The owlry is in one of the towers of Hogwarts. You go up the staircase and there are owls sitting on perches and coming and going through the windows. If you have an owl it lives in here and there are also school owls which you can use whenever you need too.

Riley walks up to the Owlery to send a most precious birthday letter to her dear mother. As she hands the pink envelope to a rather cranky looking owl, a boy walks in. He's rather handsome, his hair put perfectly in place, and a sweet smile on his face. Just as Riley looks away from him, the cranky owl nips at her finger in aggravation. "Ouch!" Riley squeaks as the owl flies from the owlery. The handsome boy comes running to her side. "Are you okay?" He asks in distress. Riley replies, "I'm fine, but may I ask, what is your name?"

Seamus entered the Owlery and began scanning for Fig. He wanted to make sure that he was here, and not lost, or making trouble. Although he had always been pretty well behaved. He had tucked his cage back under the bed in the Dormitory after Transfiguration.
He heard a voice and turned towards it. There was a girl here, talking to herself. Seamus turned one way, and then the other. Still no one. Slowly, trying to be quiet, Seamus backed out of the room. He could find Fig later.

Walking into the Owlry, Lin took out something from her pocket. She walked over to a silver cage, decorated with odd, asian swirls and carvings. Inside was Yue- a white owl. Yue snapped at the cage bars, and Lin slipped in a piece of Chinese Green Onion Pancake in. The owl gulped it in a heartbeat, and Lin grinned. "You're going to get fat, you know that. Then I'll have a fat owl too heavy to carry messages, and with a bad attitude," she teased. Once Yue recieved his fair share of food, Lin left for the Dormitory.

Amelia walked into the owlery scanning the rows of perches looking for owl Demetrius. Turns out she didn't need to look at all since her loyal owl flew down to greet her. "Why hello there" Amelia said stroking Demetrius feathers, "How are you today?" Even though Amelia knew the owl couldn't talk she still laughed at how the owl hooted in response to her question. "This is a letter for Dad wishing him and everyone at home a Merry Christmas. Also it says that he will be receiving a delivery soon from some stores in Hogsmeade which contains their christmas presents." The owl nodded while Amelia reached into her pocket and pulled out an owl treat. "Here ya go. Safe flight Demetrius" and with that the owl flew out the owlery window and out of sight. .....

Adele knew she looked ridiculous, but fortunately it was early enough in the morning that the chances of somebody stumbling upon her were extremely low, "Santos! I know you can bloody well hear me!"

Santos had been given to her younger sister as a birthday present the previous year. The great grey owl was a magnificent creature, but had the worst attitude of any delivery owl Adele had ever encountered, "Listen you great lout! Madra actually gave me permission to use you this time."

Santos continued snoozing obliviously on his perch, presenting Adele with a dilemma. She had promised her grandparents a letter detailing her intentions for break. She had forgotten to mail said letter in a timely fashion, and received a rather nasty howler. Leave it to the Walgraves to blow the entire situation out of proportion. None the less, she needed to get the this letter to her grandparents as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this was easier said than done. Her grandparents's estate, in addition to being in the middle of nowhere, was protected by all sorts of elaborate enchantments (many of which, Adele was sure were illegal). In Adele's past experiences, every single time she tried to use a school owl to send a letter to her grandparents the poor creature would somehow get blown off course.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. She pulled her wand out of her pocket, "Accio Santos!"

Just as the words escaped from her mouth, she heard the sounds of footsteps behind her. Unfortunately, before she could offer an explanation, in a flurry of feathers and frantic hooting her Santos began whizzing over to her. Adele was about to learn the hard way that accio was not intended to be utilized on sleepy owls.

Moira slipped up into the Owlery quietly. She gazed around the room, turning her body slowly. Although Sebastian was the only pet for her, there was something about owls. How free they are. Flying through the air, delivering messages and swooping through forests for prey. It's like constant Quidditch.

Seamus rushed up the staircase with Makala. He felt bad about staying away for so long, and having to drop Fig off so suddenly. He released his arm from the younger girl and moved towards the perches. His eyes scanned the rows of owls, looking for his own. Once again he reminded himself to write a letter to Jana.

"Go fast enough, there?" Makala teased Seamus as he rushed over to his owl. She went ahead and walked over to where her own snowy owl was, and beckoned her down. Harra flew down to perch on her shoulder, and she stroked her feathers. "Hey, girl. Miss me?" she asked the owl softly. Harra replied with a soft hoot.

Still searching the rows, he spoke to Makala, "Sorry. Didn't mean to rush." Fig wasn't there. Seamus scuffed his feet. He hoped he was off hunting, and wasn't holding a grudge. Seamus still didn't know enough about the owl to know how he would react to the argument. If you can argue with an owl. He turned and eyes Makala's owl. "She's a beauty, yeah? Have you been together long?"

Makala smiled and looked at Seamus. "It's quite alright." She stroked her owl a bit more before addressing his question. "I found her in a bush with a damaged wing before I started my first year. We've been together for quite a while." Harra turned her blue eyes on Seamus and hotted softly at him, flying over and landing on his shoulder. Makala giggled. "I think she likes you."

Seamus reached up and gave the owl a small pat. "There's a love." He cooed to her. She was a right fine owl, and nearly as white as Figaro was dark. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small treat for her to feed on, saving the rest for Fig's return. He addressed Makala next, "Fig's out I suppose, bringing me letters from my various and many admirers. Might be that the load was too much for him, and he had to stop and rest."

Makala laughed at Seamus's comment as Harra ate the treat he had held out to her. "Admirers, eh? Like who?" she challenged, rolling her eyes jokingly. "Or are you just getting cocky again?" She observed him, an amused glint in her eyes. "Yeah, just being cocky once again."

Seamus mock pouted at the girl, and gave the owl another pat as she finished the treat. "Cocky implies that I cannot back it up." He stuck his tongue out at the girl, "And I can. I just don't know enough people here yet for it to be glaringly obvious." Giving the owl a final stroke, he gently disengaged her from his shoulder and handed her back to Makala.

Makala took back her owl and allowed her to go back to her perch above her head. "Oh? She smirked. "Well, then. I'd like to see just how you can back up the fact you have tons of admirers." She stuck her tounge out right back at him, giggling slightly at the childishness of the gesture.
