I know we've been trying to get new members in the guild and older members to come back, but I haven't seen anything being done, which leads me to my actual question:
Are we actually doing anything on these issues(If they should be called issues)?
Just curious.
To make this even more forum appropriate, I think we should make a move on getting new members. When I was GM, my last few days before the new one was announced were spent in random invites in some forums. I think this is a good way to gather more people from different forums and get more people to look at and think about the SG. Should we continue this?

I send random invites pretty regularly, but aside from that, i don't think much is being done unless others are. (i know there was some sort of word game going on once)

Maybe we should look into that? I mean, there used to be complaints of the guild dying, so maybe this could keep us alive with different people coming in?

The guild has had numerous contests to try and get new members but usually they are just ignored sad The crew cant get tons of new people by themselves.

Nymphiedora The guild has had numerous contests to try and get new members but usually they are just ignored sad The crew cant get tons of new people by themselves. The only thing about contests is non-crew members can't see if their efforts are working. If they post links, they can't see if anyone joined, which can kill their enthusiasm. Even if you check the memberlist, it doesn't put who joined most recently on the first page. I remember seeing banner contests, but that's not really getting new people. There is an advertising committee... Have they done a lot? What are they supposed to be doing? I know we had the summer thing with Nymphie, and I think that got a good amount of new people.

biggrin I say we start a thread and host a random sniper game and advertise the guild while at it. Then who are interested and give them a taste of the guild? (VIH: .....then again maybe not. It's not good to trust spur of the moment ideas.)

We've tried this before, and it works well- as far as I can see. Really, we should do more of this. It takes a bit of planning, but live action stuff like that is what the Skype chat is for (and random smexytime)
Let's get cracking.

we're DOING that D: we're starting to plan the mini game during the back to school event gaia is having and stuff. hosting a minigame is a LOAD of work and requires at least 3 people to put a lot of time into. and they're difficult to do a lot. So, I mean, yeah. Right now we have 2 things in the works for new people. that, and the masquerade. I think we're good for ideas to get new people now, we just need help with the execution of either.
