Introduction to Temptation Temptation. Vampires have always been known for doing acts that most humans would refer to as inhumane, dastardly wicked, or down right evil. Be this for a religious matter, political, rebellious, whatever the reason, vampires have never let go of temptation. Or so we'd like to believe. Greetings. My name is Regeous Schibbs, and I'd like to bring you a documentary that my team and I, here at The Guild of Ancient Arts & Cultural Studies, have accounted for just one year. The human mind is considered to be a simple and inferior thing when we talk about the concepts of time and space, and even mythology. Just six years ago researchers have proven the existence of vampires to the world. However, these vampires live much secluded lives from the vampires of mythology. But, they are indeed the explanation of many mysterious deaths over the previous decades. We all know that humans cannot always overcome temptations. Vampires, as we continue to study them and their behavior, tend to become more and more mysterious. How do vampires deal with temptation? Are there vampires that kill for play, kill to eat, or don't even kill at all? Those who hold their breath at temptation and look away are never to be heard of, it seems. Yet, is it for this reason alone we never hear of a vampire resisting the powerful nature within? We've managed to track down a secret vampire cult and negotiated a truce with the cult leader to record them for up to a year. The cult has declined us permission to use their real organization's alias, so we've chosen to call them the Temptation Cult, relative to our studies. Five of our people will follow around five of these vampires and record them each and every night for up to a year to see how they deal with temptation and to find out in the end whether or not it's true that vampires can or can't resist temptation. Rules and Guidelines Thread RulesDo not post any material that would otherwise conflict with the Gaia ToS. Do not post any inappropriate content, such as sexually explicit images or detailed sexual imagery. Do not post any vulgar material. Swearing is allow but keep it minimal. Failure to adhere to these terms will result in A) One warning to remove or edit such offenses immediately, giving room for 1 hour after your post has been confirmed as offensive B) Reporting of your behavior to the VLP Guild Moderators where they will deal with you respectively C) Reporting of post to Gaia officials (if it conflicts with Gaia ToS) and you have already received your warning. Note: If there is no response to the warning both B and C will be carried out simultaneously. Roleplay RulesProfiles must be screened before being applied to the roleplay. This roleplay consists of two sides, the researchers and the vampires being researched. However, there can only be 5 vampires and 5 researchers altogether. You may choose their names, their lives, a history of the characters, whom will research whom/whom will be researched by whom, and what the research is about. Vampires and researchers may interact with anyone else involved in the records. There are allowed attempts at trying to kill another player by some means, but no player must be killed or severely injured by another player. Players acting out the roles of the vampires will simply do what they normally do as a vampire and may try not to be researched, while players acting as the researchers will analyze their behavior and try to dictate some of their vampire's actions by inserting elements into the story. Every vampire may choose how they will react to any situation and every researcher may attempt to dictate the scenario and then introduce their findings. Vampires may choose to interact with researchers how they please. Researchers may never be killed or harmed in such a way that they must resign their research duties. Vampires may not be killed by a researcher (if they discover the means to kill one or absolutely believe they must be killed). Vampires not apart of the story and humans not apart of the story are free to be dictated however necessary to make for an interesting read. All roleplay posts must be at least a paragraph in length, consisting of three to five (or more) sentences. Every third post made by a player must consist of two paragraphs, one containing the events they performed/witnessed, and another involving their current state regarding the research or how they are being researched. This doesn't mean that every third post in the roleplay must have the extra content, only that if a player has made three posts then that third post must contain a summery or the current situation between both parties involved in the research. This process is to symbolize one night of research. Thus, after 365 third posts the year and research will be over. (If characters must leave the story for an OOC matter, try to introduce why before leaving and a replacement for the character will hopefully be brought in later. Players are not required to interact with other players, but are only recommended to.) Believe me, this sounds complicated but you will enjoy the outcomes, especially once you get into the story.

