Cavalcade (sp?) is a new circut to us this year... and dear god we got our butts WHOOPED. I felt like a kicked puppy crying Out of the three competeing bands in our group (Liberty), we were third. Scores?
Delsea Regional: 76. something Upper Dublin: 83. something Oakcrest: 87 flat
What makes it worse is that we could have done so much better if our band actually knew their music and our instructor didn't throw last minute routine at us 10 minutes before we took the field. It was also really hard to practice since space was limited and we had three bands surrounding us. You couldn't hear a thing. -sigh- Here's hoping we do better next weekend. This week we're gonna get run into the ground.
Anyone else here run Cavalcade before?

We've got a competition Saturday.. **bites nails** AND I'M NOT READY FOR IT!!! **hyperventilates** We've been moved up a class.. Class B instead of class C... I think there're only like 4 other band in our class this year... Ner.. I hope we do okay.. We're one of the better bands out there.. And the guard managed to get a 1 first competition.. As did the percussion! I'm proud of them! Not often that they manage that. But they've got a good captain this year. Our drum major got a 2, though.. 'Tis sad... Shireena's awesome!

XD what a moron. it was so noticeable!
we were at the oakton classic on oct. 1st.....so we're lake braddock, VBODA made a hall of fame the year we got our 20th consecutive honor band award.....we're the best in virginia.
then theres robinson. they beat our football team and many of our other sports like a drum.......well we didnt expect to lose to them because they never beat us in music.....
except they did.
BUT. our drumline, which is smaller than theirs, TOTALLY PWN'D THEIR BUTTS! it was really backwards because drumline NEVER wins anything.....but they won 1st......
sweatdrop
anyone going to the monarch invitational in newport news, va?
stupid competition is on my 15th birthday.....

Yeah, so the competition didn't go as badly as I had expected it to. We managed to get a two, which I'm happy with, because there were some tough judges at that competition.. We were the only band in our class to get any twos, though... crying crying Guard, majorette, percussion, and DM all got 2s... sweatdrop Oh, well.. We've got maybe one competition left.. Not sure if we're gonna go. I hope we do!!

Means it was somewhere between 85-100 on the 100 point scale... a "2" is from like 70-84.99, I believe.. I'll have to check.. And that's a rating of excellent. And then you've got a 3.. Which I guess is below that... I've heard rumours that there's also a rating of 4, but as of yet, I've seen no band to be that bad. We got an 84 at the competition Saturday.. That's 1 freaking point from getting superior!!! And the drums had an 83.5.. Man, makes me sad to know we were so close..

that seems to be the system we use at states......i have no idea what we do at the other comps because we actually have 1st, 2nd, 3rd places....
at states we've ranked superior/excellent (excellent at the begining, superior for the last many many many years) for the last 24 consecutive years! 25 this year!

We had a competition....3 weeks ago I think. I believe the colorguard made a 70something out of 100. We did have the best DM in competiton though. This past Saturday, the colorguard made best in class (AAA) with an 81, we got 2nd best percussion in class, and best DM in competition again. It was really cool because it was also out DM's birthday. We have one more competition in 2 weeks. Hope we do well!

Our competition this last weekend went alright. The judging was wonky there, though. We placed fourth. Second for guard and our drumline took first both times.

2nd invitational: music- 1st (the only category we won gonk ) guard- 3rd (the judge was smoking something because the one that got 2nd was never together and they really didnt do well. xp ) drumline- 2nd (but they were still really happy because for like this was like their best year of the last like 30 years!)
we got 2nd overall again.
VBODA state festival: "Quint A, Lake Braddock Secondary...................EXCE---(we all gasp...excelent would have killed us all.)SUPERIOR! thats 25 consecutive years of superior marching! and when we get superior at the spring concert band festival, it will be 25 consecutive years of like everything! ^^

We went to a competition in FL Saturday. Being the only band from GA there, we didn't expect to do as well as normal. Well, colorguard got a superior (exellent by our standards) and over all, the band got a proficent (good by our standards). Ok, so we didn't do as well as normal, but we didn't do THAT bad! So, we make finals, going in in 8th place. We performed the best show we've EVER done. It was so amazing, nearly everything was perfect. Of course, the judges didn't think that. We lost 3 points, which ended up putting us in 9th place. We did better than half the bands there, yet we scored so much lower than they did. It made me so mad! And they (the announcers, not the people) were slightly rude to us. Everytime we went to perform, the FL/GA game scores were announced. I think next year, we should only go to GA competitions...
