This site isn't about breast cancer, it's just about breasts! xp I think it's so great though because it has pictures of breasts, and they're not "perfect" breasts. They sag, they're uneven, they have stretch marks, etc.

The site is not a sexual one, it's an educational one. It's meant to show women that there isn't anything wrong with their breasts because too many women think their body is abnormal when it's not.

Other than just being educational and a reality check, I wanted to post this site here because I didn't notice any pictures of anyone on the site who had had a mastectomy. I think that might be a nice contribution to the site if anyone has had a breast removed and wanted to send in a picture.

I sent a picture of my breasts in about a year ago. 3nodding

That was interesting, particularly because all of the photos were accompanied by comments by the women themselves.

I'm going to try and find a site with pictures of cancerous breasts, before treatment/surgery and after. I know my friend who helps me out had a lumpectomy and does not wear an insert or anything, and did not have reconstructive surgery either. From the outside (no, we don't shower together, LOL) her breasts look "normal".

Of course, mine won't, since I'll be missing one, but I'm curious about the look of other cancer patients' breasts. Mine is currently almost divided in half in a pinched sort of way, with hardened skin around the n****e. It definitely does not look normal. Being a diagnosed depressive, I put off going to the doctor way too long after I discovered a moderate sized lump. My entire breast is now involved.

I think that would be great.

I heard a lot of women were dying from breast cancer in other countries even though they didn't have to. They were just not as open as most Americans and wouldn't go to the doctor to get their breasts looked at all, even when they did find a lump. I don't remember where I heard that or exactly how much truth there is in it, but I can certainly see it happening in some cases, even in America. I'm glad I started going to the ob-gyn when I was fairly young. If I had waited a few more years, I probably would have been more nervous about that kind of stuff. I've always had women doctors, and I think that made it a little easier for me too. If my biopsy person is a guy, he'll be the first male to give me a vaginal exam. eek

I'm sure that's true about cultures where women won't go to a doctor. In some places, only a woman (and not one who is a doctor) is allowed to help a woman give birth. Of course there are more childbirth deaths in those places.

My ob/gyn's are always women too, but this cancer thing is different. I don't care if it is a highly qualified chimpanzee who does my biopsy as long as he/she is highly qualified. LOL It's a case of RESCUE ME!
