EA is gonna implement DRM on all their new release games including Red Alert 3. You all saw what happened to Spore. What are you views on EA's decision for putting DRM on their games?

What is DRM an abbreviation of?

Digital Rights Management. Reclaim your game this site will tell you all about SecuRom which EA is now putting on the new release games.

Thanks for the elaboration, boy do I feel stupid.

But what I am wondering is, what are they thinking? This won't stop people from downloading the games. I swear, it's like money is so important to them that they have to majorly inconvenience everybody just to get a little more of it. It wouldn't be hard to get around this software anyway, so why bother trying to stop people?

On a side note, has anyone heard any news about the release of Tiberium, the new FPS?

I know, it'll only make legitimate paying customer more pissed off. and I quote this from a Swedish magazine(I don't know which one):
Quote:
Electronic Arts do not want to comment the issue at all, they have on the contrary made clear that they will also use Securom in their coming game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3.

Yay for this! Global class action law suit is launched against EA. Best news I heard in a while.

Even on the EA forums, the mods are like: STFU about SecuRom and DRM or we'll punch you in the face.

Offtopic: nope I haven't heard any new news on Tiberium

Edit: I'm also boycotting EA Games games for a while until DRM is removed.

I am unfortunately boycotting the games due to the gaming capability of my laptop not being quite so awesome. Looks like I'll be sticking wth PS3 for a while. On a side note, I did get my copy of TFD back today.

Have fun begging with EA customer support for resets

My question is why can't they just leave the PC versions of all their games as is without SecuRom? I love putting the CD in CD/DVD drive (well for me anyways). SecuRom isn't gonna stop them from cracking the game in hours or days. And that's already been proven.

If you guys are gonna order C&C Tiberian Twilight and have a crappy internet connection then I'm sorry you won't be able to play it as you'll need a 24/7 internet. not DRM but something like it/
