I prefer, Ink'd was it? With Heart and Huntington in Las Vegas?

Those guys did some good art :]

Kat Von D, she does some good portraits, but i don't like her as a person =(

* Which ones do you like?

* Is there a reason you like it?

Wow, I love Kat! L.A. Ink is my favorite show. I use to love Miami Ink, but those guys have more drama then the girls in L.A.. I liked Inked too, especially when Thomas left and took the drama with him and they got down to tattooing instead. In fact, my daughter and husband and I hope to go to Vegas in Dec and I plan on going to Hart and Huntington to get my Atomic symbol done on the back of my neck. Here's hoping, we are trying to save up to go, but we'll have to see. biggrin

I don't like any of them.
They're all so dramatic and I dislike the people.
After working in a high end tattoo and piercing shop, those TV shows just seem so fake to me. Plus, a lot of the time the artists aren't even that good. Like Kat kind of sucks at anything that isn't a portrait. (Her portraits are really nice though.)

Not too hard core into watching them myself because they get boring but i did really enjoy ink'd and i have watched a few miami ink and la ink .. but you can pick apart alot of s**t within the shows to say " ok ummm that isn't suppose to look like that. how come that portraits eyes dont match with the pics"

The people they tattoo on Ink'd have gone into the shop after roaming the Casino and drinking .. your not suppose to get a tatt if you have been drinking.. Next problem .. LA Ink a skate ramp in the shop in front of the door???? umm no thanks .. people can get taken out right on their way in not so cool... Miami Ink .. why are they tavelling to other shops if theirs is so great??????

NEXT ISSUE

TALKING while tattooing .. I can understand answer yes and no questions give a little feed back here and there BUT starting the conversation keeping it going and not shutting up at all like dude I am in pain I don't want to talk right now .

ALSO what about the people who are getting the tattoo you can't tell me that EVERYONE who walks into a tatt shop can TOTALLY tolerate the pain of ANY tatt it's impossible but these people who they are filming have no pain the whole time they are getting it done .. how the @#!* is that possible ?????????

They just might not show the people who make a big fuss about it. Though it would be amusing to watch, it might not give off the best impression of the shop to viewers. Plus people generally build up a tollerance to the pain after the first little while.

Recently converted Miami Ink fan, checking in. I watch it mostly because I love anything tattooing and it's great to have on in the background while I draw. The buzz of the tattoo machines in the background keep me motivated. xd

As for why they travel and so on, sure you might have a great shop, but you're only either tattooing the locals or die hard fans willing to trek cross country to see you. If you get out and travel- do the guest artist thing- you have a chance to tattoo people that never would have been able to see you and grow your reputation. It really works more the other way where if you aren't traveling, how good are you?

As for talking during tattooing, a lot of people would rather talk than stare at the ceiling for a few hours, and when you're in that much pain in can be hard to think of ice breakers. Every time I sit down for a tattoo, I'm asking for tips and advice. I call it mentoring with a free tattoo thrown in.

It's totally understandable when someone is getting a tat to start a convo with their artist .. but for the artist to start it .. well personally i would rather them be concentrating on doing my ink rather then what to say to me next to help me get over the pain .. personally

I'm kind of with Teayo on this one.
But the pain isn't my reason for not wanting them to talk to me. I just am quite antisocial, and dislike awkward forced conversations. If something comes up and we talk about it, great. But I don't want to have the generic getting your tattoo done conversation.

Lucky for me I'll never have to have a stranger tattoo me, which makes things a lot less awkward.

The same here. I totally agree that Miami Ink did turn dumb! Especially after Kat left and after Ami and Nunez opened their bar. gonk

We don't have anything but an antenna, so we can't watch any of the shows.

I think Kat Von D is a tad overrated. I mean, she does do some good work, but she just seems... stupid, for lack of a better term. lol

I used to watch Miami Ink, and Ami, Nunez, and Garver are the only decent artists. Who am I kidding? Chris Garver is amazing, and so is Ami. Nunez is good, too. But the new guy [I can't remember his name] and Kat just got old quick for me.

When that show turned into "reality tv" I stopped watching. It wasn't about the ink any more!

That kinda sucks.
