FINALLY! I GOT THEM UP!

Name:

Javier Cruz (pronounced in the Spanish way which is "Ha-vee-air")

Nicknames:

Javie ("Ha-Vee")

Gender:

Male

Age:

19

Race:

Superhuman

Character Description:

Javier stands at about 6'3" and weighs at 143 lbs. He has a long slender figure but he is not scrawny; just more on the lean side. He has a cinnamon colored complexion and thin straight pure-white colored hair (early hair graying runs in his father's side of the family) that is usually kept in a ruffled manner. He has a strong but youthful face, with eyes that are a very pale blue; so pale that they appear to be white. Please note that he always has a grin on his face.

Alignment:

Neutral

Personality:

Javier is a wild boy, plain and simple. He desires freedom and can't stand authority.Life to him is one big game and an even bigger joke, rarely taking anything seriously. Despite his cockiness and rebellious nature, people are drawn to his humor and raw charisma. He's smart, but he is really lazy when it comes to work/school and he won't do something that doesn't interest him or doesn't benefit him. He lives for the moment, and is often out at night with friends playing pranks or being mischievous. He is quite the charmer when it comes to women, and boy does he love the female anatomy. It's rare for him to "love" somebody; despite his seemingly carefree nature, he sees the people around him as either enemies or acquaintances. The only "friend" that he has is his cousin Lola.

Lola is the only one who knows the complete Javier, from past to present. He trusts her with everything. He bullies her like a sister, watches over her like a father but he clings to her like a child would with their mother even though he is older. He is very protective of her and does not like to be away from her. Seeing her associate with boys gets him especially upset.

When he does get upset, he can be pretty reckless, and he feels he must have the last word and prove that he is the tougher man.

History:

Leonardo Ricardo was a religious freedom fighter and led a group guerrilla soldiers in a poor village in Cuba. Considered an archangel because of his superhuman strength and ability to control electricity, he was greatly respected by his people and feared by his enemies. He had two children, fraternal twins to be exact. His daughter, Zoila who was a water elemental grew under her father's watchful eye, and later married Leonardo's most trusted general and together they had Javier.

Javier was always a rambunctious and wild child which made it very difficult to raise him, especially when his parents noticed that he had inherited fire abilities like his uncle Zuma and his grandfather's super strength. His childhood revolved around learning and training in the art of war and defense, all in the name of freedom to worship God and to not be oppressed by the government. Although he excelled in his combat and weaponry skills, his heart was never in it. He thought it was foolish to fight for a cause that never seemed valuable to him. Because of his lack of interest, he was often looked down in disappointment from his peers and elders. He never had a good relationship with his father for this reason.

In his early teen years, there was a moment of ceasefire, and there had been no attacks from their front or against them. This cease fire lasted for 3 years. Seeing no reason to fight, Javier let his rebellious side take the better of and often ran away with his friends to escape from growing up into the man his family expected him to be. He gave his mother much grief, and she often voiced her worry for him, but he never took it seriously. At one point he wondered if he should live a life of faith, but that all changed when the invasion happened.

When Javier was 16 their village was attacked by an unknown enemy. The invasion caught everyone by surprise and many lives were loss. Javier fought as much as he could but he couldn't save everyone. The only member of his family to survive the invasion was his cousin Lola. The deaths of his mother and grandfather had hit him hard the most since they were the only two that had at least tried to mentor and help him. Javier, Lola and other newly orphaned children were taken and sent away to different missionary funded orphanages.

The trauma from the invasion messed with his mind a bit. He refused to discuss his reasons for being there and he bluntly rejected missionary teachings, stating that if God loved him so much, he wouldn't be in the situation he was in. He turned back to his spunky wild boy ways, as though the invasion never happened.

