You kill him like 5-7 times in the first one and he's still alive in two living in Ocelot's friggin arm! It ticks me off!

Also, in the first one, you kill him once in the Hind, once in the fist fight, and once at the end. That's 3.
And yeah, playing MGS4 before coming to such conclusions might be a good idea. Either way, Liquid was awesome. They shouldn't have killed him in the first place.

"Balance was restored to his psyche after his right hand that housed Liquid Snake's will was surgically replaced as a prosthetic limb." Is what is says in the Metal Gear database.

I don't like Liquid, and he needs to die, seriously, "A fall like this will kill even you brother" then he falls and he's alive. And his stupid friggin arm.

I think that Liquid was awesome. Also, if I have my facts right, at the end of the first one, they said that he was the better one and not Solid Snake.

Yeah, although Liquid's survival after that fall, I'd chalk up to dumb luck. But yeah, Liquid was my favorite of all MGS antagonists.

I know exactly what this guy means. xd You fight him in the Hind-D first, then you fight him as he's piloting Metal Gear Rex, then you fight with him hand-to-hand, then you fight him in the car chase scene, and then he still doesn't die. FoxDie has to kill him. So you don't even get the sense of accomplishment from *really* killing him.
And yes, then there's the arm. The single stupidest, most retarded plot device in any of the Metal Gear games ever. And now when reading up on Metal Gear Database, the original Liquid's arm in MGS2 was never adequately explained. How does one's arm house their will (and vocal chords)? It's ridiculous. The only halfway logical conclusion that I can come up with is that the arm was infested with Liquid's nanomachines, and somehow that projected his will onto Ocelot. But even then, it's still retarded.
The reason they did it was because people liked Liquid, and so they wanted to bring him back. Well, if they were going to do that, they should have just brought him back. They would of had to have to come up with a pretty contrived plot twist to do so, but anything would've been better than the arm. I hate the whole arm thing. -_-
