//My name{?} Who wants to know?//
Aeske 'Xepher' Sekuram Cerhazlor
//A mouthful?...Alright, then. Just call me this.//
Aeske. Or Ae. Xepher if he's switched, naturally. Much closer friends will call him Cerha, an affectionate little title he rarely gives out. It irritates him, after all.
//As if you need to ask.//
Male, would you believe it.
//How old am I? Why should I tell you? Eh...//
Eighteen. Probably.
//What am I? Surprisingly good question.//
Purified Ghoul. Just...don't ask. It's like...well. Not undead. But parts of his body have indeed been...regenerated from a post-mortem state. Very complicated. Hell, Xepher refers to the two of them as a 'Reborn Demon', so Aeske isn't even sure just what he is anymore. Not the human he once was, that's for sure.
A little more about me, no doubt.
//Alignment? Side? Heh. What a weird thing to ask.//
Chaotic Good would probably be the best way to explain this one.
//What I'm like? Ohohoho~ I'm so glad you asked.//
Aeske is often described as stoic, bordering on emotionless, and quiet. While the first and last points may be partially true, the second is nowhere near accurate.
Aeske's stoic nature stems from his ability to keep a level head and seemingly not show any emotion, specifically in situations of an adverse nature. Regardless of whom or what his foe is, he will remain calm, cool and collected in terms of planning how to tackle that situation. The neutral setting of emotion also bodes well, and indeed compliments; his quiet nature. However, one must realise; it is mostly a façade. While he is indeed quite the stoic person in most situation, especially in an adverse nature, or even in a simple meeting of friends; Aeske's true nature lies in his rather hot-headed, underlying persona.
Quiet? Indeed he is. Aeske will rarely talk unless it's needed. Small talk, for some reason, irritates him. As such, he will often stay silent unless directly addressed to speak. Preferring to listen to others anyway; Aeske has the belief that by listening, one can learn almost as much, if not more, about the one they are listening to than speaking directly to them. Because of his seemingly quiet nature, often his voice is quite soft, calming. It is an effect he simply has on people, it seems; despite his own personality.
However, emotions are the things that often catch out Aeske. For, quite simply, he is a rather empathetic person. Not only that, but he himself is one filled with a variety of emotion. Behind the stoic façade, however thick or thin that layer may be; lies a perverted, loyal, sagacious, charming, hot-headed, devious, stubborn and incredibly passionate, if not almost sorrowful, young man. He's also inherently lazy towards anything that doesn't interest him; causing him to simply walk away from the situation. Or sleep. Of course, this personality rarely shows itself; Aeske's quite good at playing the whole stoic scene. It mostly manifests itself, well most clearly anyway, when Aeske is in the heat of battle.
//My past to my present? Weh. Fine, fine. Sit down, this won't take too long.//
A boy with no real path in his life to begin with; Aeske moved through his life with his family, generally content. Coming from a comfortable, yet strange upbringing; Aeske actually isn’t related to the family of which he has been brought up with. No, he is not ‘orphaned’ or ‘adopted’; his mother and father ran a most successful business, which incorporated the act of travelling the seas on a regular basis. Not wanting to stress, nor spoil their son; they left him in the care of his mother’s closest cousin’s family. Of course; they keep in contact with him almost all the time, fretting over his studies and his personal life.
Coming off as a somewhat cold person, this was never Aeske’s intention. Merely, his outlook on life is that of a more...grounded one. He believed in the paranormal, in the supernatural; but he detested feigned happiness and optimism. His cold, cool demeanour simply furthered this stereotypical view of him. He paid it no heed, however; continuing to excel at certain areas at school, as well as becoming smarter, more aware. He was fortunate in the fact that he was never spoiled, and often fended for himself at home. Never, however, did he feel neglected, quite the opposite; he enjoyed having to rely on himself. He saw it as a trait, a mark of character. And it allowed him to feel certain, confident if you will, when others came to rely on him; he knew he could be trusted.
Eventually, however, that all changed. For, upon a darkened night when Aeske was returning from a few friend's houses, only fourteen at the time, Aeske came upon something rather...peculiar. If he were to explain it in any way, recalling the event, he would have called it a huge, black wolf. At least a couple of stories high, most likely more. Before he could even turn to run, not that he would have, this beast devoured him. Literally ripped him to shreds.
