The Bible says not to have another other gods before Jesus. That can include friends, tv, video games, ext. But how do you know when something is becoming a god?

It's when you feel yourself lessening time for God to be with tv, friends, or videogames

Ouch.
Yeah. See, this is the one I have a problem with the most I think. Because I love video games, roleplays and MMORGs. It's really easy for me to find some new entertainment and then be consumed by it. I've had to give up countless websites that I loved, but couldn't control my time spent playing or thinking about it. Truth be told, I've had to fast Gaia a few times as well.
I think it's more than lessening time for God, because I could be obsessed with something and still spend the same amount of throne time everyday. But I think the problem is in our minds. I know that when it's all I want to talk about, what I think about when I lay in bed at night and when I make any excuse to indulge even more -that's when I know I have to repent and make some sacrifices.

Actually. That get's me thinking.
If when I make something else my 'god' I think about it all the time and talk about it all the time. Shouldn't that be something we're doing with our real God? Thinking about him when ever our minds are left to wander? And talking about him when we are with other people?
Here's a challenge for us all; to live our lives as if we are totally obsessed with God!
