I especially agree with you on reason #2. Harry was the last person (well, aside from Pettigrew) to see Cedric alive, so she probably figured he'd understand and maybe want to talk about it with her.

I think she liked Harry too, at least somewhat... she obviously had liked Cedric a lot, but she did get upset when Harry wanted to go off to meet Hermione, and I don't think she would've gotten that upset about it if either 1) she didn't like Harry or 2) Harry was meeting Ron or Neville or another boy. She was probably jealous, or else she'd have just planned to meet him somewhere later to talk about Cedric some more. And didn't she initiate the thing with the mistletoe?

I think she was probably more confused than anything. She liked Cedric, but she also liked Harry. Harry was with Cedric when Cedric died, so seeing Harry reminded her of Cedric.

And that's my 2 cents on the whole thing. smile

I was rather doubtful at first, because she was the one who was carelessly saying that Roger Davies had asked her out, then she got pissed when Harry said he was going to meet Hermione. And he said that Cho could come with him. Wouldn't it have been obvious that it wasn't anything more than friendly if Harry had openly asked Cho to come along? neutral I just want people's opinions on that one.

But yah, what you said sounds plausible.

Maybe she also liked the attention. She had gotten it from Cedric, but he was gone, so she turned to the most likely new source: Harry. Mentioning Roger Davies might have been a way to get him jealous. It would also explain why she had gotten so upset when he went off to meet Hermione. Or maybe I'm just looking at it the wrong way. *shrugs*

I had been wondering about this for awhile. Though, I think she might have had mixed feelings for Harry all along. She seemed awfully nice to him.

I also wonder if she might have been trying to find a 'replacement' for Cedric. Perhaps she felt a little bit alone and felt that Harry would be the closest thing to Cerdic. I mean, concidering they both made it into the Triwizard Tournament. And they had both been there when Cedric died (obviously >.>). But yeah, I think she mostly wanted someone to talk to Cerdic about.

But I still think she liked thim, as well.

I think she mentioned Roger Davies to make Harry jealous. Harry wasn't acting the way she expected, and she thought she needed to "encourage" him. The big difference between the two situations is that she DIDN'T go out with Roger Davies, whereas Harry DID go to meet Hermione.

Cho always treated Harry nicely, and she seemed genuinely sad that she had to refuse his invitation to the Yule Ball in GoF. I think she had some feelings for Harry that were increased by her need to talk to someone about Cedric.

But at the same time, Harry was willing to let Cho come with him. While he WAS going to meet Hermione, it obviously wasn't anything special, or he wouldn't have asked Cho if she'd like to come. Cho's intent was to make Harry jealous; Harry was just being tactless. Cho thought he was trying to make her jealous, even though she had been doing THE EXACT SAME THING.

I don't think Cho is an attention whore. If she were doing it for the attention, even if that was only one reason of many, she would've been doing other things for attention. She seemed rather soft-spoken--she didn't go out of her way to attract attention.

She seems like she needed a companion (which she probably did), and she saw the companionship she craved in Harry.

*shrugs* That's just one theory. Someone had to play the Devil's advocate and side with all the fanfiction people who make Cho into a slut xp .

Actually, I more agree with the fact that she wanted a companion, and was midly attracted to Harry, but you do have to admit that she was being a bit of an attention-whore.

I don't think that was how Cho viewed the situation. She thought that they were going to spend the day in Hogsmeade as a couple, not as a group. Not only that, but she might have even thought Harry was suggesting he date both her and Hermione. Even if she understood that Hermione was just a friend, she still had every right to be offended. Harry was being daft. When you take a girl out on a date, you don't tell her during the date that you're going to meet your friends in just a few minutes. From her perspective, he should have told her ahead of time.

To some extent, I can see it that way. I still can't see how Cho thought Harry was dating Hermione--she must not be that observant, because Harry wasn't really showing any signs that he was dating her when he wasn't with Cho. Maybe Cho didn't see him much in the halls. *shrug* Especially since, as I mentioned, Harry had invited her along, which confirmed that it wasn't supposed to be a Harry/Hermione thing.

Though, I get what you mean about Cho not wanting it to be with a group. I think it might have helped if Harry had known what he was going to be doing and told her, then she might not have minded so much.

People write her up as selling sex for money? Where do they get these ideas?

I seen her written as OMG!seducingHarry! Or hooking up and siding with Deatheaters. Or just generally acting like a slut.

A lot of people thought Harry was dating Hermione. It was in the Rita Skeeter articles from GoF. Also, it's quite common for people to assume that if a man and a woman are good friends, there must be something more going on. Since Harry is the most famous of the Golden Trio, it would be natural for those Hogwarts students who do not have much interaction with the Trio to think that Harry was dating Hermione and ignore Ron completely.

*smacks head* I completely forgot about the Skeeter articles. >.<;;

And see, this is how society is prejudiced. I could be good friends with a girl and no one would think anything of it, but if I were good friends with a guy, it'd suddenly be ZOMG dating.
