Welcome all! This is the Fanfic section, where those of you who just don't feel that art is their forte, but can write incredibly well, can post short stories and fanfics about the characters used in the roleplay. These stories can range from the poems, to the 20-chapter novels you see on stores today. Before we can begin to use our creative writing, there are a few things that need to be mentioned here.

Tips & TricksOk, this section is sorta long, as I will be explaining how your fanfic can be made better or sound neater. I'm not saying I'm perfect either, heck, I can't write worth crap! sweatdrop I can sure draw though... Now, let's look at a couple of writing techniques and terms:Literature - All writing that deals with human experiences and universal ideas in an accurate manner.--------------------------------------------- Figurative Language These are the terms used to describe certain items or phrases in a story.Simile- direct comparison between unlike thingsEx: Jill swims like a fish. I'm as busy as a bee. It is as soft as silk. Jack runs like a deer.--------------------------------------------- Metaphor- an implied comparison, doesn't use specific words.Ex: The stars are hard chips of light. The river of life is not easy to navigate. A thin ribbon of smoke floated in the sky.LiteralMy old car is hard to drive. The hayloft was hot.SimileMy old car drives like a tank. The hayloft was as hot as a blast furnace.MetaphorMy old car is a tank! The hayloft was a blast furnace.--------------------------------------------- Personification- treating objects, animals, or things like humans.Ex: Money talks. Wind whistles. The darkness swallowed the man.--------------------------------------------- Onomatopoeia- uses the sound of a word to imitate the sounds made by the thing being described.Ex: "ding-dong" "buzzes" "hissed" "splashed"--------------------------------------------- Symbol- a concrete objectused to represent an abstract ideaEx: The sea symbolizes life. A rock symbolizes strength. A flower symbolizes fragile beauty--------------------------------------------- Synecdoche- name substitution; As time passes, one word, or at least a part of an object, can replace another closely-related phraseEx: Many "head" of cattle. Construction worker -> hardhat Reporters -> the press--------------------------------------------- Hyperbole- an overstatement; exaggerationEx: "I'll die if I don't pass that test!" "I have a thousand things to do."--------------------------------------------- Meiosis- understatement, uses language that is less than expected or opposite of what is expectedEx: "You did pretty well, saving the world and all!"--------------------------------------------- Alliteration- the occurence of two or more words in succession having the same beginning soundsEx: Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.--------------------------------------------- Allusion- refers to a well known idea or event. Can also refer to history or people.Ex: "Remember that time we used to play ball in the park?"

I have a question: Am I allowed to post a poem that is not about my character? Some lines of the poem I wrote were inspired to write because of my character, but the poem is about when Cloud lays Aeris in the water after she died in Final Fantasy VII.

gonk Oh thank God! I have other poems too, but I feel that this one is my best yet. Saddest yet too.
Note: I wrote this poem when I saw Cloud laying Aeris in the water after she died, in a trailer for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. I have never played ANY games from the Final Fantasy series, though I desperately wish to someday. This poem is dedicated to Bluelaguna.net because that is the site of where I saw the trailer that made me write this poem. And also to Kage Sennin for telling me the characters names after I wrote it. sweatdrop
Title: Aeris Year: 2005 Author: Carrie (Me. mrgreen ) How Long It Is: 15 Lines Genre: Video Game
I lay her in this water, thinking how beautiful she is, how much life still flows through her, even in death. This water, will become her place of forever rest. As I lay her down, A sorrow like no other fills my heart, knowing life will never flow again through her veins, That her lips will never smile again or touch my own. She gave me everything she had and was, so I could live. She saved me, time after time, whether from the darkness, or from myself. She saved me, and because of all this, a deep sorrow like no other takes over me as my tears simply add more depth to this water... How could she let me live, knowing she would die?

Why can't we have Vulgar scenes. And when you mentioned Vulgar does that count in gore, violence and swearing?

burntmill Why can't we have Vulgar scenes. And when you mentioned Vulgar does that count in gore, violence and swearing? That is a very good question. I mean detailed sex and completely unneeded swearing. Gore is acceptable, as long as it's not freakish or would make someone vomit across their monitor or keyboard. Remember, some people have good imaginations... sad

I've been thinking about writing a short story about Oni's childhood and how he became the lovable guy he his today. If I find time, I might just do so...
