Herbs of the Weeks Sept 28/Oct 5: Mugwort and Fennel

Mugwort
artemisia vulgaris

Magical uses: clairvoyance, protection, cleansing, psychic

Specific uses: a tea of mugwort cooled makes a wonderful wash for crystal balls, pendulums and scrying mirriors (most anything used for divinatinon) put dried leaves into a bag (zip top or paper) and shake up with tarot cards to cleanse them. Burned as incense it helps with divination and astral work (though the smoke can trigger headaches)

Fennel
foeniculum vulgare

Planetary association: Mercury
Elemental association: fire

Parts used: seeds, root, stalks, leaves (though in magic mostly seeds)

Magical Uses: protection, blessings, success, business, healing, fertility, communication

Specific uses: the fresh leaves mixed into salads are a great way to help family communication over meals
