My friends and I were the Haruhi crew this year, and long story short after the con I went ont he forum and a LOT (I mean a LOT) of people were complaining about us. Apparently we did the Hare Hare Dance too much, when really we only did it when A) Someone asked so they could record it B) Someone wanted to do it with us or C) When we were practicing, which we only did outside AWAY from the con.
It made me really depressed. I mean, I didn't think people were so fickle that they would actually complain about something so trivial.
What do you guys think? Has that ever happened to any of you? It was a major blow to MY self-esteem and makes me not want to go to anime cons anymore... sweatdrop

I don't understand why it bothered them so much. I mean, isn't that what cons are for? It's not like we practiced the dance for a whole six months or anything...
It just really hurt my feelings. DX

Yeah, we practiced away because (and this is the funny part) we didn't WANT people to think we were doing it too much. We were in the talent show thing and we did it up there, so we did it away from the con so people would be surprised, you know? Eh... *Sighs and curls up* It's just so mean. They were, like, seriously complaining and saying how much we sucked, even though we were good at the dance. We 'sucked' because we actually DID the dance, I guess. None of the other Haruhi's or Mikuru's (No other Yuki's, I was the one and only) knew it very well. >.<

The only time I remember seeing it at the con was outside later in the evening when I was going home. I don't really think there was much hare-hare-yukai-ing IN the con tho, and I didn't hear anybody complaining.

Awww~ People just like to hate on everything. Don't let it get to you. I know what you mean though, I just think people can be rather insensitive. I mean it's not like you're bothering them. I think some people get bothered enough outside of conventions about anime. CONVENTIONS SHOULD BE ALL ACCEPTING OF SUCH THINGS!
