 Patch ran around the tall grasses trying to chase a butterfly. It was hard to ketch up to the butterfly with her little cub legs but she had energy to spare. She leaped forward and with a loud crash she bumped her head into a tree that she didn't see right infront of her because of the grass. She wobbled around seeing stars.

 Kai moved into the shadows as she walked around. As hot as it was out here she felt like sleeping. Kai-Chan was her nickname. She went by Kai most of the time.
The small green cub moved around till she couldn't take it anymore and she laid down. Panting softly she sniffed the air for any signs of water holes in this place but all she smelled was tree and grass. "Great"((Muse is kinda shot right now... sorry .-.))

Patch spun out of the grass and crashed into a pretty green cub who was laying down. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bump into the three of you," She was spinning so much she thought she saw three lions.

Kai looked at her and she watched her eyes and figured she was dizzy. Laughing to herself she stood up and looked to see if she was hurt but saw nothing, thank god. "One of me" She said very illiterate like. She wasn't all that good with speaking.

Patch's eyes stopped spinning. "Where's the other two of you go?" She asked in a silly tone, trying to be serious. She shook the rest off the dizzyness out of her head. "Sorry again for crashing into you. I'm Patch" wile she spoke she tried to think of what paw to shake with.

Kai titled her head then sighed. "Two? Me Kai-Chan" she said childishly and started to lick her paws with a cute smile on her face. She had finally met someone here. "You Patch-Chan?"

Patch nodded, "Yeah I'm-" she was destracted momentarily by a passing butterfly. she swung at it and missed. "They're hart to ketch," she sighed.

Kai watched her and for a moment she wanted to push her away from catching the pretty. "No catch pretty...let pretty go" She said with a smile as she looked at her wagging tail and went chasing after it.

Patch turn away from the butterfly and back towards the lion. She looked down and blushed, imbaressed. She didn't look into her eyes but insted at her toes with their pretty green bubbles which put a smile back on Patch's face for a second. "Sorry, I wasn't gonna hurt it. Just thought it wanted to play tag."

Kai smiled and wagged her brown colored tail happily. "We tag! No pretty! Me" She said in her broken language with a silly smile on her face. "Count" That word came out like an order but she didn't know it was mean or nothing. Slowly she started to walk away and see how far she could get in the allowed amount of time.

Patch put her paw over her eyes, peeking thru her small claws. "One, Two, Five, Seven, Twenty One, Four, Ten, Ready or not here I come" she counted. Then she ran in a circle to see all around herself.

Kai had hidden herself to where she could maybe get to home base if needed. Her eyes twinkled devilishly as if ready to pounce. She was only but yards from her.
Holding her breath still she smiled and waited. A sneeze was what gave her away.

Patch ran in circles looking in the most random places like under small rocks and behind sticks. She heard a snease and turned, "Where are you?" she called. A raindrop hit her nose. "Eeeep! The sky is melting! I better find her befor we drown!" She said, paniced.

She squeaked and ran around in circles when she got out of the bush, she believed it was true. Another drop fell, and another, and another....she screamed and started to cry as she started to think about the world ending and there was so much she hasn't done yet.

Patch saw Kai crying and she got really worried. She was afraid too and any other day she would have been crying too, but today she knew she had to pretend to be brave to save them both from the sky. Patch wiped a tear from her own eye and bit her lip. "Don't worry, we're fast like grownup lions we can outrun the sky! Let's race to those caves where the sky can't find us," She said. The cave she pointed at wasn't far away but it wasn't the most beautiful place she'd ever seen. Patch hoped that a race would get both their minds off the sky.
