I can't post them here, cause I'm not home yet, but give me a few hours and I'll see if I can't get you a bunch of recipes later. ^_^

Herbal Soap
5oz (140g) simple uncolored unscented soap
3oz (85g)whole fresh herbs: rosemary or marjoram
10 fl oz (300ml) water
2 tsp oil of rosemary or sandalwood

1. Coarsely grate the soap into a bowl.
2. Make a normal strength infusion of your chosen herb and let stand for 30 minutes.
3. Strain the infusion onto the soap and stand bowl over a pan of simmering water.
4. Stir as the soap melts and whisk hard until smooth.
5. Remove from heat and beat in the essential oil
6. Pour quickly into molds, such as small waxed paper cups or cupcake cups.
7. When cool, cover with greaseproof paper and leave in a warm dry place for about eight weeks until hard.

Variation:
For wash balls, a favorite Elizabethan toiletry, use 5 fl oz (140ml) of rosewater instead of the herbal infusion. Form the soap into small balls and dry in a warm place. To finish, moisten your hands with rosewater and smooth each ball to make the surface shiney.

Cleansing Complexion Milk
2oz (56g) ground almonds
5 fl oz (150ml) water
3 tbsp strong infusion of marigold
1 tsp borax
2 tbsp grape seed oil
5 drops oil of lemon

1. Tie almonds into a muslin bag and soak in the water in a bowl for several hours, pressing occasionally with a spoon.
2. Lift out bag of almonds and squeeze dry. (You can set this aside as a bath bag, as well) Reserve the milky almond liquid
3. Put the marigold infusion in a cup with the borax and stand it in a pan of not water, stirring until the borax dissolves.
4. Heat the the grape seed oil and vigorously whisk in the borax solution.
5. Add 4 tbsp of almond milk and the oil of lemon.
6. Cool, then pour into a bottle and shake well.

Shake the complexion milk again before using.

Using course sugar works great for exfoliation.
^^

After cleansing your face, just pat on the sugar and rub it over your face. ^^
If you have moisturizing soap (that will not dry your skin), pat the sugar into the soap.
The soap will help to keep the sugar to your face.
Of course, make sure you cleanse with water after.

It removes dead skin cells, helps to clean your pores, and your face feels realy soft afterwords.
It works wonders,
and is much cheaper then buying actual exfoliating products.

I know olive oil is good for the skin and hair. My Grandmother and her mother have used it. I don't know any recipes for olives, but I would like to learn though. If any one knows any please share biggrin

Actually, with the oil thing, I use nag champa or rose oil instead of conditioner. When I get out of the shower I brush my hair, then use two..um...fingers(?) (I put my finger over the opening and turn it upside down...that's one "finger" of oil.). I rub that through my hair, and then let it dry naturally. Keeps it really soft.

I'm pretty sure I wrote the method of making it in here somewhere... but I made a salve with olive oil and beeswax (and gotu kola) that works really well on my skin. I'm pretty sure that the olive oil has a bit to do with it. If you want to try olive oil I'd suggest a salve with some choice herbs. I like gotu kola because it helps with psoriasis, among other things, and I have a feeling I may be developing it, as some others in my family have. But it's really nice to use, especially in cold weather on your hands and feets. It's almost like chapstick for your skin.

Ooh, really? Do you need to add a liquid or something? I'd think a straight cuke would choke the blender...

Does anyone have any advice on what I can do about getting rid of my acne? I am so tired of it. I have tried meds my doc has given me and store bought things like natures cure (which caused me to break out in rashes and my eyes itched and swelled). I have had acne since 4th grade and I am 22 now.

Aloe? Sometimes a dot of aloe on a pimple helps clear it up... I use tea tree oil on mine, it's antibiotic. And... um... use a sensitive skin cleanser and look to your diet. Are you getting plenty of fresh fruits and veggies and water? Drinking a -lot- of water helps keep your skin clear. I'm 24, and I still get vicious breakouts, usually when I get into foods that are greasy or when I get low on water... or stressed. Or all three. XD
