It is the year 2015. The world has been devastated by anuclear war. Most whole continents had been hit so hard that there almost no vegetation left. The only truly untouched land is Canada. The country is known for their neutrality. They supplied anyone with supplies for anything. Some parts of America were irradiated so bad the there are zones called dead zones. They were completly covered in black dust. In these dead zones there were people who survived the explosions. Due to the radiationmost died. But some survived in reward to that they evolved and got apecial abilities. There were many of these abilities. All who survived came out with increased strength. Each "empowered" person gained their own unique abilities such as enhanced senses, incresed speed, and healing abilities. These people were recognized as a way to fight the new Soviet army. What was left of the military and the American government instructed sent out troops to travel around america and find and bring the empowered people to th safe zone in Canada. This is where the story begins.

Robert was walking slowly through the desert. He was assigned with guard duty of the convoy. He had dark black and brown hair. His skin had a slight tan from standing in the sun alot. He had an athletic, but not overly muscular body, though you couldn't tell because he was constantly in his ACUs or armor . But the most unusual part of him was his eyes. One was red and one was sharp blue. "Hey Bobby," said a voice from his radio." How's it goin' over there?" Bobby shook his head in annoyment. "How about no names on the radio ,staff seargent," he responded. "Sorry about that 'Seargent First Class.' How is it going on your side?" Bobby chuckled under his breath. He had known Daniel Sandlin ever since they were kids in the shelter. They had both joined the army rangers at the same time. They then had been deployed to different posts. Later after the nuclear bombardments they found eachother. Daniel and a few others had been the last survivorsof his platoon after a Russian assault on american soil. They had been hiding out in a small town, burying their dead and fixing their wounded. "Well lets see. I'm sweating out a river, I have to go to the bathroom, and sand is in this armors joints." He flexed his arms. "I can't wait to get back to HQ and get that sealing upgrade for this stuff. Were going to need it if they use any chemical weapons on us." He shrugged "I hate this job," grumbled Daniel. "Shut up ladies. Were coming up on a town and you need to watch out for Russians," Came a stern voice over the command frequency. "Hooah, sir," replied Bobby. Oh well. Time to get back on the job, he thought.

Bobby lookedat his surroundings. The town was run-down and destroyed. No building seemed to have its front door left. He signaled his troops to spread out and search the surrounding buildings. Once he was sure that the sorrounding buildings were clear he turned toward the drivers of the convoy: "Start unpacking and watch out for any suspicious activity." Suddenly his power suit's radar pinged a hit. "Life form detected," informed trhe computerized voice through his helmet. " Everyone, life source located. I'm sending the data." Everyone surrounded the building.

Bobby heard the rumbling in the distance before he saw the wave rushing straight toward him and his men. "Everyone, brace yourselves," he yelled. Most of his men just stood staring at the giant wall of water but the computers automatically embedded boot spikes in the ground and stiffened their armor joints to prevent broken bones. Just before he was hit he was covered by the shadow of the wave. He recognized his chance and shifted through to the other side of the wave. When his visor cleared he saw a man with a bewildered look on his face. "Get down now," he commanded.

Bobby side stepped and the orb passed by him. He raised his weapon and fired a stun grenade from the bottom mounted launcher of his weapon. The projectile flew in front of the mans face and detonated with a deafening bang. He immedeately switched from live rounds to rubber bullets. He fired two three round bursts into the bright light.

Bobby brought up his arm and activated an energy shield on his arm. Some of the ice shards hit and melted on contact. But others hit exposed parts of his armor and punctured the thin joints. The pain was short but excruciating as the suit automatically ejected the foreign object and filled it with antisceptic foam. He shifted through the shadow behind him and reformed behind the man. He pulled out a sedative and injected it into the mans neck. "Sleep tight," he whispered as the man fell to the ground.

Bobby became alert as soon as his suit became stiff. He saw through his peripheral vision the man slip from his arm. He gritted his his teeth. "I knew I should have used the new empowered tranquilizer. Computer, send out a sonic pulse. I need to break the ice with this man." The computer responded with a sharp whine which went up to beyond human hearing levels. As soon as he could move, he brought his heavy arm down to the mans neck, incapacitating him again. As his men rushed over he motioned with his hand and said "Watch him and don't let him touch you."

Bobby looked at the man in the box. He didn't like that that the leutenant ordered that the man be placed in an isolation box but orders were orders. Sir, what do you want us to do to him," asked Bobby. The Lt. remained silent and continued to peer at the man in the box. The man continued to glare back at him. "how did one scrawny little man overpower most of my men on his own," the Lt. inquired suddenly. "Well he has an extreme ability, which allows him to control water and turn objects into water. He also has an immunity to the tranqs we used on him. Sir if he wanted to kill anyone he could have turned them all too water. I don't think he needs to be in the tank. Judging from his reactions while he was in there, I think he is claustrophobic." The Lt. turned toward Bobby, and said " you're not going soft on me are you first sergeant?" Bobby snapped to attention. "Sir,no,sir," he replied. The Lt. turned and walked away. As soon as he was out of sight and out of earshot he turned back to the man in the box and pressed his armor against the box locking mechanism. The system automatically unlocked the crate. But before he unlocked the box he looked through the glass. "I am going to let you out but you can't try and cause any trouble."