When he came to, Aeske was at the Academy. And, apparently, it had not been a dream; Aeske really had been killed. But, somehow, he was alive. It appeared that that demonic...thing, had somehow bonded to him. He had returned to the realm of the living; as a Ghoul.
Since then, Aeske has been confined, sorry, advised to stay at the school. Partial Undead nature aside, it appeared that Aeske did indeed have some untapped abilities just waiting to be unlocked. Working this out for the best, the Academy came up with some bullshit story to sell to his parents, and Aeske simply agreed to stay put. He was a little shocked at the time, all things considered. And these people had promised to protect him. So it wasn't all bad, now, was it?
Four years from that time, and Aeske has only grown and matured. Unfortunately for the Academy, probably not in a way they would have wished. His incredibly dark nature and cynical outlook on the place doesn't exactly help them bond with him easily. Still, he is grateful for them 'saving' him, and giving him the training he needed to control the apparent beast that was within him. Even if said beast gives him some totally badass power to go hand in hand with its 'curse'.
Yeah. Aeske's fairly content.
//My looks? Uh...okay, I'll talk about my appearance.//
Aeske has quite a charming attribute about him. He is handsome, and despite his denial of it, there's no real denial of this fact. However, he doesn't deny this due to false modesty; the young man genuinely thinks he's 'average' as far as looks go. His relatively thin physique, and height of 5'10" usually stops this defence, as well as almost all the other features about his physical appearance.
Perhaps Aeske's most startling features are his eyes and hair. His hair is a greyish, faded colour; yet completely natural. Aeske will often state that he used to have ebony-hued hair, prior to the joining of both he and Xepher. His eyes are also grey, although leaning more towards a silver colouring, and piercing in their glaze. Although, Aeske by no means wishes for this; it is merely the standard feel they give out. As such, the young man will often attempt to soften his eyes when talking to others, but should one catch him brooding, or on his own; one would not be able to deny the look of hidden wisdom, sorrow, and resolve that lurk within the depths of his eyes. Indeed, his eyes give off quite a lot of his character, something even his outer shell cannot mask completely to those trained to look into the hearts of others.
Aeske's face is smooth, yet dignified. Almost noble-like, but then again, considering his joining with Xepher, Aeske isn't particularly surprised. One particularly interesting thing about Aeske's facial features is that they change drastically depending on the length of his hair. Really, it appears that when he has short hair, it's quite easy for him to be recognised as male, yet when his hair grows longer, the line seems to blur. Well, what with his thin physique, and the fact that as his hair grows longer, it covers the top half of his face almost completely, it's understandable to an extent. As such, he almost always keeps his hair short. Incidentally, when Xepher takes over, Aeske's hair grows out long. Very long. Then again, he also gains a respectable bust, and a far more effeminate, changing from handsome swiftly to beautiful, face. Well...what does one expect when one has a woman like Xepher joined to them?
Aeske's skin has a darkened, golden-brown tan over it, something that contrasts against his silvery features in an alluring manner. His clothing, however, can usually leave quite a few things to be desired. Often, the young man will don simply a shirt of some colour, jeans, a few belts for good measure and his trademark coat, something of which he's never seen without. And, obviously, his silver cross. As far as he's concerned, these two articles of clothing are the base of his fashion sense, well, what little fashion sense he has. He will sometimes wear a hat, too, but the wind often likes to take that accessory away from him.
//Weapons? Heh.//
Aeske doesn't use weaponry, preferring to fight hand-to-hand. Only real men fight that way, in his eyes. Occasionally, against a truly powerful opponent, Aeske will wear a black, moderately-sized gauntlet on his right arm to add both power and defence. Truly against those worthy, though. However, whenever Xepher takes over control, she will often summon forth a dark, crimson blade she refers to as 'Aeske'. Fun, eh? Naturally, this blade holds quite a few abilities, aside from being incredibly keen and light.
