((its probably about time we got this moving))
Lanas sat outside the princesses camber, the hilt of his sword casually held in his hands, balancing the tip on the ground. She had been edgy lately, almost like she was nervous about the engagement, which wasn't like her, she away was so calm about her duties as heir to the throne. He often wondered what it was like, to have so much power but so little freedom, Lanas always had so much choice in his life.
Still he glad she had found a way to bring peace, she would probably go down in history as a saviour, no more war, even though as a royal bodyguard who hadn't been fighting he was still overjoyed, no more of his friend and family would die.
his heard the sound of trumpets in the court yard, it must have been the Vampire ambassador, sent to escort the princess, "I wonder if he brought any handmaidens with him" he thought to himself, Vampire women were said to have beauty like no others, a natural defence to seduce prey and to break the hearts of predators, or so he was told. But unfortunately he was allowed to go see, the princess was to be watched day and night till the wedding, so until his partner got here, all he could do was imagine

The Prince of the vampire clan sat in his room brooding gloomily. This was unlike him, as he was usually out particitpating in some sport or at least in his library pouring over his books. But today he just sat, staring out the window, and thinking. He had alot to think about. He had been betrothed. That wasn't so bad. But his mother had neglected to tell him until the very last possible second. And he had never even seen this person before. He could only pray that she was at least bearable. But that wasn't the only reason he sat. There had been a darkness gathering, and his keen royal vampire senses had picked it up when no one else had. Something bad was going to happen. he could feel it. And then there were all the new mercenaries and advisors that the Queen had recently imported from the newly formed city state adjacent to the Vampiric Domain. They were a strange group, highly varied, and democratic. But something about them...whether it was their sun and sand weathered faces, or their darkened tan skin starkly contrasting the vampires', or the hard, severe eyes that they all seemed to have in common, he could not tell. But it was bad news. He was usually very welcoming of outsiders from other lands, sometimes to a fault. Other cultures inrigued him greatly, but these people of the sand, could they be trusted? There was a knock at the door that suddenly tore him from his thoughts. Casting off the gloom that had taken him, he resumed his usually vital personality. "Come in." In walked Eck, one of the loyal servants who had been serving the Prince since before he was even born. "Sir, the Queen wishes to remind you that the princess will be arriving soon, and perhaps you may want to do something, either in preparation, or as a...I believe she called it a "final fling" before you are married." The Prince smiled. "Ah, Eck, an excellent suggestion. What would you recommend?" Eck nodded thoughtfully. "Well sire, you could always do a little fencing, or perhaps a hunt? Or...if your Highness is in the mood, perhaps a visit to the colleseum? Who knows if the Lycans are accepting of such traditions? Your future queen may object to your participation." The prince nodded in acknowledgement of this statement. "Yes, you're right...I might just do that." And so he left, making his way out of the Castle, and heading out into the courtyard. Before he went to the colleseum, there was someone he wanted to invite. Probably his closest friend, and a true asset when fighting tag-team in the ring. Hopefully he would find him.
