Ryla wandered through Oblivion with her eyes cast downward. The fog was particularly thick and dreary that morning - or was it twilight? So hard to even tell in the Oblivion - and it was causing the female Hound to be a little depressed, not that she would ever let you know that.

Strange as it seemed, and as out of character as it was for her character, Ryla was actually craving the company of a fellow Hound. She knew that if she actually found one she'd be uncomfortable, and would barely say anything anyways, but she'd hadn't seen another being in such a long time...

She looked at the fog in front of her emotionlessly. In her mind, there was real distaste, and a large scowl, but she would never show those outwardly. A thought passed through her mind that maybe she was in another Hound's territory... She never would've even noticed passing through the boundaries of her usual area. She really didn't have a territory, but she might occasionally stay in one area of Oblivion until another Hound claimed the spot and she would move on.

Suddenly, something began to emerge from the fog...

Widower wandered through the Oblivion with no notion as to where he was going. His eyes were glued to the streets as his feet lead him to no where. The sky was endless as the minutes passed with no sign of others.

Sighing he stopped and too a look around s fog surrounded him. He could no longer see the area infront of him. Soon it cleared hough and he saw the most amazing creature ever. She was white and gray with an earring on her right horn.

The male Hound was colored scarlet, with markings that resembled golden webs scattered across his fur and a black spider-shaped marking on his left side. How interesting.

Ryla looked over the male slowly. How curious that just as she had been wanting to meet another Hound... This one had appeared. Of course she couldn't let him know that she'd just now been hoping to meet another Hound... although she wasn't entirely sure why she couldn't reveal that particular information... Sometimes her mind was a mystery even to herself.

She planted her rear on the ground and surveyed the newcomer, waiting for him to speak first. She didn't know if this hound was dangerous or if he meant well... Come to think of it, she could be wandering around in his territory... She would let him say something first to see what his intentions were.

Tipping his head down and then up to catch the scent of the female more, she smelled of dew and honeysuckle (always liked those two together). Moving forward out of the heavy fog he sat down across from her and bowed slightly. Not sure what to say to this creature.

"Hello miss, may i ask who you are?" The words rolled off his tounge as if he'd ment to ask that all along, when really it was jsut the first thing that came out.

Widower had a slight english accent that others always fonud wierd. It was normal for him, but probally not for this new female.

The strangely marked dog moved his head up and down, sniffing the air, then sat down in front of her and bowed his head. She had met hounds before, but none that had acted this way...

"Hello Miss, may I ask who you are?" the scarlet dog asked her politely, with some kind of accent that she'd never heard before. Who was this dog? And asking who she was nicely may not mean that the Hound himself was nice... He could be asking her name so that he could curse her formally, then chase her out of his territory... Supposedly there was a lot of power in names, and he hadn't offered his yet... She wasn't sure she wanted to give up that information...

She looked him up and down, examining this time not his coloring, but his movements. She stared at him emotionlessly, though she smiled in her mind. He wasn't as confident as he appeared... And he seemed to like the way Ryla looked.

Ryla swished her tail a bit, ushering off some of the fog that surrounded her. Awful stuff. Simply annoying. She then addressed the dog, making her voice seem non-threatening. She'd rather not get in some kind of fight - even if this Hound seemed pretty harmless - because she'd been rude or overconfident.

"I think I would like to know your name, first," She lowered her eyes to the ground, "you don't see many Hounds in this part of Oblivion, you know..."

He chuckled and nodded "Yes how quite rude of me asking a woman's name before i give my own title" His fur rippled as the fogs wisped across it. Making the illusion that the spider of his side was alive and crawling down his side.

This females face was soft but stern, she was hiding her true feelings, and she didn't trust him. That much was known. She also seemed to be confused by his accent, which made him laugh on the inside.

"I am Widower, weaver of tales" He told her and bowed again, showing good gentelman behavior. His mother had raised him too always respect a woman. "You may call me what you wish, and i do know i have wandered out of my territory you have no reason to fear me."

Ryla had to take a second glance at the Hound's side as he laughed. With all the mist floating around, it almost appeared that the strange marking was moving... There was something in his eyes... as if he was enjoying some secret laughter... But he wasn't expressing that amusement much, which she respected. She, too, didn't like to reveal her feelings very much...

"I am Widower, weaver of tales" the hound - Widower- told her with a bow. "You may call me what you wish, and I do know I have wandered out of my territory you have no reason to fear me."

She engaged in a chuckle of her own. She could let out some emotion for this Hound, whoever he was. She couldn't help but think that they had similar personalities... Perhaps they would get along after a time.

"Why ever would you think I were afraid of you," she told him condescendingly with a small smile, "after all, for all you know this is my territory and I have a pack coming just behind me..."

She let him ponder this for a moment before continuing.

"Actually, I'm simply wandering on my own. If there is an owner of this territory, I wouldn't know who it was... You may call me Ryla," she lowered her eyes to the ground once more.

Widower looked at her and smiled, she had a certain glow when she laughed. And her smiled seemed to light up the darkness that was closing aronud them.

"I know you did not have a pack because i'm positive the males in your pack wouldn't let you out of their sight" His words were smooth and calm as he looked into her eyes, not in a threatening way but in a soft one.

"Ryla, the blue eyes ghost" He said mostly to himself. She reminded him of a ghost, slipping in and out of view when you only wanted her to stay. "Why are you wandering on your own? I'm sure your mate wouldn't leave you alone."

Ryla had let the expression slip from her face once more. She found herself liking this strange Hound, but she didn't want him to believe she was some kind of giggly lady hound that would fall all over herself for a Hound with nice coloring. Plus, she didn't like letting her emotions out anyway, and usually she needed to force herself to smile, even when she really found something amusing. The smile from a few seconds ago had been one time when the smile truly was natural.

