What is the best method of relieving that itch?
I personally will gently slap the area redface , IF I can reach it. Also sometimes I will use a mild lotion to help it. Sometimes I just have to bear it because NOTHING helps.

I generally would carefully itch the skin around the tattoo if i was desperate.
I was too scared to put anything but A&D ointment on it. I got mine on my leg, and i couldn't shave so that made it double itchy n.n

The itching wasn't too bad with mine, but what I did was just put lotion on it. I tried to avoid being things that were too cold or too warm because that affects how the skin heals. Itching is a sign of dry skin, and dry skin can harm the healing process.

I itch with all of them. But the one on my back right now is absolutely driving me crazy, it is an almost stinging type of itch. I keep a lotion on it, thats not really helping.
Does any one know if you could use a mild hydrocortisone cream.
Itching is also a sign of healing skin.

Gah my back always itches like f**king crazy. Im bad though, I end up rubbing the area. Try not to do that. Just keep the mind set that if you f**k it up now, its f**ked up forever. 2 weeks of hell and you're set for life.

I had one on my back that itched soooo bad. I usually scratched around the area or inbetween the area.

I was too afraid to put anything on them before they scabbed, but after that, I usually keep mine moisturized with an all-natural cocoa butter. It's naturally soothing, and it hasn't hurt my tattoos at all.

No you are all wrong. I'm a tattoo artists and no that for sure a&d is bad. It draws the ink out of your skin. For itching, simply wet a washcloth or your hands with warm water and place on top. don't itch or slap it. I know the best methods of healing a tattoo. PM me for questions
