So I need some new shirts, because I've got mostly just plain t-shirts. I'm planning on making something, I have fairly crappy sewing skills but my friend is pretty good and she can help me. Anyways, I'm slightly clueless about what to make. Can anyone give me some ideas for some nice loli-style shirts? I'd like some patterns or maybe just post some pictures of shirts you like?

Thanks.

What kind of style are you into? More cute or more goth?

I'd say a good staple item in a lolita wardrobe is a cut-sew or two. Basically a decorated t-shirt with puffed sleeves (either long or short), or with juliet style sleeves (I really like this style, it's like a straight long sleeve attached to the bottom of a short puffed sleeve).

For gothic/punk lolita style, the union jack shirt the person above me posted is good too. Basically, try to get a plain button up shirt, either black or white, short or longsleeved (but not puffed sleeves), and exaggerated points at the collar (which is usually bigger than a normal shirt collar) and the bottom edges for a stylized touch. You could add buckles or chains or embroidery, pretty much anything you want.

For almost any gothic & lolita style a staple item is a white (and/or black for gothic) puffed sleeve, large peter pan collar-ed, fairly plainly decorated button-up blouse.

I should suggest o start off with a long sleave button up shirt or a short sleeved blouse.

I allways wanted to make this shirt:

The site is really good because you get to see the layout.

Also if you are just going out real quick try Mandees or any teenager place to go to. Mandees has a lot of classic things and some corsets. And I was supprised what those teenager preppy stores have. Lots of busters and corsets.
