I'm interested to know what you all think of John McCain's VP nominee Sarah Palin?
I watched the speech she made tonight (although I do realize it was mostly written by someone else), her speech last Friday, all the TV interviews I have seen her give, and I must say that I am very impressed by Palin. I was grudgingly voting for McCain before because I knew Obama to be an absolute NO option for me to tolerate having in office just because I didn't want to bring myself to vote for bananna amnesty McCain. Now that Palin is on the ticket I find myself actually excited about this election and actually excited to go to vote for this ticket over the Obama/Biden ticket.
I loved the line in her speech tonight "What is the difference between a Hocky Mom and a pitbull? Lipstick" Hahaha
After all the media attacks she and her family have endured by the left wing bloggers and media I think they are very afraid of her. Afraid of her ability to draw in voters and excite the Republican base. I never knew much about her before McCain announced her as his VP, but the more I find out about her the more I like her.

She's definitely under attack. But I think she can stand up to it.
Politics at the highest level appears to be a deflecting, shielding game more than anything else. Those who endure to the end, win.
I lived in Wasilla for a few years, but never met her. It wasn't *that* small a town. blaugh

I am very impressed with Palin. I think McCain saved himself when he nominated her as his VP. I'm excited about voting this year because of her.

The VP debates were a lot of fun to watch. Palin really stood up to the challenge and shined with her personality. Biden shined with experience, but I think all the attention was on Palin.

Yeah.
This also reminds me of something from college social studies - something about how any group has radicals and mainstream. The radicals push the envelope outrageously, gaining attention but not taken seriously, allowing the idea to take effect. Then when the mainstream of the group does it, it is taken seriously. So back in the past, Geraldine Ferraro ran for VP but didn't make it (and wasn't very good anyway). Then we have Hillary Clinton running for Prez, but didn't make it (ditto). So with Sarah Palin running for VP, it's not so shocking that the public is unable to grasp the idea - it's been aimed at before so seems more realistic.
And I hope she and McCain do win. The alternative is unthinkable.

I agree completely. Look at John Kerry, the media loved him, but he still lost. So I'm not worried about it too much, but I am a little anxious.

In lite of recent events I wouldn't be too optimistic.

I still think that they'll win. I have faith in the American public. They aren't all morons.
