OKAY, BIG WTF.If you haven't read this article and this article yet, I suggest you do PRONTO.So to summarize, Plant says that the paperwork that comes with going on tour is stopping him from going on tour with the lads. In turn, JPJ & Page are auditioning for a new singer - they already have a promising young American in mind. What are your thoughts on these articles?-Will the introduction of a new singer pretty much strip the band of it's name? -Is Plant bullshitting us or is he serious? -Would Plant be able to hold up expectations on a tour? -Do you think the introduction of a new singer will be good or bad? Why? -Do you think that JPJ & Jimmy will actually go through with getting a new singer if Plant refuses?

Jesus feckin Christ
It wouldn't truly be Zep, but I'd still shell out the dough to go.

Same with me.
If the guy they've been practicing with can sing like Robert could in the 70's, I'd defs go. But on the other hand, it wouldn't be really Zep. It's like the Doors of the 21st Century.

Well, if any came here as part as a solo career, I'd still go and see-two or three are even better. So, for me, I've given up on seeing any of my favourite bands as they were originally, because of deaths or idiots like Robert, David Gilmour and Roger Waters
Queen-Freddie Mercury's dead, John Deacon's retired Zep-well, John's dead and Robert's being... gonk David Bowie-Mick Ronson's dead, and I don't think he tours with the Spiders any more The Who-Keith Moon and John Entwistle are dead Aerosmith-OMG! NO DEAD MEMBERS! The Rolling Stones-Mick Jones is dead and Bill Wyman's retired Pink Floyd-Gilmour and Waters are being assholes to each other and Richard Wright and Syd Barrett are dead. Supertramp-no idea, but I know they aren't touring any more The Beatles-well...John and George are dead
So, yeah...fat chance I'll be seeing anyone but Aerosmith in their original glory.
Robert? Well, let's just say I prefer his 70s style singing to his droopy 90s style.

the rolling stones, all of them, came to my hometown and i didn't get to see them... ;_; but anyways, I agree with both of you. It just wouldn't be Zeppelin without Robert. I mean they're already incomplete as it is, and John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page aren't enough to make for those absences even though it still would be pretty amazing to see them.. ah, sadness. :'<

Yeah, because he wanted to spend more time with his family after Freddie died. Supports what Brian and Roger do, but is no way behind any of it.

My friend's mom told this to me, and I was like... what the ********? Isn't the whole reason they didn't continuing in the 80's because they didn't want to replace John Bonham? Pardon me for being blunt, but drummers are easier to replace than singers (I feel a little horrible for saying that, considering it was John Bonham, but honestly it's true). Plant is much less replaceable than Bonham ever was (still feeling horrible for saying such things).

This is horrific! I always think it's time for a band to accept their 'glory days' when they look for a new lead singer.
