There's more?
Yes, there's still a chance to play a part in the unfolding drama. These four characters are less involved in the plot than the four in the other audition, and therefore have less strict RP requirements. However, you still need to finish a set amount of RP in order to keep them.

Event specific rules
- All the usual RP rules apply
- You may try for TWO of these Sentinels, please make your preference clear in your entry. However,
- You may only win ONE of these Sentinels, so choose carefully before entering.
- No further customization will be permitted at this time (but you may try for an upgrade slot after the plot is finished).
- These Sentinels DO NOT currently have any companions.
- Depending on how things play out there is a risk for death or permanent injury.
- In order to earn your character you will have to complete three roleplays (one roleplay will be part of the plot, you must plan the other two)
- At least one of those roleplays should be with non-plot characters.
- Roleplay with characters you already own doesn't count towards your roleplay quota.
- These two extra RPs must be completed within one month of the end of the scripted RPs.
- You will get some required meetings, and some suggestions, but you will ultimately decide what happens during the confrontations.
- The Herald will be available as needed for NPCs.

Tentative Timeframe
October 6th - Auditions open
October 12th 5pm EST - Auditions close
October 31 - One "scripted" roleplay finished
November 30th - All three roleplays finished

These deadlines might be tweaked as needed if the audition for the main cast needs some more time.

You say, he broke your heart,
he left you crying, but he did not set you free
And now you feel like you can never love again

Okay, so let him go
It's up to you how long you let his memory stay
And do you really want to carry on this way

Not all Wildtypes are able to track their pure and perfect wildtype ancestors all the way back to Noctus himself. In fact, most Wildtypes belong to perfectly normal families without very famous or interesting relatives. This particular male was Minder raised, like so many others, and knows nothing about his parents or relatives.

He has admired the Forager from afar for quite some time now, but her pure and perfect heritage is quite frankly a bit intimidating (Especially since it seems to matter a lot to her)... So what can someone like him offer to someone like her? But she's been so out of sorts lately, and he just wants to make her happy again. Perhaps he could at least try to cheer her up...

She's not nosy, she's just concerned. Healthy, pureblooded Sentinels should not sit around unloved and unhappy. Her dear cousin needs to get himself together after that fiasco with the Forager, but that's no excuse to resort to taking the first female that comes along. Why else would he court a Mist? It's not proper. It's not fair to him, and his family, and her! The poor girl, she would be so much better off with a proper Mist male.

This Wildtype is actually a true romantic at heart, and while she has been brought up to be just as typist as the rest of her family she could change her mind if she thought she was fighting for True Love.

He would be perfect for her. He's a Mist, he's very nice and polite and a good provider and... he's a Mist. A few well meaning Sentinels have decided it's up to them to discourage the Trapper from making the mistake of her life. Why pick a simple woodworking Wildtype when she can do so much better? Clearly she'll see reason when they introduce her to this strapping young lad. Repeatedly.

Unfortunately, nobody seems to care about his own opinion, and as a matter of fact he's not interested at all. This whole setting up business is just making him feel awkward.

Believe it or not, but this old male is actually distantly related to the Trapper. He's a bit of a mutt, a cross between a Deep Woods and a Mist-Deep Woods hybrid, and he's been around for quite some time. Born during the building boom after the War he was the apprentice to one of the best Builders at that time.

Recently, the demand for Builders has started to rise as the population of Noctua steadily grows, and with the central platform ruined the old knowledge is once again needed. Perhaps it is time for this old-timer to find a good apprentice. Preferably a young woodworker of some sort...

