Well, I thought I'd put a picture up or two. I'm stuck in a rut at the moment.. Sort of kind of. It's hard to get inspirations and ideas for new drawings. So these are old.
Fallen to h*ll. I made this in middle school. It's based on my main character for my story line I started with my friends.. Drako rules here. Cliche name I know (Drako is a dragon btw), but I still haven't come up with anything better. I never finished this one. There was going to be a lot more in the background, but I put it off too much. Hope these aren't too big. If they are someone just tell me and I'll change'm. This is from a little side story I had been thinking about in the beginning of High School when I started to get into a depression. It's not really like my character at all, but I wanted to personify him this way. Just something to keep my imagination going really. I'm trying to keep from posting overly depressing stuff lol. Lots of drama, no? Heh. Last one. This is called a Damonicat. This one's running through a desert.. and yeah he's Blaze like the last two pictures were lol. I don't just draw my character, but I'm really fond of these pics, and I wanted to know what ya'll thought. Critique etc. would be nice, but I know these aren't perfect. Any are welcome to comment on'm. I want to write some stories now. 3nodding

you are a very talented artist anf you shouldnt let the slightest rut stop you and the first one is really amazing
factoid: most of da vinci's art work are in completes meaning the ones we have are only half of what there is

Well it's not like an artist can just plop out a good drawing. I could say it has to do with skills and practice etc. but really you just have an idea that you want to draw down. I never thought of how bad my drawings were when I started in 1st grade I just wanted to draw from the things in my head. It's not rocket science lol, but some people they'll draw something and then give up 'cause they think they can't draw. Don't let other people's experience get in the way of your passion.
Some people are just plain fortunate enough to get the right books to learn from, or a teacher to show them techniques. I only took basic art classes through my years in school. Very basic. When you've got an imagination you don't really care how you express it as long as you get to. Creating things from there is my passion. You don't have to be a gifted prodigy to get your ideas down. Just get a paper and pen or pencil and start drawing. No worrying about how good it is. Just create. smile Let it flow.
I admit I see a lot of other's artwork and I wish I could draw like them. You just got to remember it takes steps, and time to get there.
Here's some things that might help... Try to notice the things you want to draw. Take note of how lines and shading work together to make the object. It takes knowledge too. Like, you know how an arm bends, you know which ways eyes can move, shapes are the basic makeup of every object. All kinds of art books try to teach you that, but it's common sense that everyone knows. A computer monitor is square usually, so you go from there.. buttons, reflections, colors, shading, and lighting. Texture is important too. If you can draw shapes you can draw anything, heh.. Hope that helps some of you guys smile . If you really want to draw that's all you need to know. I mean I learned most of the things I know on my own. Observation is your greatest tool.

thats interesting. i dont consider myself an artist, but when i draw, i just put pencil to paper and see what comes to life. i never know what im going to draw before. if i do, i cant make it happen.

Yeah. Y'know I think that a lot of people think you have to be a pro or something to be an artist. I'm never really sure about myself either, but I think to "qualify" to be one you have to at least like doing something artistic. It honestly kind of gets on my nerves when people refer to me as an artist like it's such a great thing.. I still have a few people I have to draw things for.. I'm not that great, and it's hard to draw stuff for people 'cause you have to wonder what they would want. Dogsrox technically you are an artist lol. I can understand what you mean though. I get feelings, and impressions now. I want to draw them into something, but it just doesn't seem to come to me anymore. My mind is always all over the place, and I get frustrated easily lol. So I hardly ever draw now. I've sort of been trying to get back into it though. Here's a recent pic I've done if anyone's interested smile . It was inspired by the PC game Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines after I finally beat it. I'm playing it again now lol. This is supposed to be my character I played in it. I think rpgs tend to inspire me a lot.. Can't help it. I can get so into them hehe.

The 'Damonicat' is my favorite out of the ones you have posted. the only thing that bothers me a in it is the fact that the wings are in 2 different places on its back. :3 but it has really nice motion

It's all I can draw! gonk lol. About the wings.. you can't see where the other wing is connected because they're on either side of his body. I'm not exactly claiming to be great at this whole "art" thing. I try though rofl .
Edit: Oh yeah about the edward thing. I really can't stand Twilight... I think it killed my inner child sad .
Edit 2: Sorry they're kind of deleted now O.o;. Lots of art theft going on on the internet, so I got paranoid biggrin . I still have my Vampire the Masquerade dude up though yay lol.
