The tall Norwegian woman walked happily through the gardens, pleased to see flowers in bloom, even if just for a short while, than the few that grew during the dead of winter. Delicately handling a couple of nice blooms to better smell them, she smiled as she continued on her way through the peaceful setting. Always watching, though, for a sudden appearance by Estrelas, the ever loud woman she'd met before, and her seemingly unwilling companion, Eponine. These two women confused Lokiari, and she made a note to herself to find time to meet them. Just as soon as she could locate one of them alone, that is.

Approaching a couple of decent trees, she found a nice bench below them and decided to take a seat and enjoy the sunlight while it lasted. Having had a feeling the peace and tranquility would last only for a short while, she wanted to take a seat and bask in it until the end of it all. Which, in the mountains, she knew would come all too soon. The Lotus headquarters were located deep in the mountains, hidden from the world, and with it brought the cold climate that many had difficulty adjusting to. But for Lokiari, it suited just fine - or would, rather, had she not grown accustomed to the beauty of spring and summer during her travels for Lotus. So it was with relish that she took a seat and arranged the blue cloth so that it wasn't uncomfortable or oddly placed, and leaned back to relax, a soft smile on her face.

With a yawn, Lokiari stretched and tilted her head against the trunk of the tree placed so near to the bench, content to merely relax in the peace of the moment, than continue to explore the gardens and chance running into someone loud who would break the quiet of it all.

It'd been hard on the young man to get used to the sudden weather changes, that wasn't a lie, and as Einar found himself dragging his feet around the LOTUS compound amidst the sudden warmth he wished for the cold to come back.

It'd grown too hot for him to stay in his usual uniform that practically was as close to him as his own skin, so today the fact that the young Norwegian man had to wear something different irked him.

It wasn't that he had such pride in his clothes that he didn't ever want to take them off, it was more or less that they were comfy, had a nice color scheme, and covered pretty much all of his body. Without that coverage at least some of his skin was exposed, and therefore some things that could be asked about where exposed, and he didn't like that fact.

Still he found himself now dressed in calf-length khaki shorts and an aframe t-shirt, the best he could come up with help him cope with the heat, and as his footsteps dragged him ever onwards he hoped he didn't come into contact with anyone or anything as he made his way to the Gardens, which had slowly become his favorite spot.

Lokiari had actually began to doze off when she heard footsteps treading lightly in the brush in the garden. It wasn't that they were overly loud steps, or anything, they were just a lot closer than Lokiari had anticipated and so with a slight start she opened her eyes and began to look around. Tilting her head to one side out of curiosity, she realized that she did not recognize this man - another new recruit, perhaps? As she debated with herself on whether or not to interrupt his walk - and her nap - in order to introduce herself and inquire into why he was at Lotus, he drew ever nearer.

Finally allowing her curiosity to take over, she said in a mild Norwegian accent, "Hello, there!" Feeling only mildly awkward, she flashed a grin and patted the seat next to her, scooting over just a bit to give the man ample room on the bench.

"How are you today?"

Sure, she was unbelievably curious and was being just a wee bit loud about calling the man over, but hey - it was a beautiful day and so long as the company was interesting, company was better than sitting alone. Especially since she'd been falling asleep - all she needed was to doze off and have Estrelas find her like that. With how that woman had behaved at their first meeting, she'd be lucky to escape without something drawn on her face!

Startled by a sudden greeting in a thick accent that sounded overly familiar Einar turned his head towards the source and was surprised to see that he was greeted by a woman. It surprised him because he was beginning to think that, other than Shee, he'd stumbled into an agency full of nothing but men. It also surprised him because her accent sounded so close to one that he'd recently heard so he thought he'd try something easier than asking right off.

"Hei! Hvordan har du det?"

Einar figured this would kill two birds with one stone for him and, seeing as how he didn't like putting much effort into things when it was hot out, it seemed to be the better deal on his side. Either this woman would know what he was saying and respond back to him properly or she wouldn't have any idea.