My tools are bigger than yours.
Part I – The Sentinel

Player: surreality
Name: Blackbirch
Nicknames: bob depending on the sentinel, it's either black, birch, or grumps.
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Elder
Hatch Date: ???
Type: Aberrant (Deep Woods x (Mist x Deep Woods))
Task: Builder
Personality: Some sentinels would claim that Blackbirch lives up to his name, metaphorically: he's harsh, rough around the edges, and has a tendency to be fairly rude to his customers. Granted, if any of them would go out of their way to get to know him just a little bit, they'd realize that instead, he has a rather dry and sarcastic sense of humor, and nothing makes him cackle more than riling up some pompous old bird with a head too large to fly with, especially if they even begin to give him any grief about his lineage. Aside from that sort of unpleasant customer, he's more than happy to help out without any stray comments, and usually has a large group of 'regulars' that always return for his professional services.
However, despite all of that, he's well known for being a bit of a brooder and becomes too involved in himself and whatever work that comes by; which, after a long period of slow and steady jobs, is becoming too much for him to handle on his own and his pride isn't ready to admit to it just yet.
History: It would be an understatement to say that the prime of his life were in the years that followed the Great Clan Wars. Although he was very young at the time, nothing thrilled him more than learning all that he could as a crafter, and then later as an apprentice, and finally, becoming a full-fledged Builder that helped in the reconstruction of Noctua itself. It gave him a meaningful purpose in life, knowing that he was taking what was once broken and tattered from the remnants of the wars and fixing, or sometimes replacing with, something better that could bring hope to other sentinels, almost as though it were a symbol of rebirth. Those years were full of accomplishments, friendships, and personal growth, both physically and mentally for him, and he'll always cherish the memories he made then.
When the final platform was finished, time seemed to slow down for Blackbirch. Not many sentinels were in dire need of large and wooden structures, so the collaborations between himself and fellow task-members were diminished to only a rare few times in a span of a couple of years, and only when something needed to be maintained. He noticed that a lot of his friends turned to a more aesthetic approach to crafting, which turned his stomach into knots; there's nothing more demeaning to their craft than to make precious jewelry to those vain enough to wear them, or at least, that was his own opinion.
In the end, he decided to move from the heart of Deep Woods to a more northern and isolated location where he knew family was nearby, and settled himself a home and workshop. He's lived there since then, tending to clients who needed repairs in their hollow or a small platform added to their territory. He wasn't able to find a female companion and start a family, though he'll tell you that it worked out for the better, as they would have only gotten in the way of his true passion. Wether that is how he truly feels about it or not, nobody else knows, as he prefers to keep the conversation away from his personal life and towards current news and politics. He has had a few apprentices here and there, though none of them were particularly interested in the harness of wood or its practical uses, which caused him to become bitter towards crafters who hone their skills for jewelry.
After the storm hit, his 'business' took a surprisingly sharp turn away from boring and manageable, and he suddenly found himself just barely able to get most things done. As much as he'd like to think age has nothing to do with it, he is no longer the very capable builder from his youth, and is starting to have second thoughts about being able to continue his projects alone.
Territory: On the northern outskirts of Deep Woods, a gathering of old, strong oak trees.

