

Something that I have come up with (or rather, God has told me to explain), a better way to define Christianity is that you are free. That means you are still free to sin if you want. You shouldn't sin, but you are free to. If one goes around purposely sinning all the time, then they probably aren't saved. Still, there are times when we consider doing things we know are sins, yet we do them anyway. That, to me, doesn't mean we aren't saved as long as those sins are occasionally, but are not good things for us to be doing. Once we are saved, we shouldn't want to do these things.

I can't say for sure that smoking, tattoos, or cutting are or aren't sins, but I think that you should just pray and listen to God about it. I've heard before that these three particular things might be a sin in God's eyes if one person does it, but not if another. The reason being because some people have problems with it and others don't. Such as one person could drink in moderation and it probably wouldn't be a sin, but if another person drinks, they may be prone to heavy drinking, so drinking could be a sin for them. Just listen to your conscience.

Well..from what I get... the old testament rules apply today..don't they? Like the 10 commandments...I think that if it feels wrong..then it's wrong. I mean why else would we have a guilty conscience?

What did really change between the rules of the old testament and new besides sacrificing? So I think that the rules still apply. If anything they are modified...but rules are set up to stay rules and should not need to be changed. Thus...again, what makes it okay to not follow them?

though I believe with the "keeping the body a temple" and only have ear piercings and nothing else. If that's what he says, then who am I to question?

Also, to what Shadowcat228 said about believers....I don't think that just because you were saved you will be saved forever..because people come and go...as in they believe and they don't...so that means that god isn't always going to be there for you...once you run off...he will eventually let you go. In john...I forgot if it was the first or the 2nd...but it said to us..tat if someone is too evil or something that we should let them go because then they will bring us down with him...And didn't god let go of Lucifer? Thus I think that one has to have good intentions..and yes we sin...but as long as we repent and realize it was rong and try not to do it again, then it's fine. Because we are human, and humans are not perfect..no matter how hard we try...

That's what I think.

I agree with u both. Although I do believe if u are saved, God can release u. he'll try his hardes to bring u back, but humans are the most stubborn people...
Rose, I don't think you're going to hell. I say release all the heaviness and ask God for help. He doesn't want u to stress over this, I think he wants you to talk to Him and listen to Him.
The best advice I have for you is to read your Bible and some verse will cry out to u and tell u wat to do. That's what it did for me. It helped me change my life around BIG TIME.

Well first Jesus came and told us that most of the old testament's laws can be ignored probably because many were strict and told us only to eat certain foods, act a certain way, all the laws Jewish people follow today. What God meant about harming your body the people who answered before me are correct.

And about the "continuing to sin", It means that if you accept God and you keep on with your old habits without putting your mind to it, then thats bad. Its not applied in the sense that if you have problems with swearing etc. and you'll go to hell (Which you will not) Its not a law that is there and strict but sorta like a moral law.

Also a resonse to Darknessfairy. As long as you believe that Jesus died for your sins and that he is the son of God you will forever be saved. You can't be unsaved unless you deny those two facts.
