Hey there, welcome to the Plot Think Tank. Here in LoSI, we value our members and their ideas as a player does his fans. You guys are like the water to our pools… the arrows to our bows… the nets to our hoops… and the balls to our games in general.

Every great game needs an audience. It’s no secret that we crew dedicate much of our time to these plotlines you will hopefully grow to love. But see, that’s the beauty of a role-play. You can be a player and a spectator all at once. This area has been set aside for you to converse with other members and the crew to not only familiarize yourselves, but discuss this creation you’ve become an asset to.

Exchange ideas, make predictions, commentate! It’s like an advanced OOC. Brainstorm, share a laugh, make side-stories for your characters! Another great idea would be to follow-up on your own story. Create your own thread to monitor and update as your character progresses. We appreciate ANY means of dedication.

If you’ve got an opinion or an idea for any aspect of this guild or the projects it sponsors throughout Gaia, by all means, share it! We’ll have a special thread set aside for criticism… and only the good kind. We’ll also have the ability (for dedicated members), with permission (given at the crew’s discretion), for someone to create a side role-play that takes up only one thread here in the Plot Think Tank. There will be a couple of separate rules for this.

In summary, this is a place for you. Up until the end of LoSI’s previous attempt, I myself was a member. So I hope to get everyone more familiar with each other here. I would love to see a few members control various subplots (which would, of course, relate to the plot as subplots do). This forum is your place to talk LoSI with the crew and especially other members.

I mentioned the opportunity to create other role-plays.

Basically, when you’ve become dedicated enough to the real role-play and if you request this opportunity, we may grant you the ability to create a role-play that takes up one thread. Hopefully it’ll focus on your character and it will be LoSI related. However, it does not have to take place in Delmor. It could be an alternate reality all together.

For example, Austin Aires, Eagle Eye, has a far more twisted life at home than I will show here in this guild RP. So perhaps, in time, I’d like to develop him more and represent this home life, making a more separate series dedicated to Eagle Eye. But of course, I’d allow all of you to hitch on for the ride, creating a plot that would inspire your desire to aid.

Now, in these role-plays, there would be absolutely no godmoding. This means you will NEVER steal a character that is not your own, whether this is a separate RP or not, don’t plan on stealing Captain Pasty from Atrox Saint. Before you open your role-play, one of the crew members must okay it. If we feel that you’ve become more dedicated to this thread-RP than the guild RP, we will give you a week's warning. If there is not improvement, we may lock your thread until further notice.

This idea is fragile and new, so if it’s not working out, it will be renounced all together. Hopefully everyone will cooperate enough to make this as it was envisioned… as a beneficial thank-you for your contributions to LoSI.

NPCs

NPCs are Non-Playable-Characters. These things were real buggers in the past, so let’s just set a few ground rules in their usage.

For those of you unfamiliar, NPCs are the characters you’ve created that influence your main character’s life. Perhaps it is a mother, brother, nephew, friend, etc. The staff and teachers are NPCs created open to everyone. Naturally, their made to be mentioned in passing. I myself commonly used NPCs to better my character’s story last time.

This and many other events raised questions as to what proper NPC usage rights are. With different sides and contributions, the crew decide on this:

-An NPC may be given value towards a player’s storyline, so long as it is a personal storyline. When there are players together, NPCs should not be present. However, during those periods when a character is not interacting with others (these times should be those that transition into upcoming events, as the focus of a role-play is interaction with others), NPCs are more than welcome to become important figures in the story for their respective characters.

-ANY NPC created by a person who is not yourself is off limits to you. Please get permission from the creator to use somebody else's NPC. Or just be sensible about it.

-Again, an NPC cannot be part of any storylines except those directly relating to the character whose story they belong to. This means they cannot tag along and effect guild events in any way, including granting information that your main character would not normally have access to.

I absolutely LOVE your idea about a personal RP type thing separate from the actual LoSI events! Sounds pretty cool.
