I, myself, am a professional tattoo artist. My name is Jessica. I work in a shop in San Jacinto California. www.provocativetattoo.com check it out.
I want to open this post to answer questions you may have with tattoos or piercings. Maybe if they are infected or if forget how to take care of it or whatever. I want to help.
Maybe if you have questions about the tattoo pattern you want to get or what colors or cover-ups let me know. I'm here to help.

How well does white ink show up in a tattoo when the person's skin colour is a light olive colour? And what about a somewhat pale skin colour?
I'm Italian [mom's side of the family], and that's the best way I can describe my skin tone, and my cousin has fairly light skin [she's related to me through my dad's side of the family]. My cousin and I are getting matching tattoos of a plumeria this Christmas vacation, and she wants a yellow center fading into white, and I want a magenta center fading into white.

Jemma Fatale How well does white ink show up in a tattoo when the person's skin colour is a light olive colour? And what about a somewhat pale skin colour?

My cousin and I are getting matching tattoos of a plumeria this Christmas vacation, and she wants a yellow center fading into white, and I want a magenta center fading into white. White is a highlight color and really only a highlight color. In other words it's to be used in very small areas. White will always turn a yellowish color in a few months (maybe even longer if you are lucky). There are other ways to get a white effect. For example using a blue to shade in a "white" area to give it a effect of being white. If a tattoo artist tells you they are going to put white in an area that is bigger than a pea it wouldn't be a good idea. Like i said it will turn yellow on every skin tone. Skin isn't like paper no matter how white someone is. So be careful on that one. 3nodding I hope i helped. If you have more questions ogo ahead and ask heart 4laugh

Thanks. So you would suggest a pale blue rather than white ink itself?

Jemma Fatale Thanks. So you would suggest a pale blue rather than white ink itself? Well not completely colored in blue just shaded blur around the edges Example: (c) Jeff B. her shirt is supposed to be white. but it's too large of a space to fill in white so the guy who did this shaded the areas where it's supposed to be shaded with blue. giving it a white effect. or for your flowers a teal whould look good. this is actually on my arm.

Oh, I've got a question! Or two...
Would you happen to know how likely it is for a tragus piercing to get infected?
And, I've got another about piercings: my newly healed 2nd & 3rd lobe piercings are still crusting up around the backs. I've been cleaning them with simply saline (that sea-salt stuff), but they've stayed like that for a little while. Do you have any tips on how I should handle it? Or should I just go back to the piercer who did them?

Miss Viciou Oh, I've got a question! Or two...

Or should I just go back to the piercer who did them? Any piecing can get infected easily. I would suggest you stop cleaning your piercings with that saline and use Dial Anti-Bacterial (the orange soap in the pump bottle). Use it on a Q-tip and NO FINGERNAILS. That is bad, too many germs under your finger nails. clean your piercing 3 times a day. once after you got out of the shower or if you use hair products right after that. Hair products usually get piercing infected or give you keliods. Keliods are weird little bumps that happen right in the piercing. They are a type of infection. If you need more help let me know. 3nodding

Where would be good spots to get several variants of this at the same time keeping the detail? http://zeiva.deviantart.com/art/Wind-51933086

Sorry, let me rephrase.
What would be good areas of the body to get that on? (I wanna keep as much detail as possible, but I know it has to be big.)
