Ok, there's something I would like to bring up. As some of you may be aware, stephanie meyer posted the first couple of chapters on her website. This means that she can't publish the book, as it is copyrighted, as long as these chapters are on her site. This is due to the leak of her rough draft of these chapters. As all team edwarders are aware, this would result in our not viewing these sites.... so, i think that perhaps we ought to send her some sort of message to allow her to continue writing the book. stressed i need your opinion on this mesage, bc a fan of stephanie has turned against her saying her writing has spiraled down.... so what do you think? should stephanie do midnight sun, any how? confused or should she just trash it? xp and if she should keep it, how will you communicate this to her? question
thanks! Vampirez_den91 4laugh heart
P.S. i wrote this message in secret for fear of a snarling edward, he and alice know where i live! eek ninja

Personally, I think she should continue Midnight Sun. Even though the first 8 chapters ( I looked ) leaked. Everyone thats read Twilight already knows what happens in the book. It's not that big of a deal to me. And just because some people read it that doesn't mean she should stop the book. They spoiled the book for themselves. I'd love to see the book come out.

One thing I really want to know is if she's making movies for all of the movies or just Twilight. If she did Breaking Dawn.. would be rated pg-13.. at least. sweatdrop

Well, technically, she's just selling the rights to the storyline. They've changed a lot of stuff in the movie. And A LOT of minor details that really didn't matter to the storyline... So why change them? Like, Rosalie's BMW... Is now a Mercedes. Really? It's just so minor... Why can't she have the freaking BMW!?
See, if Stephanie were doing the movies... It would have been cast right.

I agree on a few of these things.

But first off, I've got to say that, despite all of our support as her loyal fans, there’s a chance that she may not continue Midnight Sun. See, whoever leaked the copy was someone that she had personally given it to. She trusted this person not to spread it around. Stephenie probably even knows who did it. Even if it is just a recount of Twilight from Edward's point of view, it's still a harsh blow to her. She said that it may take a while before she tries to complete the story again because her current mood could collide with what was already written. Like James winning and Edward and his family dying. Not something we want to happen, right?

Next, the minor issues with the movie. Honestly, if they followed the book exactly to a "T" could the fit it all within the normal hour and a half to two hour time slot for a movie? As good as that might make it, I'm wondering how many people would actually be willing to sit through the entire thing. The issue with Rosalie's car, definitely not a big deal. If you're going to go nuts about their cars, you might as well point out that the Volvo's a hatch back and that Emmett's Jeep is the wrong color. Such minor flaws are pointless. The producers that originally had rights to the movie warped it so much that you wouldn't even know that it was supposed to be based on Twilight if it didn’t say so somewhere. It had FBI agents and whatnot in it. No where near close. We're actually pretty lucky that we're getting a movie at all. Stephenie was so worried about her story being distorted like that again.

More movies after Twilight? Yes. They've already got the script for New Moon written out. All they need is to see how people react to Twilight. They get a good response to what they've already done they'll begin working on New Moon. They plan to keep to the about the same work schedule as before which means that they would probably start filming around February.

And, of course, the issue of casting. Question! What is really wrong with the people that they've cast? Is it because Robert's from England? Because it's Kristen playing the role of Bella and not someone that you like better? Because it's not you? Seriously. These are professional actors and actresses. They'll do their jobs in as right a way as they can. Heck, Stephenie was even in on some of the casting. She went to the set several times to check on progress, Summit even kept us up to date on what they were doing with the movie. Cut them some slack. Stephenie gave Robert a draft copy of Midnight Sun so he could get more into character. At ComicCon Catherine Hardwicke even said that while they were shooting a scene, Robert got too into the moment and fell off the bed. (Care to read the article? I've got it bookmarked, I'll post it if you want.) So just stop ragging about these little things.

Now, I'm sorry if I sound like an absolute jerk or, pardon my language, even a b***h. You must forgive me. When it comes to people complaining loudly about things that really don't matter so much that are in the movie just frustrates me. Something like the type of vehicle shouldn't matter as long as it matches most of the criteria. Rose's car is a fancy red convertible. Does it really matter that that it's not a BMW?

Again, so sorry if I came off as rude. I really am a good person most of the time.

Look, you did come off quite rude, actually. Thinking that I don't know what I'm talking about. I've been in theatre my entire life, and I know good acting when I see it. From what I've seen in the trailers, the acting quality is... Mediocre. And no, thank you, I think Kristen looks great as Bella. Her voice, a little too deep and boyish, but she looks good. Rob, not my first choice but I've learned to deal with it. I think you're a real b***h for calling me out like this because of my opinion. So what he got a little too "in the moment" I've seen that happen with the no-good novices in the acting classes I teach.