It was as simple as that.

Mildly amused at the apparent surprise on Einar's part about her sudden hailing, Lokiari barely bit back a chuckle. This desire to chuckle was quickly subdued; however, when the man responded in Norwegian. Her jaw nearly dropped over the surprise of being greeted in her native tongue, before it quickly turned to glee. Nearly shouting out with joy, a large grin lit her face as she responded "Fint, takk! Og du?"

Hardly even pausing to wait for a response, she raised an eyebrow and peered up at the man, "Hvor kommer du fra?" She was largely interested on if he was from Norway - and if so, from the future or the past, or from what was, in her mind "modern Norway"...or at the least, what city he was from. The fact that there was someone she might be able to talk Norwegian to and talk about home fascinated her in no small part, and lifted her spirits immensely. It wasn't often, after all, that one stumbled upon anyone who was from the same - or a similar - nation as you were at Lotus. In fact, she wasn't even sure if there was more than one person from each nation residing in Lotus. A fact that sometimes plagued her insatiable curiosity, but a question she knew she'd likely never have answered.

Tipping her head back against the base of the tree, she smiled at Einar, pleased at the thought of there being a second Norwegian at Lotus - and happy to have heard her native tongue once again after so long away from it.

"Bare bra, takk."

Eianr couldn't surprise his own childish grin of delight at being hailed back in Norwegian, the woman before him clearly almost ready to jump out of her skin at him. At this point in time Einar wasn't that aware of the situations involving the people that lived in LOTUS, how it was very rare to meet someone who spoke the same language as you (other than English, apparently), let alone someone who was from your native land.

"Jeg kommer fra NOrge, through probably not from the same time as you."

He slipped out of his native tongue into English halfway into the sentence on accident, his mind and mouth getting so used to using that dominant language while being here. By no means was he unable to speak Norwegian fluently anymore, that was impossible as no man would forget the proud tongue of his homeland, it was just that English would probably be easier to explain to any passerby who happened upon the chattering duo.

"Hva heter du? Jeg heter Einar. Einar Willason."

While he thought of what else to say to Lokiari should she prompt him more, he mused over her appearance. Typical Norwegian woman, he chuckled to himself, with her height and hair and eyes.

Happy at hearing her native tongue, and amused that Einar also seemed delighted at the talk, she settled for grinning up at him, before reminding herself that always grinning wasn't necessarily a good thing and calming herself down. Well, as much as one could when one was extraordinarily giddy over discovering something that made your spirit soar. Lokiari nodded slightly at the english half of what he said, she doubted they were from the same time, and she quickly gave her own answer, "Jeg kommer fra Oslo, Norge."

With a small tilt of her head, she nearly asked him if he would be more comfortable speaking in English, than in Norwegian, but just as she moved to ask, he spoke again. Unable to resist another smile at the fact she'd forgotten to introduce herself, she held out a hand as he mentioned his name was Einar Willason, and she grinned, "Jeg heter Lokiari." While it wasn't her real name, it was the one she used at Lotus, and so it would have to do. If he wanted the true name, and realized that wasn't exactly a...Norwegian name, then she'd concoct a story to tide him over - or maybe tell him the truth if he persuaded her well enough.

"Lokiari, eh? If I'd have known we were going to be allowed to go around with something akin to an alias I would have picked something out by now. something better than Einar, that's for sure."

Einar switched entirely to English as he reached out and took Lokiari's hand, shaking it down once before quickly letting go and moving it against his side. He still felt a little uneasy being out here in such exposing clothing, but the boy was hot and had little other options. Short of always hugging a fan or spending his time in a place where no hot air could reach he would have to own up and learn to wear short clothing.

"So what brings you out here on such a nice...day...?"

He was running out of things to say right from the beginning.

