On Feb. 14th, 2008 (Seoul local time), Bandai Korea and CJ Internet officially announced the DragonBall Online project at a press conference held at Seoul Plaza Hotel. DragonBall Online is expected to be launched in Korea before the end of 2008 at the latest and is set for 2009 launch in Japan.

At the press conference, a latest DragonBall Online CG Trailer and a lot of DragonBall Online related information were made public. Staying true to DragonBall Z, DragonBall Online has been enhanced a lot in terms of story. In the game, players can join PvP at the World Martial Arts Tournament and take on quests with the goal of collecting dragon balls. Closely related to the original work, DragonBall Online will make players feel immersed and present.



A lot of MMORPG elements have been blended into DragonBall Online, like diversified races with distinctive characteristics, job change system, transformation system, etc. In addition, chain attack battle, HTB battle and other battle systems will vividly re-present the fierce battle scenes in the original work.
















Story: It was Age 784 when Goku snuck away from the Tenkaichi Budokai with Uub. Then, about 200 years later, in Age 1000, the stage is set for “Dragon Ball Online”! One day, during rigorous training, you sense a disaster has struck the world! The Earth is divided into parts by the Dark Eye, a lively group of scoundrels, whose mastermind is a total enigma… With the guidance of Time Patroller Trunks, who suddenly appeared, you set out on a journey to reclaim the lost peace. On your adventure, you will meet many other players who have the same goal. Together, can you overcome your limits, defeat the mastermind, and save the world!?

As you can see, you get to choose between playing as your own customized (change your hair, costume, etc.) kid Saiyan, Human or Namek and in-game you grow into an adult character

On Jan 25th, a latest poster of Dragon Ball Online was released on NTL's official website. This news do makes us excited for it is the update 9 months after the release announcement, though just a piece of poster. I guess that we'll get the full view of this game very soon.

Unveiled in 2007 by BandaInamcoGames, the new MMORPG DragonBall Online is based on the hot Japanese comics Dragon Ball, and is now under development by the group teamed up by Korea and Japan. It was announced on April, 2007 that it would start beta test in Korea in summer of 2007 and officially launch in 2008 in Japan. But from then on we had never heard any news about this cool game, even a test report, both in Korea and Japan until this update.



Introduction

Dragon Ball Online, a massively multiplayer online game based on the Japanese comics Dragon Ball, is nearing the open beta testing phase.

According to an anonymous source, Korean game development company Ntl Inc. is developing a massively multiplayer online game based on Dragon Ball. Having high completeness, Dragon Ball Online will start is open beta in the first half of 2007. However, an official announcement has been withheld because the Korean operator for the game has not been selected.

Dragon Ball Online is not a casual game but a MMORPG set in the Dragon Ball world 250 years after the original work. In the game, players will take adventures in Dragon Ball world. The game graphics fully reflect the comic style of the original work. The characters in Dragon Ball Online are made in 3D, and the game has introduced quite a number of innovative game systems including world martial arts tournament and marriage system.

The world martial arts tournament is an online counter strike system which produces the strongest player in the game.

The marriage system is a system characterized by alternation of generations, where players can get married and have their children and they rely on their offspring to continue their adventures in the game. Players can only acquire new abilities through alternation of generations.

It is said that Ntl. Inc. is supported by Bandai in developing Dragon Ball Online and that Akira Toriyama, the author of Dragon Ball, has been keeping an eye the development of the game. According to the source, due to the author's excessive interference, some of the contents in the original work will not be incorporated into this game, for example, players will not be able to play as Monkey King.

Marriage System : When Dragon Ball Online , was first being developed at that time no other martial arts MMO had a marriage system, so they thought it would be a bright idea to implement it then , well unfortunately times changed, and now its very much a normal thing in MMO`s, Dragon Ball Online has a marriage feature and apparently from our reports its a very in-depth one!

Player Vs Player : If any of you are familiar with the party finding system in City Of Heroes / City Of Villains then this will ring a bell for you , there will be an option to show you all the people who are online, their level , if they have the PVP acceptance on and the chances of winning against them , this would have revolutionized MMORPG`s , but it seems like other MMO`s hit it before Dragon Ball Online.
