The Gennin exam consists of a set of tests. They will test the ability to use jutsu they have learned and their combat prowess. When a Student takes his Genin exam they will learn 2 Ninjutsu from the Genin Jutsu page, they also learn a 'shunshin no jutsu' based on their hidden village. They aspire to reach the Chunin rank, fully aware that by the time they take the exam, they may die. In order to become a Chunin, the Genin is subjected to what is basically called the "Chuunin Exam." First the Genin will take a quiz, the questions are not easy and noticeably downsize the applying gennin. They then must enter a a dark forest with many dangers. Each genin team is given a scroll of heaven, throughout the forest there are hidden scrolls of earth. For the gennin to pass they must make it to the finish line, with both scrolls, unfortunately for the Genin, there aren't enough earth scrolls to go around. Once this part of the exam is over they will be subjected to a one on one fight which is randomly chosen. The battles are deathmatch, though it is up to the fighters whether they wish to kill. At the end the remaining ninja will be graded, and then told if they may become Chunin, the occasional wild card might be placed as Chuunin also.