A match made in...
Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Aurrie Beaues
Name: Hallowfell
Nicknames: Hal, Hallow
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Young Adult
Hatch Date: ???
Type: Mist
Task: Medic
Personality: Hal tends to be an amiable fellow and with a soft heart and soft touch. His foster parents raised him to take things slowly and one flap at a time, so that is what he does. Ever since his hatchling and fledgling nights, he has been more on the meek side, though he is willing to stand up for ideals that he believes are right. He prefers to focus most of his attention on helping his fellow sentinels retain or regain their health. He is known for his diligence and intelligence, but tends find himself lost and talked over in a conversation because of his meek disposition. He does want to eventually find a mate, but wishes to take his time. He is in no rush and wants to savor each and every night for what it has to offer. The right female will eventually come along, but he wants to focus on his work until he finds her... Or him... The constant introductions to the Mist Trapper has him feeling a little more reclusive, as every outing or meeting seems to revolve about how wonderful she is. Truth be told, he has little interest in her
History: As an egg, Hallowfell was left at the Minder's Enclave. His blood parents had a rather large clutch and could not possibly keep all of them warm and well fed. The little Mist egg quickly found a home beneath the feathered bums of a Medic and an Apothecary. The two raised and cared for the young Mist as if he was their own and he was none the wiser, not that it would of mattered to him, anyways.
He became interested in his mother's work at a young age and she and her patients, most of them anyways, did not seem to mind the quiet little youngster observing on the opposite end of the platform. Windfall was a stern, yet caring Medic with a gentle soul and a soft touch. The bright female was absolutely thrilled that the little one expressed so much interest in her work that she did everything possible to help him obtain knowledge.
His father was the one who taught him to take things slowly and steadily. It had been the patient, large male who had taught Hal to fly, and it had been a task, indeed. The little one was absolutely terrified of falling and it took him quite a while to catch up with his other agemates. It had also been the soft, old Apothecary that had taught him to hunt, amongst other things Fledglings learn from their parents, teachers, and minders. Hoarfrost was as amiable as his mate was stern and gentle; the two matched each other well and provided Hallowfell with a wonderful environment to grow and prosper, even if he was a little soft spoken.
He still remains in contact with Windfall and Hoarfrost, and both are eager to offer their son knowledge and support through out his life. Though his task requires that he be distanced from other Medics, territory wise, he makes time to visit his mother and father every so often.
Territory: North of Deep Woods, not too far from the Swift Cold River. He has a decent sized territory and possesses a single, small platform on his main tree, as well as a hollowed out section that serves as a resting place for patients. A slightly smaller tree is where he chooses to rest when not working. Unfortunately, it is a bit near to the beautiful Mist Trapper. While he agrees that she is lovely, he really wishes that their neighbors would quit trying to introduce them to each other... Repeatedly.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: CuterThanYou
Name: Frost
Nicknames: What's wrong with Frost? Frost in and of itself is a simple, short, well-defined name that's suitable for both name and nickname. Say it with me....FROST!
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: ???
Type: Mist
Task: Artisan
Personality: Frost is a handsome Sentinel, he definitely knows it, and he won't hesitate for a second to flaunt the fact. Although he's mindful to his elders and remembers his manners (for the most part), there is no doubt in his mind that he's among the cream of the crop, so to speak. He has a knack for his task, and prides himself on his artistic taste, which, of course, he tends to impress upon those who'll give him the time of day. While he might be considered somewhat of an egotist (he just blames the "horrible stereotyping" of Mists, naturally), he makes up for his personality flaws by proving that he's good for his word. If someone needs assistance, he'll more than happily assist (provided there's no ruffling of feathers involved, of course), if someone needs help, he'll do his best to aid them in their time of need (and even give them accessory tips and offerings from his healthy-sized collection of pre-made trinkets, while he's at it!). One thing, however, that he simply cannot tolerate, is having things decided for him. Considering himself to be of sound mind and knowledgeable in many many areas (whether that is true or not has yet to be determined nor will his egotism allow him to admit to such inexperience), it's a personal peeve of his to be forced into situations or scenarios in which he himself did not decide to take part in. While he respects those both older and wiser than himself, he has selective hearing as to the wisdom they attempt to pass on to him. Their intentions and purpose may be well-meant, but for him, it's his way or no way at all.
History: Having been deeply rooted in the artistic way of life throughout his family tree, Frost discovered his task (and talent therein) at a relatively early age. As well, having had most of his lifetime to practice such a trade, he spent significantly less time perfecting and practicing other skills that his agemates had been learning at the same time. He learned the basics, of course, but like his parents and their parents before them and so forth, his main focus was on beauty, and the ability to retrieve it even out of the most simplest and ordinary of objects and Sentinels. Feeling somewhat burdened by the expectancies of both of his parents, Frost settled down nearby the Swift Cold River, leaving the remainder of his family back near the Sparkle River, giving himself enough freedom and distance to enjoy life on his own terms. He managed to find a healthy large tree to make himself a home in, giving himself enough space for his dyes and room to work in, if need be (and an Emergency Sprucing was called for). As well, he keeps with him a vast collection of accessories he's collected from neighboring crafters, having the mindset that there's always an accessory to compliment a nicely done dye job. It's always good to be prepared!
Territory: In the Cold Forest, East of the Swift Cold River, though relatively nearby to the River itself.
Mate: NOT FIERCEFIRE, BY GOD. [None]