//My 'inventory'?//
A cross. Aeske wears a cross with a silver chain over his neck at ALL times. Taking this pretty thing off would result in Xepher, the demon within him, being unleashed. And a Ghoul amplified by the power of a demonic wolf is never something one should want to fight against. The cross cannot be removed by Aeske himself unless he is under severe emotional distress, as it is heavily affected by his state of mind, and is incredibly strong; preventing it from being removed by sheer brute strength. In order for it to be removed, the one attempting to remove it must know both Aeske's full name, and Xepher's real name; and picture both of these things in their mind whilst they attempt to remove it.
//Heh. Combat? Now this is more my style.//
Aeske's main focus, and genius as a fighter, comes in his ability to analyse and quickly gauge his opponents strength. Give him a decent amount of time, and sometimes he'll be able to second-guess just what their abilities are, if it isn't completely obvious. Aeske naturally has enhanced strength and speed, particularly in the form of the latter. On a good day, Aeske can literally disappear from sight; and create afterimages of himself whilst he runs. Indeed, he has rather insane speed. This is all due to the power he has unlocked from Xepher, and the woman often states that Aeske either has no power of his own, or it's very, very dormant. The notable techniques he has mastered so far are;
Seventh Flame Incantation - Flamma Chalybs; A malleable, powerful, everlasting flame. When it takes form, it acts much like that of a sword, hence its name, slashing indiscriminately against its target. Whilst it is not attached to Aeske's body, and indeed it takes form in the shape of a ball of fire when it's not attacking, the blade cannot extend further than a metre from Aeske's right hand, making it rather limited in range. The most striking feature of this flame, however, is that it is a blue coloured blaze. Most strange.
Eleventh Flame Incantation - Flamma Manus; Another powerful flame attack, this particular technique involves the flame in question to coat Aeske's right hand in the powerful blaze; increasing not only its strength, but obviously also the sheer amount of damage he inflicts on his opponents. Should he choose to, Aeske can expel the flame upon his hand in a powerful blast; something he combines with close-ranged assaults.
Third Astral Incantation - Absolute Barrier; An insanely powerful defensive technique, this skill essentially draws power directly from Xepher; and that alone causes it to be incredibly draining. In effect, it completely cancels out almost any magical attack or ability used offensively against Aeske, should he use the technique. The downside is that it is incredibly tiring, and even using it once causes him to drain more than half his energy. As such, it is seldom used expect for in true emergencies. However, Aeske can channel this ability through just his left arm, allowing him to potentially use it four times a day before he is completely drained of energy. If this is the case, then Aeske must catch the attack upon his left arm; otherwise the concentrated barrier won't work.
//Weaknesses? Me?...Well, yeah. I have a few.//
Aeske suffers from narcolepsy. Which can be, and usually is, a b***h in the middle of fighting, as I'm sure you can guess. He also has an incredibly bad habit of losing his drive midway through several things. And that's pretty dangerous, again, in battle. The 'curse' of Xepher also causes Aeske to become instantly tired at random intervals, in which his movement becomes very sluggish, and he generally can't do much until he's rested himself. Oh, and should he remove the cross from his neck himself, Aeske will go into a complete berserk rage. Powerful, but it elongates his coma period even further, once it's over.
//I have friends?//
No you don't, Aeske.
//Heh. A couple of rivals, I reckon.//
Probably too insignificant to bother putting up here.
//A special someone?//
Hah! Maybe one day, Aeske. Maybe one day.
//My home, my sanctuary, my...place.//
Dorm One. Lucky, lucky Aeske~
//Ah, a few extra notes for you~//
Aeske plays a mean piano. Seriously, he's pretty much godly at that one instrument; and whenever he sees one, he can't help but play that said instrument before him at least once. Although, he'll most likely play it more than once.
Xepher, when not in control of her host, wanders around aimlessly in Aeske's mindspace. Although she'll often leave those who pry or enter her home, that being Aeske's mind, alone; if it becomes a hostile threat, she has no problems with making her presence known; as it is often hidden. Of course, for fun, she'll sometimes let her presence be known anyway. Her appearance is strikingly similar to Aeske's, simply far more beautiful than handsome, and with all the 'humble' lady parts to go with that. She also occasionally speaks to Aeske, much to his dismay, and can even project an astral image of herself for his eyes, and those who have high mental and magical awareness, only. Oh, and she's also extremely possessive of Aeske. But that probably won't be too big a deal.