When Einar quickly picked up on the fact that she was using an alias, Lokiari couldn't suppress the chuckle that came out. Most people just assumed it was her true name, and that suited her just fine. A quick shrug followed a wink as she quipped, "A rose called by any other name smells as sweet, right? So regardless what name I go by - I'm still me." Her wit seemed to be a little tried when presented with someone who came across as sort of questioning her. It bothered her just a little that he'd noted her name was an alias, but she had no intent on telling him the truth of her name unless he asked specifically first. And there would, of course, be a price. There always was with new intel.

The switch to English was easy for her, and didn't really perturb her as she'd grown accustomed to it being the dominant language during her time at Lotus. Smiling at the way the man seemed perplexed over whether to call the rather warm weather of the day "nice" or not, she couldn't help but inquire, "Which part of Norway are you from, anyhow?" If he was from the North, that would certainly explain his dislike of the warmth. With a small shrug, she added, "I came out here to enjoy the day. How about you?"

With that, she stretched her arms and legs, not really accustomed to simply sitting around all day long, before looking back up at the man. "You can sit, you know. I don't bite." A quick flash of teeth was soon followed by the quip, "Not often, anyway."

It was a mixture of pure luck and a strong guess that lead Einar to believe that Lokiari was an alias - as he'd never heard any woman in his country and in his time addressed by that. It didn't register in history books or in the pages of the family registries that he often looked at for fun, so he knew it was either an alias or a very, very uncommon name. He was mildly pleased that he'd stuck with thinking of it as an alias based on her reaction.

"If I had money for every time someone told me they didn't bite, I'd have gained a small fortune just by being in this building. I wonder if that's the common phrase of everyone around here."

Einar sat without any further trouble or manners next to the woman, propping the ankle of his left leg against his right knee. Sitting like this helped him relax a bit, as it reminded him of days gone by or something, and he stretched his arms upward as he took a deep breath of air. The heat was slowly getting to him and making the youth a little weary and in want of a nap, but since he'd barely gotten out of bed just a little earlier and was expected to not be a complete bum, he opted into staying awake. For now.

"I'm outside because I want to be, to answer your question. I prefer the outdoors to being crammed inside a room somewhere, where it's dark and people talk too much."

Unable to resist the urge to stick her tongue out at Einar when he said he'd be rich if people kept promising they didn't bite, she did just that before finally responding, "I didn't say I never bite. Just that its not often that I do." Another flash of teeth as she grinned, before he sat down next to her and stretched out. Feeling almost as if she were intruding, she found herself wanting to scoot another inch or two over to give him more room, she refused just so that he wouldn't have anything to tease her about. Which she had a funny feeling he would be liable to do if he ever found anything to use.

Glancing around at the many trees and flowers in the garden, she found herself relaxing and almost zoning out until the person next to her spoke again. With a small chuckle, she nodded in agreement, "The garden is beautiful today, so outdoors is infinitely better than being stuck inside." With a quick check around the gardens to ensure Estrelas wasn't around, she added, "Though, sometimes outdoors gets more than a bit noisy than it does inside. Depends on who is around."

Following suit to old tradition, she knocked lightly on the bench they sat on, as it was made of wood, in the hopes that maybe her luck wouldn't totally run out and Estrelas wouldn't come barging in, screaming and shouting at everyone that was around. Or pulling that poor Eponine around...

"So far all the people I've met here seem to be the quiet type, though I'm sure there's someone out there who can wake the dead with their voice alone. I just haven't come around to see them yet."

Inwardly Einar hoped he'd never have to deal with someone loud enough to annoy a fellow Norwegian, as he tended to assume most of his fellow countrymen had similar temperaments to his own. Able to tolerate many things like loud noises, cold weather, really annoying birds....

"The Norway from my time would leave you devastated if you like the scenery here, that is unless you're from then and already have an idea of what it's like."

He was being vague in his description since he wasn't sure when she was from, and he honestly didn't think she'd tell him.