I'm not nosy!
Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Chibi Sheepcat
Name: Mossbark
Nicknames: Mossy, Mosey
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Young Adult
Hatch Date: -
Type: Wildtype
Task: Scout
Personality: First things first: she is definitely not nosy! Concern should never be mistaken for nosiness! It’s almost shameful! But, when it all comes down to it, Mossbark wants to know everyone’s business and will take information from any source. She’s prone to gossip and exaggeration especially when telling her own stories, her vivid imagination often overriding her better judgment. Life has always been exciting to Mossbark, and even more so when she turns everything into a romantic drama. Anything can be done in the name of True Love, even producing Aberrants (oh no!). She would stand up for anyone who had a True Love relationship with another Sentinel despite her family’s pure upbringing. Romantic fantasies always have feuding families, after all, but that’s all part of the fun! Despite her willingness to play a role in the Minder-tale lives around her, Mossbark has never assumed that anything bad would happen to her for doing so. Her Minder-tales always ended in a happy ending, and she is definitely naïve enough to believe that these sorts of things could happen in real life. For the sake of her family she does try to keep up appearances, hissing at Aberrants, hooting for the home team and things like that, but her opinion could easily be swayed if she thought that she could play a part in a Minder-tale.
History: Like her cousin, Mossbark’s family can trace their ancestry practically back to Noctus himself. She is from a proud line of Wildtypes and she and her sibling were raised by the same kind of typist parents that raised her cousin . By the time she was graduating her cousin was already a step ahead of her and had found himself the perfect Wildtype mate. She began her scouting the night they settled into their territory, already dreaming of the wonderful ending that her cousin would have. However, when she returned to her family’s territory several nights ago, she discovered that things had not gone as planned. While her family considered her cousin’s actions to be of the utmost shame, Mossbark believed that he was merely grieving about his past relationship and had done something in the spur of the moment. She set herself a new task: to figure out what all this business was about a Mist female and her cousin.
Territory: She’s been given a small territory near her family’s roost, which they guard for her whenever she is out on business. “Her tree” as she calls it, is a large birch tree which she roosts in when she returns home. It sounded too much like a Minder-tale to give up on just yet.

She's too good for me...
Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Chibi Sheepcat
Name: Aspen
Nicknames: None
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: -
Type: Wildtype
Task: Minder
Personality: A gentle, polite Sentinel, Aspen is known for his good nature and his good sense of humor. He laughs easily and appears bothered by very little. Hatchlings are his passion, and he strives to create the type of loving environment that he grew up in for all those that come into his care. Because of this he rarely gets upset, and no one has ever heard him raise his voice to a hatchling or anyone for that matter. He always seems to be content with his lot in life, and is an easy target for mothering by female Minders. Despite his rather easy-going temperament, Aspen is fiercely loyal to his friends and very protective of the enclave. He is more than willing to chase Sentinels away from view if they are seen behaving as poor role models for the hatchlings. The idea of courting a mate has been on his mind for several moons now, however the female he has in mind is… well, more than a little intimidating. She’s a higher class than the female Minders that he’s used to, and he’s not sure he has what it takes to even catch her attention. Even so, he dislikes seeing her so sad like a cast-out hatchling and wishes there was something he could do to make her feel better.
History: Much like many other Sentinels, Aspen was left to the care of the Minders when he was only an egg. He has no memory of his parents or relatives, instead considering the Minders and the chicks he grew up with to be his “family.” There isn’t always space to segregate the types – nor do some Minders want to – and thus he grew up surrounded by all types of Sentinels. Come graduation he did not stray very far from the nest he grew up in, choosing to pursue the Minder task. He was moved to an enclave near the outskirts of the Deep Woods, and it was on one of his hunting trips that he first spotted the lone Wildtype Forager. Too shy to approach her, he has spent most of his free time perched on nearby trees watching her do her job. His knowledge of the circumstances surrounding her is hazy – he was never one to listen to the females’ gossiping – but he understands that something is the matter. He has been working on rallying his courage to go and speak with her, and at the very least try to cheer her up.
Territory: No territory of his own, he lives in a Minder’s enclave inside the Deep Woods. The enclave is close enough to the Forager’s territory that he does not have to fly far to watch her whenever he is off-duty.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Kitkaze
Name: Umberfoot
Nicknames: Umber
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Young Adult (recently Adult)
Hatch Date: 12/12
Type: Wildtype
Task: Minder
Personality:Umberfoot is the youngest and constantly reminded of this fact by her family. Although Umberfoot has been raised exceedingly pure-type oriented, being so young Umber is often prone to question 'why' or 'why not'. Umber is also very prone to fantasizing, thinking a sweet, strong male will come soaring into her life someday.

