Well, I got seriously introduced to anime in 2001, which coincided with me getting high speed internet for the first time. Started by re-watching Sailor Moon in Japanese, realized how much more awesome it is, then got introduced to Hellsing by my friend.
He went to Anime North 2003, and told me how great it was and then he wanted to cosplay at AN04. Since we were both big into Hellsing, we decided to make Integra and Alucard costumes. I just feel in love with it.

See, I used to say that I would never ever dress as a Sailor Senshi. Then I cosplayed as Star Fighter. So I changed it to a Senshi that wear skits, and then I somehow volunteered for Myu Jupiter. (I still don't know how that happened).
I don't ever want to cosplay from any of the really popular series, or series that were really over done in the past. Naruto, Death Note, Bleach, Ouran is getting up there. That I know I will stick to.

well, maybe they were too specific of rules in the first place? like saying I won't have that cookie? or perhaps your preferences changed as you got older?