Profiles Coming very soon! Like, later today kinda soon. More profiles needed. Characters marked with cheese_whine by their name are set in stone and can no longer be modified. Characters marked with ninja next to their name are either under revision or finalizing. Omniscient CharactersCharacters that are major factors to the story's movement. These charactesr are pretty much the GMs and NPCs. Historian Regeous Schibbs ninja Still quite active for his age, the 51-year-old Regeous Schibbs has been studying ancient cultures of both mythological and historical civilizations of the past for over 30 years. In his early years of research he cracked an ancient language which opened the door to a strange realization, that humans were indeed not the only race out there. The ancient language talked about a culture which would feed on human bodies by consuming their blood. Schibbs called them the Veximuns Race, in relation to the mythology of the cursed beings in vampirism. However, his records seemed totally outrageous that such a race could exist and be nowhere else located in history, and were often criticized and ridiculed as childish and indecisive. So from then on he continued the research on his findings of the Veximus Race in secret while trying to uphold and defend his reputation for years after. At the age of 42 he finally acquired enough money to open up his own research facility and named it The Guild of Ancient Arts & Cultural Studies, which would have two branches or research, Historical Studies and Mythological Studies, the former being an actual study that would cover up the latter study as well as being used for factual historical material.
Just six years ago, his team uncovered the existence of the modern Veximus Race; the Vampire Race from mythology now became truth to the world. It would then take another four-and-a-half years for the government to protect this race from outraged and disgruntled citizens. Many grudges stream from the vampires for being discovered and many religious leaders shun the vampires as a spawn of Satan or simply a demon-type being. Schibbs quickly tried to level the playing field by researching the vampires' habits and daily lives and showing that they were not to be feared but accepted into society. At one point he got too close to an enraged vampire and was nearly killed, but he continued his research.
One year later he would conclude his analysis of the vampires as being no more closely related to humans than an ordinary human underground cult, only with a tendency of killing to stay alive. He would thereafter televise the records his Guild made as a seasonal program on many historical networks. Guild CharactersCharacters originating from The Guild of Acient Arts & Cultural Studies. These are playable characters. -Empty- ninja -Empty- ninja -Empty- ninja -Empty- ninja -Empty- ninja Cult CharactersCharacters originating from The Temptation Cult. These are playable characters. SkellingtonPunkAngel Phoenix Nightroad ninja Despite her age of 350, the beautiful vampiress Phoenix Nightroad has only one flaw- she has a temper that matches her hair color, crimson red. She remains to herself, yet is best friends with Ash, Vladimir (named after his father, Vlad the Impeller), and Stephan. Phoenix remains to be a rather cold-hearted person to everyone but these three boys, who have managed to deal with her for centuries. Phoenix’s past consists of murder and mistrust after her mother murdered her father for power in able to hold the title of Ancient. She was born a full-blooded vampire. Her mother, Ember Nightroad, was a woman who craved power, and Phoenix only being a child, loved her mother and gave her any power she possessed. James Nightroad was more affectionate. Once he was put before Phoenix’s mother to become and Ancient, Ember grew enraged and killed her husband and the father of her child. She left her daughter alone a few short weeks before the claim of her title and the death of Phoenix’s beloved father. The coven took Phoenix in when she was the young age of 115. Ash, Vlad, and Stephan would hold Phoenix through the nights she cried and showed her ways of only killing humans when you have to feed and not just for "a midnight snack". She adapted to the coven and it’s rules but still carried that hatred for her mother and others like her in her heart. The head of the clan heavily persuaded (forced) her to go under observation at The Guild of Ancient Arts & Cultural Studies. It was explained the experience would cause her to change or even become more sympathetic towards others. Many of the vampires in her coven just wanted to get rid of the feisty vampiress. Phoenix, if bothered, is not afraid to let you know exactly what is on her mind Apprearance +Phoenix has crimson red hair with natural black streaks that flows in curls down to her chest. It’ll be noticed that it has the tendency to cover her full face or just her eyes, which are candy blue with light green specks. She is relatively short compared to her friends at 5’8”. Finally, Phoenix has pale white skin with a slender body and slight curves. -Empty- ninja -Empty- ninja -Empty- ninja -Empty- ninja