History: Umberfoot has been told how pure-types are to behave since she was a fledgling. No since before she was a fledgling. Having grown up with this mentality, and only this mentality, naturally Umber has grown very concerned for her cousin's recent choice of mate. Especially so soon after what happened with the Forager.

Knowing little else but what "should" be, Umber decides to do what she does best, ask questions. But perhaps this time Umber may have 'asked' herself into a bit of a pickle. Although her breeding and upbringing tell her to help her poor cousin, the hopeless romantic in young Umber secretly wants to see this pair happy.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Nevayeh
Name: Bandar
Nicknames: Ban
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Young Adult
Hatch Date: ???
Type: Mist
Task: Medic (although he dabbles in medicine-making as well, as a past-time.)
Personality: Though he certainly has a good heart, Bandar is not a particularly social Sentinel. It isn't that he dislikes others, he's just awkward and doesn't find himself to be particularly interesting - so why would anyone else? He's very dedicated to his work and takes both his successes and failures to heart. Nothing makes him happier than successfully treating an injury or illness, and nothing crushes him more than losing a patient. It is when he's treating a patient that his true self shows through - warm, honest and extremely caring.
History: Bandar's mother and father were rather old when they had their final clutch, and as a result, Ban was a singleton. Rather than passing their last offspring off to the Minders, they decided to raise Ban himself, although the inquisitive fledgling often tagged along with the Minder-raised fledglings on their early lessons. Though never a social butterfly, Ban proved a very eager, capable student from early on, and got on with nearly all of his teachers.

He forged a close bond with the Sentinel who taught him about healing. In fact, in the beginning, he didn't care for the art much, but felt obligated to keep at it because of his relationship with the older Sentinel. Of course, as time went on, his enthusiasm grew, and after a point, he couldn't imagine doing anything else.

Ban's parents both passed on not too long ago. Though the young Sentinel mourned their passing, he accepted it easily enough. They were old. The young become adults, adults become old, and the old die. He is more affected by deaths that he feels he could have somehow prevented.
Territory: At the moment, he's assigned to a territory slightly northwest of the Deep Woods, but he goes where he is needed.

My tools are bigger than yours.
Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Rakni Soup
Name: Cedar
Nicknames: Cee
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Elder
Hatch Date: 7/10
Type: Aberrant (Deep Woods x (Mist x Deep Woods))
Task: Builder
Personality: Cedar is a very gentle and caring old man. He's the type that never seems to lose any energy and instead has more and more of it the older he gets and showers the people he loves with attention and love whenever he's around them. Cedar is the kind of Sentinel who loves everyone and their mother and often when he's out hunting and he encounters another Sentinel he'll 'pull them over' and bore or amuse them with tales of the old times and by asking about the comings and goings of the forest. The only thing that sets off this old timer's temper is when people discriminate him or others for the sole purpose of them being aberrants or of a different type.
History: Born in the building boom after the Great War, Cedar quickly became adept at crafting wood and soon after graduating he became the apprentice of a renowned builder, under which he learned much about the art of building. In fact, Cedar has had a talon in creating many of the platforms that 'modern' Sentinels use every day. Once the boom faded and the need for builders sank, Cedar moved out of the Deep Woods and headed out to where his family lived. Watching over the generations from a distance, Cedar has passed the time in his territory by slowly and deliberately building platforms alone and has managed to get several onto the trees during the years he has spent in relative solitude, keeping his knowledge fresh. Recently, the demand of builders has increased and word has reached this old bird's ears as well. However, Cedar feels his age encroaching upon him and he's worried that he might not have long to live and even shorter time when, not if, he gets back into action, so he's searching for an apprentice. A young wood-worker would be perfect.
Territory: Big and very well kept territory with several small platforms he has built himself. It also has several hollows to sleep in, also built by him.

Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Sir Ichigo
Name: Applewood
Nicknames: Apple
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Young Adult
Hatch Date: ---
Type: Wildtype
Task: Watcher

Personality:
Applewood watches. Not for enjoyment or duty, but because she simply can't decide what to do. Some days she is convinced that it would be ideal to be a minder; however, youthful fickleness quickly sets in, and she decides that it would be better to be a gatherer. Or an artisan. Or a bard. Without any special talents or a particular fondness for any one task, she finds herself stuck watching.

There's always plenty to watch, of course. Settled in the same part of the woods as her extended family, she observes a fair amount of drama on a daily basis. She likes to help settle squabbles and ease hurt feelings, even despite past.... fiascos.

A priority in Applewood's life at the moment is finding a mate. She's young, but she's been told about the type of Sentinel she was destined to love since she was a young fledgling, so why wait?

History:
Born into an extensive and ancient line of Wildtypes, Applewood's place in her family was decided long before she was born. As the single offspring in her parents' last clutch, she has enjoyed the full benefits of a parenting strategy perfected on her older siblings. She was quite sheltered, to say the least. Apple was raised to believe that Wildtypes are the purest race among Sentinels, and that, as a member of such an old and undiluted line, it was her duty to find a mate from an equally pure family. Her chicks would be taught to respect and value their heritage, and the family's pride would remain intact. This was how it was for Applewood's sisters, and there was never any question that this is how it would be for her.

Territory:
Applewood has, with the assistance of her parents, settled in a tree near the rest of her family.

She's too good for me...
Part I – The Sentinel

Player: Lumenne
Name: Emery
Nicknames: Em or Emy
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Adult
Hatch Date: ???
Type: Wildtype
Task: Crafter (copper)
Personality: Emery is your archetypal nerd; shy, studious, almost obsessive about his work, bad at expressing his feelings, and bad at making conversation, unless it’s about something he is very knowledgeable about. These topics, of course, are pretty limited. He tries, though. Sometimes too much, to the point where he just comes off as annoying. If he hadn’t fallen in love with the lovely Forager next door, he might have just declared himself a hermit and saved everyone the trouble.

History: As a youngling, this Wildtype always looked for a place where he was needed, where he could please as many as he could without drawing too much attention to his weakest points. He had a great ear for music and a pleasant voice to boot, but he could never bring himself to perform in front of anyone. He was horribly embarrassed whenever the Minders discovered him singing to himself when he thought he was alone. He eventually discovered a non-embarrassing way to use his gift. This was crafting musical items for the Bards, always perfectly tuned in whatever key they preferred to sing. Nowadays, he usually works with copper. He won’t touch gold – too bright and pure for the likes of himself – and silver always seemed too cold. He especially loves the deep richness of the sound made by large copper wind chimes.

And thus, Emery has led a simple, humble life. He’s never wondered about his parents – at least, he didn’t used to. Now that Bushfire has unknowingly captured his timid heart, he wishes he had at least a hint of a fine family history to impress her with. If the chance to find out where he came from presents itself, he will jump on it in an instant. His heart goes out to the beautiful female, who is strong enough to defend such a desirable territory, yet slips into such gripping despair the moment the danger is gone.

Territory: Emery makes his home in a stand of trees west of the Deep Woods, close to where Bushfire lives. His territory is easily distinguished by the painstakingly-tuned copper wind chimes hung throughout.
