She had wandered away from her family again. Blinking at the sun, the young filly sighed sadly as a group of foals skittered away from her. She had tried everything to look 'nicer', including rubbing mud on her face to hide her skull marking. But the mud never stayed and she was left alone at the end of the day. The only 'play' she ever got was from Adour or her Papa. Even then...it was more like training or work.
Making her way to an opening, quite the sight greeted her eyes; The ocean, the beach. Still covered by the trees, she felt the urge to and play in the water, but was afraid of scaring anybody away. Indecisive, she stayed rooted to the spot.

 Claude shook the sudden spary of ocean water from his mane, tail, and wings. Looking around he saw nothing but the great expanse of water and sand. It was a wonderous sight. Claude inhaled again the salty air and smiled. The day and pure and the weather mild. The perfect climate realy for one as temerate as he.
The wind ruffled his feathers and he reached around to comfort the irriation at the sudden misplacement. Upon turning his head he was confronted with a most alarming sight. A skeletal Soquli. Of course his first instict was to run and warn others of the impeding danger. But something else caught his eye. Other coloring on her back and neck. Why, this wasn't a zombie at all, but a most interestingly coloring filly!
He smiled and decided to investige. He preened quickly (as the irriation have begun to sting a bit) and turned to carefully walk over to her. For some reason most foals were quite skittish! He was never taught to be like that, in fact he was brought up to be quite bold!
As he neared sufficiently he noted the glowing eyes and speckled lecks and back. He bowed his head gracefully, letting her know he wasn't a threat, and called, "I bid thee good day, fair maiden. And good day it is. Hast thou seen a brighter, clearer day than this?"

He...Didn't run. Blinking at the colt, Kitten tilted her head and looked him over. He didn't look stupid, and as a matter of fact he sounded very intelligent.
She listened to him, and tried to interpret his speech pattern. It was...cute. Whatever that meant, really. Smiling as he bowed, she bowed as well, thinking it the right thing to do in this situation. "Good day to you, as well. It is a really nice day, although i'm just wondering what all that water is doing here."

Claude looked behind him. He smiled at the ocean and turned back, still smiling. "Why, good lady, tis the sea! Where is it that thou comes from that thou dosen't know the sea? It must be quite inland." He cocked his head a little and shivered as a cool, albeit salty breeze floated over him, rustling his feathers. He did not reach back to preen them, seeing that as impolite.
"Come forth, milady, and allow me to show you," he offered, stepping forward just a touch. "Tis nothing to fear, in fact it quite an enjoyable place to be!" He laughed a little, remembering the first time his mother brough his brothers and him to the beach. That was a very nice day.

She giggled a bit at his speech, finding it quite...endearing. "I...live in the forest and i've only seen rivers and lakes...but this...The Sea seems really big! Bigger than either of them!" She looked out for a moment, the sun barely dipping down and starting to take on a reddish tone.
Looking back down as he spoke again, she smiled and made her way towards him, prancing a bit, only to let out a slight squeal as her hooves dug into the sand. It sure didn't feel like mud! "Whoa! What is this!?"

Claude grinned. "It's sand, Milady. Like the sea it won't hurt you. It's nice to walk along in the sand, especially when it's been warmed all day by the sun." He troted over to her and cocked his head to the side. She really did have a most interesting coloring. Esspecially on her face. It made Claude smile. He was used to the nutral tones for the Mountain soquili. Of course he was by no means neutral. dispite his mothers best effort he alwasy thought he was a bit of a freak. But here was another with strange markings.
"May I say your coloring is most interesting!" He beamed and leaned in to get a closer look at the skull on her face. "Most intriguing indeed! I must say, I do find it lovley! Very... unorthodox." He took a step back and flipped in mane. "Oh, where are my manners? My deem is Claude. May I ask for the Lady's name?"

She laughed in joy as she played in the sand a bit, kicking it up a little and giggling when it landed on her face. She enjoyed being here, and it was a new experience. Though she was still wary of the water, she perked up again when he started talking about her coloring. She stayed still as he got close to her face, grinning. He definitely wasn't afraid of her.
But as he told her that the way she looked was 'lovely', she fought back a very deep blush. No one except her dad and the old fart had complimented her like that before, and she wasn't used to it. She closed her eyes slowly and tilted her head as she grinned sheepishly. Upon hearing his introduction, she giggled. For some reason, she liked his name.
"My name is Kitten...Sir Claude." She said happily, using a title for him she thought would fit.

Claude laughed hartily. It sounded comical comeing from such a small foal. He fluttered his wings and said, "finaly someone recognized my knighthood." He bowed deeply and stood straight up. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Lady Kitten. Such a sweet name, might I comment. Where do you hail from? Surely not from around here due to you lack of knowlege of the sea," he chimed happily, resisting a foalish canter that he saw as below him.
"Pardon me, I tend to get excited when meeting new Soquili. I get it from my mother." He blushed lightly too. Thanks to his red coloring you wouldn't know it. But still, he averted his gaze as was the nature of someone embarrassed.

"Awwwww Thank you. I like my name too!" she giggled as she trotted happily to his side flicking her tail happily. "And no worries about being excited, i'm excited too! And let's see..." She pondered silently for a moment, looking at her hooves and kicking a little bit of sand. "I live in the forest near a clearing with Daddy. It's really pretty sometimes, but other times it scares me." She shuddered, remembering the shadow she'd seen the other night.
"What about you? Do you live by this big water...i mean, Sea?"

He jumped a little as the hair of her tail brushed his side. Still, he spoke in a rather unembarrassed tone. "I live in the mountains, just north of here. Though I come here often. It's a wonderful place to think." He smiled and flipped his mane. "Come, the tide is nearly in, it feels good to wade a little bit." He nervously took a step toward the sea, wondering if she'd follow. "I won't let you fall in, or anything, I promise. And the word of a knight is like gold!"
