Akira Toudou is a boy from Okinomiya who confesses that he is in love with Natsumi Kimiyoshi in Onisarashi-hen, Someutushi-hen, and Kageboushi-hen.

The circumstances of the confession are different between the chapters.

He loves Natsumi very much, even willing to accept the fact that Natsumi killed her family.

He almost dies due to his love for her, either from being stabbed in the stomach in Onisarashi-hen, or being choked by Natsumi when she is affected by Hinamizawa Syndrome in Someutushi-hen.

What happens in Kageboushi-hen is currently unknown.
