SO. I have NO IDEA if anyone will ever see this since the guiled is DED, but I am practicallyl glowing right now and have to post this anyway.

Anyway. I've been saying all along that Gelphie femslash is cannon in the book but not in the musical. I've been proven correct by none other than Gregory Maguire himself in the paper. As Wicked is coming back to my city, there's been loads of stuff about it. Ahem.

Sunday Paper
Then a year before the San Francisco premiere, there was a full reading for 100 people, and he [Maguire] found himself "impressed, even moved' - until the surprise happy ending. But he realizes that a musical comedy is a different beast than an artful adult novel. And he feels the tradey he wrote is still present in the death of the romance between Elphaba and Glinda. So "I forgive the slightly Disneyfied ending."

Eat that.