And by the way, just because they are professional doesn't make them better than anyone else in the industry. And that was a real low comment for you to make.

And no, it barely matters at all. It's such a minor detail that they shouldn't have needed to change it. It just bugs me that they did. I'm sorry I don't have the same opinions as you, but you really should stop flaming people for theirs. Just because you read every article produced on the internet about Twilight and the movie itself, doesn't make your opinion the end all be all FACT. It's as worth as much as mine is.

I wasn't pointing you out personally. I was only being general. As for my opinions, I know that they are only opinions and not facts. Everyone is entitled to their own. If everyone else can state theirs, I see no reason why I can't as well.

You've been in theatre your whole live, good for you. I've been working back stage for musicals and our high school fall plays since I was a freshman. I don't claim to know everything about acting either, again it was just my general opinion that they were perfectly fine.

As for flaming people, this is my first offence at it. I'm generally a very nice person. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have gone off like that, but I was simply wanting a few answers that no one would give me. It angered me just a little. As for calling me a b***h, that makes it fair game for me to do the same to you, but I'm not going to because I don't know you well enough to do so.

I apologized before and I'm doing so again because I don't mean to offend any one and I don't mean to come off as a rude person or as a "b***h".

I dont think I'm going to read them, I read the first one, but if I read anymore then I might feel i wont need to read the book, which I dont want

And I really hope she carries on with the book, she's such a great authress, it would be such a shame for herto just jack it in because some selfish ******** somewhere was disloyal

Her fans will always be there for her

I think she should continue Midnight Sun, the problem is I had to look of 3 words in the first sentence or so. I want her to use smaller words because I don't have a dictionary in my head!

Personally, I think it would be great if Stephenie would publish Midnight Sun because it's rare for books to have two point-of-views. Usually it's just the main character and "The End."

On the other hand, if she doesn't want to publish it, I would understand completely and would be okay not being able to read it.

I understand where she would be under stress because of the issue, but I think that she should continue.
Everyone knows Twilight! Midnight Sun, of course, will have extra details because it's Edward ... but overall, it is still the same story.
I HOPE SHE WRITES IT.
if she doesn't I WILL CRY, crying

I agree w/ you, but I think that breaking Dawn will be rated R when it comes out, not pg-13. twilight is pg-13 and nothing that 'graphic' happens in twilight.

Naw, Summit will aim for a PG-13 rating for Breaking Dawn. An R rating will blow out their target audience, pre-teen and teenage girls. The only scene that may be a bit sketchy would be the birthing scene. Even that is rather easy to get around.

Anyhow, back to Midnight Sun and something the origional poster said, it's not a copywrite issue in the least. It's Stephanie Meyer's work and she can post it on her website if she wants to. It doesn't prevent her from being able to get it published. It may make it a bit more difficult to find a publisher, since people already have access to it and it theoretically won't make as much money as it could, but it's not a copywrite thing. The creator of the work can do whatever they want with their own works. She could tie it to a rocket and send it to Mars if she wants to. (yah not a good analogy but you get the idea)

Yes Stephanie Meyer knows who released the manuscript for Midnight Sun. She gave out a few copies and each one was different. She isn't sure about finishing it because she's upset that her trust was shattered and that her work was released as it was. I would be upset too. Give her some time and space to gather her emotions. With something so personal as this, and yes it is very personal, it could take a lot of time...maybe a few years. She may secretly be working on it now to throw people off the scent. JK Rowling did that a TON with the Harry Potter series and it worked pretty well for her.

Casting is obviously a rather heated subject so I'm not going into that except to say that it's always a good idea to keep an open mind to other's thoughts. Flaming someone for posting their opinions is not polite nor is it being open-minded. As my husband says, if you can't gather an intelligent and logical arguement, then what's the point to debate?

Yes I know my spelling sucks. Please don't make fun of me for it. I've always had a hard time with spelling.

she should keep writing it!!
I cant belive she would even think about not publshing it
simple to get her to know we want this we

1. hold her hostage til she agress to finsh and publish the book
2.make millions of youtube videos telling her we want it

(the first one was a joke dont take it serisouly)

I don't think it's as much that she isn't sure that we want it, but more that she isn't in the right mindset to write it. Think about it. If your creation was hijacked and then raked over the coals like Midnight Sun was, wouldn't you feel discouraged, upset, and betrayed? Even a little resentful? Give her some time. She'll probably calm down and finish it.