However, he also got to know his cousin Lola better and without realizing, he developed a deep attachment to her. Those who grew up with Javier and Lola know that Lola has an almost creepy resemblance to Javier's mother. This caused him to be very clingy to her, since she reminds him so much of his mother. Because of his outlandish bad boy behavior, he often used his powers for mischief and damaged much property. Since he was causing such a problem, the caretakers quickly responded to a mysterious invitation to Copyrighted Powers Academy and made it a point to send him there in the hopes that a new country and discipline would set him straight. Javier didn't mind leaving, but he refused to leave Lola. Thus, she eventually decided to come along for the ride, partly because she wanted to explore her own abilities, and for another reason, that she doesn't exactly tell anyone; not even him.

Weapons/Armor:

Javier has a special gauntlet that was made for him a few years back. The purpose of this gauntlet is to keep in check the flow of power in his left arm, since he is a lefty and his power flow is stronger in that arm. This way he can do his daily activities without burning somebody or have something explode. The gauntlet also aims his power, so that should he fire something from his hand, the gauntlet works like a flamethrower with straight precision.

Items:

Javier always wears a cross necklace that belonged to his mother. He is not a person of faith, but this was the only thing he has left of her. He also is very fond of his orange tinted Armani shades.

Skills/Powers:

Can manage himself in military combat.

Pyrokinesis: the ability to control and manipulate fire with the body. Javier inherited this skill from Lola's father which is his uncle.

Ambient Flare: The ability to produce fire that doesn't burn. It can be used to provide light it small dark spaces, or be used for show.

Super Strength: Inherited from his grandfather.

Hot Blooded: Javier's blood has a very rare acid like consistency that is flammable.

Weakness/Flaws:

He doesn't take things seriously, which can be dangerous if something bad were to happen. A lot of people feel they can't work with him because he is considered immature and irresponsible. He is not big on commitment of any sort. Javier doesn't like to take advice or instruction from authoritative figures, even if they are right.

Some people consider his attachment to his cousin Lola a bit unhealthy. He is extremely dependent on her emotionally, and should he separate from her for a long period of time he gets anxious. This most likely stems from the fact that she is the closest thing he has to his deceased mother.

Name:
Lola Ricardo

Nicknames:
Lolita

Gender:

Female

Age:
17

Race:
Superhuman

Character Description:
Lola is an even 5ft and weighs 140 lbs. She has a very thick figure, but she isn't obese. Rather, she has very soft round curves. She has a round face, with a button nose and full lips. She has serious cat shaped eyes that are a very dark brown-so dark that they appear to be black. Lola has sandy colored skin and very thick and very long voluminous chocolate colored hair that is usually kept in a high ponytail.

Alignment:

Good

Personality:

She is the polar opposite of her cousin Javier. Lola is a determined, hands on kind of girl with a diligent work ethic. She comes of as a rugged tomboy, but she has a heart of gold that strives to help others, not to make herself look good and charitable, but because she feels it is her duty to show a God-like kindness to people no matter who they may be. She doesn't like being looked down upon because of her size or the fact that she is a girl, because she grew up being put on the side lines most of her life. She is a complex girl, very aware of her emotions and wears them on her sleeve. She is a proud person of faith, but she knows how to voice her opinions and doesn't judge others. She is a rather wise girl and doesn't mind giving sound advice.

If someone were to see how she treated her cousin Javier, they would be creeped out at the fact that she would make the perfect wife and mother. Although both consider the other their most trusted best friend, it is clear that she is the more mature one in their tiny two-member family. She has been known to cook for him and sew ripped clothes, and is the first one there to try and talk him out of getting into trouble. She reprimands and even hits him when he says and does things she doesn't like. Javier is always pissing her off but he always knows how to make her laugh. It's weird because she is younger than him but he depends on her so much. However she would never turn him away, for she feels it is her duty to protect him.

His son, Zuma who was a fire elemental, became a strong fighter and was Leonardo's second in command. He married a young woman from the village and together they had Lola.