At the mention of someone who's voice could wake the dead, Lokiari couldn't help but laugh. She knew just such a person, in fact! With a grin, she acknowledge to Einar, "Oh, there is such a person. Here, at Lotus, in fact. You'll know her when you meet her." Nodding sagely, she continued in a sly tone, "And her rabbit, too." Come to think of it, Lokiari hadn't run into Estrelas or Angel for a little while. She wondered just where the girl had gotten off to - she intended on investigating why she behaved in such a bizarre manner. Someday, at least.

As Einar spoke again, Lokiari's attention returned back to their conversation and she frowned at his mention of being devastated at the Norway from his time. When he spoke of it like that, she was fairly sure that meant he was from an entirely different time than she. Most likely from a time in the future - maybe those weird religious fanatics had been right, after all. Part of her was amused by the thought of that, though she did her best not to let it show on her face.

A slight shrug lifted her shoulders, "I like the outdoors here, though I can't say I don't miss Norway sometimes." Glancing around at the wondrous shrubbery in the garden, she began to grow curious at just what Einar's time must be like then, that the enjoyment of this garden would leave her devastated in his time. Though she was very tempted to ask after that, she instead chose to pick a different topic, "So. What do you think of the gardens here?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 15, 2008 9:45 am

"...if she's anything like she sounds like, or how you describe her, than I'd rather avoid an encounter if possible. I don't do well with loud noises. And as for the gardens, well...I haven't seen this many flowers in years. Probably since I was fifteen or so, can't remember my exact age. It's been a while, anyway."

That didn't answer her question, so he continued on.

"I really like it here. It's not as impressive as the one I saw my first day here with Shee, but then again I don't think I should take anything for granted."

Einar was debating on whether or not his time spent with Shee in her personal garden was something he should be talking about, as the girl had said she had only brought him and her brother there. He treated it like a miniature treasure, his own little secret.

As he thought of Lokiari saying she missed Norway sometimes, he felt like he should say he did as well, considering the last time he'd really been in his home country was a little over two years ago. Since the recruitment he'd always been out doing something, never back in familiar woods.

"I haven't seen most of these flowers before regardless of when they were still around, as I think most have gone extinct before my time. Really bad weather isn't good for growing things. You'd think our people would have learned to avoid frosts, right?"

Lokiari grinned, Estrelas and her rabbit Angel were just such a pair. But Einar would learn that in time. She had a sneaking suspicion that Angel had every intention of meeting every male in LOTUS and testing the taste of their pants. And someday, she was sure she'd find out just why this rabbit had such a bizarre dislike for men and such a hankering for eating their pants. There had to be some kind of reason for it. Mentally the Norwegian woman shrugged off that train of thought as she returned her full attention to Einar, shifting slightly on her spot on the bench. She was unaccustomed to sitting still for too long and found herself growing mildly bored with sitting and staring at the flowers.

It did spark her interest, though, that he hadn't seen flowers in such a long time. Granted, it told her absolutely nothing about his age, except that he was older than 15 - a fact that was more than obvious to anyone with half a brain. Or the fact that he enjoyed the sight of flowers, but had grown accustomed to not seeing them on a regular basis.

When Shee was brought up, her interest was only piqued even more. That was one person she'd been unable to meet up with so far, and that small detail bothered her. She was greatly interested on finding out more details on the woman, but did not want to seem too interested in her. Asking too many questions would only show Einar that she'd never met Shee - the sister of her boss, Wraith.

As a slight wind picked up and Einar finished talking, she gave a small laugh, "You would think that. But then, people rarely figure things out until its all hind sight. An unfortunate matter for human kind, but something we never seem to come out of." It was the truth, but probably not the proper lighthearted manner of response he was looking for. Glancing over at the flowers before turning her peripheral vision back to the man next to her, she asked, "So how was the garden you saw with Shee, in comparison to this one?"

Was it possible he had seen the garden that Shee was rumored to have? It was supposed to be gorgeous, but so little was known as fact about the woman that seemed to barely even exist, that Lokiari didn't know for sure anything about her. She would just have to find her and talk to her. That was that.
