The Blood hierarchy and social cast system is complex to say the least. Each person has a social ranking and a Jewel ranking. Darker jewels are more powerful than Lighter Jewels and thus are respected for their strength. But Jewels do not dictate social ranking. A Black Jeweled Warlord Prince for instance, can have the social ranking of a slave.

Some ranks can be mixed together. For example, Damien and Saetan are both Black Widows and Warlord Princes. Jaenelle, Karla, and Gabrielle are Queens, Black Widows, and Healers.

You can choose to be any social class you choose as far as being a queen, black-widow, a healer, a priestess etc.
The only thing you don’t choose is your jewel rank, this is to be fair, not everyone can be a black jeweled queen.

The ranks are listed from highest to lowest.

Ranks

Queen:
A witch who rules the Blood. She is considered to be the land's heart and the Blood's moral center, as such; she is the focal point of their society.

Warlord Prince:
A dangerous, extremely aggressive Jeweled male. Slightly lower than a Queen in rank.

Black Widow:
A witch who heals the mind. She weaves the tangled webs of dreams and visions, and is trained in illusions and poisons. There are only two male Black Widows in the history of the Blood.

Priestess:
A witch who cares for Alters, Sanctuaries and Dark Alters. She witnesses handfasts and marriages, as well as performs offerings. She is equal in status to a Prince and a Healer.

Prince:
A Jeweled male. Often used as the formal title for a Warlord Prince.

Healer:
A witch who heals physical wounds and illnesses. She is equal in status to a Prince and a Priestess.

Witch:
A Blood female who wears Jewels but isn't one of the other hierarchical levels. It also refers to any Jeweled female.

Warlord:
A Jeweled male.

Blood Male:
A general term for all males of the Blood. It also refers to any Blood male who doesn't wear jewels.

Blood Female:
A general term for all females of the Blood. It mostly refers to any Blood female who doesn't wear Jewels.

Landen:
Non-Blood of any race Male and Female.

Jewels

To receive your jewel rank you must complete a full profile. “Works in progress” will not receive their birthright jewel.

When creating a profile you are agreeing to any and all rules of this guild so please read them, you will be held responsible for following them.

Birthright Jewel ceremonies are done at the age of six.

To make the offering please go to The Dark Alter sub-forum.

Opal is the dividing line between lighter and darker Jewels because it can be either. When making the Offering to the Darkness, which happens at the age of twenty, a person can descend a maximum of three ranks from his/her Birthright Jewel. For instance, Birthright White could descend to Rose.

From lightest ranking jewel to the darkest ranking jewel.
