Does any one other than me get a tattoo to help boost their self-confidence when they are feeling low (along with other reasons behind the design, of course)? What do you all say? Yea or nea when it comes to ink as a confidence booster?

I do think i could get a tattoo to make myself feel better because i think theyre beautiful and people with them are beautiful.
I also will get tattoos because i think its cute, i hate when people say you HAVE to have a reason behind it stare
Why not get a dragonfly because you like dragonflies? XD

Exactly. There are tattoos that don't have a reason or a meaning.

I never got mine with the intention of boosting my confidence, but that was an incredibly pleasing side effect. xd

HAHA this looks great guys. In all honesty only one of my tats would be catoregized under this situation, but I love it to death and it has soooo much meaning behind it.
So, let's change it up a bit... does anyone gets tats on a whim or would you rather think or mull them over first?
I'm personally a thinker.

I can say most of mine were thought out....... but the 14 on the back of my neck was kind of spur of the moment. The idea of it had crossed my mind a couple of times, but I never gave it serious thought, until one day we were at a "Skin and Steel" (tattoo and motorcycle) show. I won a raffle to one of the tattoo shops, and that was when I decided I wanted the 14. It's one of those kinds that has no deep meaning, it was a joke, because I had 13 tattoos for so many years, so now i have 14!
I know, I'm silly redface

most of mine are thought out, the only one that was spur of the moment was my dragonfly, and the only regret that i have is that my normal tattoo artist didn't do it

I agree completely, same for me. And as to the new question, I don't get on a whim. I think my out for quite awhile. It's a good thing too, because a few of mine I thought I'd like, I've changed my mind about and came up with something different, so I'm glad that I didn't get them.

I've done the same thing. It takes me forever to settle on a design... I'm so happy that I didn't randomly go out and get some of the ones I thought I'd like since I ended up not liking it as of now.

When I get tattoos I get them because I want to. They're just fun to get and I guess when it is all said and done it can be a confidence booster for me because with each tattoo I feel more and more complete. Like they were always there or something. I think tattoos enhance a person so much and makes the more attractive. And as for thinking a whole lot about them, I'd say 80% of my tattoos are thought out for months and some years, but some are only thought out for weeks or days or right on the spot. I mean you can't have everything planned out ahead of time because then life would be no fun and there would be no randomosity to anything.
