Here are some great ideas from:
Birthday in a Box1. Homemade Invitations:Make cards out of colored card stock.
For the front of the card get your child to draw a fairy, photocopy the image and paste a copy of the front of each card.
or
Create a flower shaped card by cutting the edges and folding in to make petals that fold out, hiding a message inside.
Use glue sticks and glitter, add ribbons with a hole punch and ribbon that you can curl with scissors.
Add cute poems to make the invite message. Ex:
Come to where the fairies roam,
A beautiful forest they call their home.
The happy fairies will dance and play
To celebrate (birthday child’s name)’s birthday!
You’ll have a fairy good time!
Or
(on the front cover):
Do you believe in Fairies?
(on the inside):
All you need is faith and trust,
And a little bit of Pixie Dust!
For seals use stickers!
2. Take home gifts:Create goody bags that have confetti that could be "fairy dust" and candy colored in any floral or pastel color.
Make magic wands with pencils from a dollar store and stars made out of card stock. Just stencil a star and cut out the number you need for the party. Lay the star flat and place a pencil on each one. Tape the pencil in place with plain old Invisible tape.
3. For food:Make pb&j sandwiches and using any "fairy like" cookie cutter, cut out finger sandwiches
Prepare fizzy Enchanted Fairy Punch. Before the party, freeze red juice in ice cube trays. Cranberry juice, pink grapefruit juice or fruit punch drinks could all work. Then on party day, serve lemon-lime soda, and let each child drop in a "magic" ice cube that will make a pink drink fit for a fairy!
Prepare Magic Wands from pretzel rods dipped in melted white chocolate. Before the chocolate hardens, dip in pastel sprinkles.