Zuma loved Lola with all of his heart, but he couldn't deny the fact that his only child was the carbon copy of his twin sister Zoila, and not him. There was no place in war for a little girl, and so he made it a point that Lola stay at home safe with her nose buried under books and under his watchful eye. For most of her childhood, Lola hated the fact that she was a girl. She loved her father but she couldn't shake the feeling that he was disappointed that she was a she and not a he.

In reality, Lola had the soul of a true freedom fighter and she believed in the cause of her people and she wanted to fight by their side. However she was never given an opportunity to prove herself, and it came to a point that nobody realized the potential that she had, especially with her abilities. There were only two people that at least tried to understand her. Her aunt Zoila was the first to notice her water abilities, and she devoted much of her time teaching her how to use her abilities for therapeutic and medical purposes. The other was her grandfather Leonardo.

Leonardo had been strict with his daughter, but she never questioned him. But when he looked at his grand-daughter; who appearance wise looked exactly like his daughter-he saw something different. Zoila was a river, but Lola was a tsunami. When the 3 year ceasefire was going on, Leonardo would arrange secret meetings with Lola, and personally trained her in basic hand-to-hand combat as well as learning how to apply her aquatic abilities in a battlefield. Lola was thrilled and grateful to her grandfather. But this bond wouldn't last forever.

When Lola was 14 their village was attacked by an unknown enemy. The invasion caught everyone by surprise and many lives were lost. Enemy troops invaded Lola's home. Much to her mother's surprise, Lola fended off many attackers, all in the desperate attempt to protect her mother and also to prove to the enemy she would not go down without a fight. When an enemy soldier fired a rifle in Lola's direction, it was her grandfather that jumped and took the bullet for her. Eventually the numbers became too numerous and she had been shot several times.

There was a moment where Lola stood in front of a peaceful but radiant light, and she could see the silhouette of what appeared to be her family. At first she wanted to go towards that light, until she heard the distinguished sounds of a young man weeping behind her. As much as she wanted to go, she realized that she still had a purpose yet to serve and with that she decided to take a rain check on going to heaven.

When she awoke, she found herself in an orphanage outside of Cuba. As she recovered she had developed a deeper understanding of her faith and also developed a close bond with her cousin Javier. His rambunctiousness was a problem at the Orphanage and they proposed that he attend the Copyrighted Powers Academy. Javier insisted that he would not go without Lola. Lola gave it much thought and agreed to go with him. Part of her leaving was because she wanted to get a better understanding of her abilities and get to know other people like her. The other part being that she vowed never to leave his side. She turned down heaven so that she could watch over Javier. But she would never tell him that.

Weapons/Armor:
Lola has an army knife that belonged to her father Zuma. She rarely uses it to arm people though.

Items:
Lola awoke in the orphanage with her grandfather's dog tags around her neck. She hasn't taken them off since.

Skills/Powers:

Hydrokinesis: the ability to control and manipulate water in all it's forms with the body. Lola inherited this ability from her aunt Zoila which is Javier's mother.

Regeneration: A healing factor

Super Strength: Inherited from her grandfather.

Life Giver:Lola's body contains an odd chemical that is within all of her bodily fluids (tears, saliva, sweat etc) that contains powerful healing properties. This chemical is extremely potent in her blood.

Weakness/Flaws:

Lola's healing factor does not make her immortal, and she is prone to sickness like a regular person. She will most likely die from natural causes at an old age.
She is immune to the healing properties of her body fluids, meaning that it can heal other people but it won't heal herself.

Some people consider her attachment to her cousin Javier a bit unhealthy. He is extremely dependent on her emotionally, and should he separate from her for a long period of time he gets anxious. This most likely stems from the fact that she is the closest thing he has to his deceased mother. Because she is constantly with him all the time, she isn't as social as she would like to be, and ironically enough it's difficult for her to have a normal relationship with boys, because Javier treats her like his daughter. And since she always tries to get him out of trouble, she ends up getting into trouble as well.

Lover:
Javie would kill him O_o