The scarlet hound gave her an odd look. He was smiling, but there was something in that smile that she hadn't really seen before... Who was this male? and what were his intentions in this place?

He tried to flatter her. It didn't really work, but she slightly enjoyed it anyway. He looked into her eyes, but she turned them towards the ground once more, not in a shy way... But just because she wasn't in the habit of meeting anyone's eyes. Particularly if she had just met that 'anyone' and had barely exchanged three sentences with him.

He said something softly which she did not catch, and wasn't sure she was supposed to, then said something in a louder voice.
"Why are you wandering on your own? I'm sure your mate wouldn't leave you alone."

Was this another form of flattery? Possibly...
"I have no mate," she said bluntly, "and I wander on my own because I choose to. I have no real territory... and... I'm not entirely comfortable traveling with company anyway."

What? Why had she said that?!
Ryla was beginning to scare herself a bit. She hadn't meant to say that much! She hadn't wanted to tell him she wasn't comfortable among others! Why in Oblivion HAD she said it?

Ryla didn't like not being in control of her emotions... She began to consider leaving... But no... She didn't want to do that, either... So what did she want to do?

The answer... She didn't know.

Widower saw her expression change and knew that she wasn't comftorable aronud him. This female didn't seem to be like the others he'd met, they were always throwing themselves at you. He hated that, he wanted to be able to have a conversation with his mate.

She had looked away from his gaze, she didn't like him.......that hurt quite a bit. For he liked her. Sighing he nodded but then perked up when she said she didn't have a mate.

"Why do you not like company? If you wish me to leave i will not object." He said figuring that she thought he was hiedous and boring to be around.

Ryla couldn't keep herself from noticing that Widower did not seem very happy that she wasn't meeting his gaze... He seemed... Disappointed... To her own surprise, Ryla found some pleasure in this. She also felt a bit of enjoyment when he perked up at her mention of not having a mate... Even if she was giving away more than she usually did... She found herself not wanting to leave. She wanted to talk with this strange hound.

"No, I wouldn't mind if you stayed around for a bit," she replied slowly, still staring at the ground. She glanced up at him and found herself admiring his coat. She quickly glanced back down to the mist-covered ground.

"And what of you, anyway," she asked him suddenly, "do you not have a mate? With your bright colors I'm sure many lady hounds would enjoy your company..."

Was she flirting? She couldn't be flirting! No! She forbid herself to flirt. Ryla was not a flirting Hound.

I'm simply gathering information about this hound, she told herself firmly. and since he seems to like you, the best way to go about getting to know him... is to flatter him and ask him questions... But this is NOT flirting.

Ryla avoided asking herself Why she wanted to know more about Widower...

Widower saw her watching and staring at his fur. He was pleased with this, at least she didn't think he was totally horrid looking. More than ever he wanted to stay with this hound. He smiled when she told him she wanted to stay around him longer.

"I have no mate, most females think i am cold because of my coloring. Also because i don't like to share much about myself". Come to think of it he never told anything to anyone. And now he was spillnig his guts to this female.

He was totally putting moves on her! Curse her amazing mind! If his mother was here she would smack him over teh head and tell him he was improper.

Ryla looked up quickly and stared into Widower's eyes directly for a moment before going back to her examination of the ground. The ground was much easier to look at while conversing. She was surprised to find that Widower also didn't like to reveal his emotions. With that flirting that had been going on, she'd subconsciously labeled him as the 'Ladie's Hound' type, who didn't restrict himself to one mate... If she were the type to blush in shame, she would have done so just then.

"You said that you knew you had left your territory," she said abruptly to avoid an uncomfortable pause in conversation, "that must mean you have a territory to leave... Where does this territory lie?"

She continued to study the ground, if not just to keep herself from looking up at Widower's fur again. That mysterious webbing... One could look at it for hours and still not get a clear view of it... It was... entrancing... And normally Ryla wasn't one to use such words.

Ryla suddenly felt a bit self-conscious of her own fur... Her snow white color, inturrupted by those markings all over... and that band in her ear that led to her horn... Usually she forgot about these things.... but now, looking at Widower's glorious coat...
PostPosted: Sun Sep 07, 2008 2:55 pm

The wind jingled her earring against her horn making an angellic sound errupt from it. It rang through the air and wrapped aronud his head, only making him more entranced by this female. She blushed just then.....why was she blushing? Was it because of him?

"My territory is just to the west of this spot. . . . would you like to go there with me?" He asked suprised with himself that he would even ask. "Uhhh.....Sorry that was out of line, i shouldn't have asked you that, please forgive me"

Widower was ashamed now, he had truely slipped up and wouldn't be suprised if Ryla walked off without turning back. What kinda male would ask a female to come back to his territory without bad intentions? Well he didn't want that.....only more time with her.

Ryla cringed slightly as the wind blew the metal band against her horn and chimed out through the endless fog. Just another reminder... Of...

She shook herself slightly to rid herself of the memories. This was no time to be thinking of that.

Ryla nearly shied away when he asked if she'd like to come with him to his territory, not only because not all Hounds were so bold, but because... - and this surprised her more than anything that had happened in their meeting thus far - she might actually want to go with him! Of course she didn't think he really meant anything bad, but still... She actually wanted to go with him!

She paused silently as she thought about this...
"I... Forgive you," she said slowly. She hesitated before adding, "and... It wasn't... So out of line... It just wasn't worded the best." She gave a wry smile slowly, lifting her eyes to meet his.
